This was a must see in the Nashville area, the history and story here was very interesting. Our tour guide Bella was top-notch and knew so much about what she was sharing. The mansion and the grounds are beautiful and the wine tasting after our tour was also not to be missed!

The tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable about the residents of the home and the time period of history. The wine tasting was fun and informative. Wines are available to purchase but thankfully there was not an aggressive sales pitch. We walked the grounds and visited some of the other structures on the property. I would recommend this tour.

The visitor center is located at 110 Leake Avenue

Arrive 20 minutes before your tour time and redeem your voucher at our Visitor Service desk. They will direct you to your tour.
The grounds are wheelchair accessible and the first floor of the Mansion is also wheelchair accessible with a ramp to the side porch. Please bring your own wheelchair, walker, cane, or scooter to ensure your comfort. There is an elevator that provides service between the lower and upper levels of the Visitor Center.
We suggest a minimum of 2 hours on site for the guided tour, complimentary wine tasting, and self-guided tour of Grounds, Outbuildings and Shopping. If you are on the last tour of the day please plan to see the grounds prior to your tour. Grounds and Outbuildings are locked at 5pm.
Parking on site is free

The visit to Belle Meade Historic Site & Winery was an educational experience and offered interesting insight into the home’s history. Although I didn’t catch the guide’s name, the information shared was engaging and informative. Visitors should be aware that the tour involves moving through small rooms where you must stand still while listening, which can feel a bit restrictive. You’re also not allowed to touch or take photos of anything inside. The wine tasting afterward was a nice addition. Overall, it’s a worthwhile stop if you enjoy history and structured, guided tours.

The mansion tour is very interesting and thorough. Our guide was knowledgeable and encouraged questions. Learned a lot about the family but also about horse breeding and history of the times and area. Very worth while!

Walk the grounds. Explore the out buildings. Picture the years of mansion rise and fall. This one is small for a mansion and too many rooms were not available for viewing making it seem even smaller.

Historic Gem with Memories from the Civil War

The history of this treasured keepsake is worth the visit. Tom was a terrific tour guide. The mansion is well kept with many authentic pieces from the period. The bourbon bar is elegant and food smelled great (but we didn’t eat). Try an old fashioned with the Belle Meade bourbon, delicious. The wine flavor profile is all sweet. A memorable visit where actual Civil War events took place and many winning breed horses were bread.

My husband and I visited on Valentine’s Day. It was great to learn the history about the mansion, the owners, the loyal caretakers, everyone’s successes and struggles. Walking the land and the different areas was perfect during valentines, peaceful and romantic since we ended our visit at the winery and had their flavorful wine.

Loved our tour guide. She knew so much about everything. The only thing I was disappointed in was that we could not take pictures and that was not disclosed. In late January they will allow pictures again.
