The exhibits were well done and informative, took over an hour, limited food and drink, looks like a covered bridge over the highway

worth a stop along I80

Robert_Z, Mar 2026
spouse loved this exhibit. lots of information presented. i found that the audio overlapped too much with the written text, but she didn't mind. On a hot day in March, some areas were very cold - jacket needed.

The 2 people who helped us were the nicest people I have ever came in contact with. So sweet. So helpful. Made the experience great!

Amazing history

Heather_J, Sep 2024
Goes into more detail about different areas. I really liked how it was set up. Starting from the pioneer days to current. It felt like I was in it, it's so amazing. Definitely worth going.

Piains Pioneers

Judy_T, Sep 2024
If only those pioneers could see the miles of beautiful corn fields in Nebraska today! My visit was a welcome break from the drive back home to Denver CO.

Great experience

We came to the Archway for my daughter's 15th birthday. She's a history nut and it didn't disappoint!

Great experience!

It’s always great to share our history with our kids! So much fun! The kids said it was the best day ever!

Make it happen, Captain! Stop already and check this place out!

Paul_S, Aug 2024
Driven under it 100 times, finally stopped. Well done. Well run. Fun couple hours for anyone who wants to learn more about the area and its role in the styling of the west. If you love America and Americana or road tripping - you’ll love this.

Well worth the stop!

It defies all logic that such a great museum exists over the interstate in the middle of Nebraska but our entire family loved it!

Great family destination

Joanne_B, Jun 2024
This is a very fun way to learn about history. Going at your own pace with the audio guide give you a chance to absorb it all in

History comes alive!

Ernest_L, Jun 2024
The narrative via individual audio device coupled with informative dioramas puts you directly in the story of westward expansion.

Definitely worth a visit!

Connie_R, Jun 2024
I’ve driven under the Archway a few times but never stopped. Recently I was staying in Kearney and decided to visit the museum. I really enjoyed it! The exhibits were very well done. They looked realistic and incorporated video at times. I liked the self-guided tour, so I could skip ahead or replay something if I wanted to. I wish I had brought my children when they were younger because I know they would have enjoyed it as well. I recommend this for all ages but especially for elementary-age children who are learning about American history.

Would recommend!

My husband, 17 year old son and 19 year old German foreign exchange student all really enjoyed the museum and surrounding trails. Very well done and full of interesting history and information I had never heard before. The Archway Monument is such an easy stop of of I80 as we were traveling to Colorado. We would recommend it to anyone!!

Amazing Archway

Kim_W, May 2024
We loved walking through this historical gem! Every display was very well represented and the audio portion was great. The gift shop had a very nice selection of gifts and the prices were very reasonable.

The whole family will recommend it to their friends.

Chris_V, Apr 2024
I liked everything, and my family did too. Everyone liked the speaker machines, if wanted to listen to something again you could.

Western history at your own pace

Linda_S, Mar 2024
History of the west brought to life! We went at our own pace through a 2-story venue, and nice to be out of the car

Closed during business hours

Katherine_L, Dec 2023
I bought tickets online the day of, drove up shortly after and they were closed. I arrived at 3 pm and their business hours are until 5 pm. I checked all their social medias and website to see if it said anything about being closed prior to buying tickets and nothing was stated they were closing early. If they are going to close, tickets should not be sold that day. I have made three attempts at contact for a refund and haven’t heard back.

Ultimate sacrifice of traveling west

A definite must see. Museum is an artistic and professional execution of the pioneer journey along the Platte River.

Interesting, a learning experience. Very enjoyable.

Pat_B, Oct 2023
Factual and done in an interesting way. The narrative was excellent. The props were true to life. It gave a feeling of actually being there with the pioneers.

Great time, everytime we are in Nebraska we stop. My son loves the history and enjoys out time there.

Great info

Janis_T, Sep 2023
Was a great experience. Lots of history about Nebraska. Preteen/teenager also enjoyed it. Would go again

Worth the Trip

Victoria_H, Aug 2023
The entire exhibit is amazing! Highly recommend and well worth the the trip and cost. Many wonderful statues outside and examples of native prairie grasses, and while the white wash the destruction of the Indigenous peoples quite a bit, it’s still a cool experience.

The bridge over Interstate 80 is going to give you a trip back in time.

David_J, Aug 2023
If you think you are going to be on a bridge over Interstate 80 you will only see the window to look at the Westbound lanes of speeders with the radar detector at the end of the tour. The technology is a little old and the sound recordings start slowly. The ride up the escalator starts the journey at when the pioneers are coming west on the Salt Lake trail, Oregon Trail, and the California trail. Give your group 2 hours see the Museum and bring a picnic to eat outside.

Janice_S, Jul 2023
I really love the historical part of all the things we learned and showing the timeline and the route 80 from west to east as well as some important settlers stories settlements along the way the coolest thing I saw was when you go over the highway and your looking window at the vehicles coming at you with the radar detector showing you their speeds definitely worth the time and money

Traveling in time

Yvonne_O, Jul 2023
Enjoyed feeling like you were part of the wagon train. The backdrop murals were great and the displays wonderful.

Loving Nebraska

Irene_L, Jul 2023
My friend loved the museum and learning the history of Nebraska. This has been my second time through the monument and I learn something new each time. Love living in Nebraska and learning about its history.

Great stop in the road!
