Even with no artistic talent, it was easy to do with the guidance of the teachers. I had a great time, and walked out with a unique, hand-made souvenir. I would absolutely suggest this if you have even a passing interest in this kind of thing.

We had the best time. We repaired a piece of pottery and learned about the history and the journey of broken pottery. It may get broken, as in many things in life. However, the journey continues!

What a great way to spend our last full day in beautiful Okinawa. The ladies were incredibly sweet and patient with us. And we have a personal, special souvenir of our trip to take home.

We really enjoyed our experience. The two ladies that worked with us were so nice and made it such an enjoyable experience. They walk you through everything step by step and tell you how the normal process works. We were so pleased with how our pottery turned out! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who has 2 hours to do this experience.

It was such a calm, creative, mindful experience, and you get to take home something very special that symbolises the power and beauty of restorative healing and beautiful culture of Okinawa, Japan. Even though mine was not a masterpiece I still loved the end result. The teachers were very kind, helpful and lovely. Thank you

Great experience. I would’ve liked to hear more about what kintsugi is, how they got into the business, etc.
Just some more information because you’re pretty much taught how to do it then left alone so unless you go with a group or enjoy chatting to strangers in another group they don’t converse with you too too much lol
But overall the process was very cool and they are so so sweet

Thank you so much for your kind review and honest feedback.
We’re really happy to hear you enjoyed the kintsugi process and your time with us.
Thank you for visiting our studio.❤️

This was one of the best experience I've had in a long time. We saw her beautiful pottery pieces and then we were able to make one to take home.

This was a wonderful experience. They were excellent at explaining what to do and helping you create something to take home.
I highly recommend this. You don’t really need to be highly skilled to get something that looks ok.
Thanks for a wonderful day.

The experience was fantastic. Very stress free to learn something new. The staff is very helpful and keep things simple. Each step is a fun to learn and the history presented at the end for self reading is very insightful. I would definitely do it again in the future. I love the fact that you get to take home what you make the same day. I would definitely recommend anyone visiting the island to do this experience of you never have done it before. A wonderful memory to take home.

I did the experience on my last day in Naha and it was the perfect activity to end my trip. The instructors were warm, welcoming and explained everything in depth from the steps involved to repair my broken bowl to the traditional Kintsugi practice. The process was easy for someone who is completely new to the practice and there’s support throughout if you need help with anything. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone interested in Kintsugi or looking for a relaxing activity during their trip.

This was a great cultural experience. My whole family participated. We are here in the heat of the summer and this was a great activity to do to get out of the hot sun and learn a little more about kintsugi. The ladies were super sweet and we loved taking home our pottery.

Very relaxing and therapeutic. We really enjoyed a slower paced activity where we learned a lot about the history of lacquer. We were able to pick what we wanted to work on and from there, we went through the process.

Traditional Japanese cultural experience. Great for families. Cool inside, with cup of cold tea at end. The plates are smaller than you think, smaller than a saucer but still beautiful to fix & take home

I have been to Japan (mainly Tokyo, Osaka, and Fukuoka) and have never experienced a kintsugi class. I actually heard of kintsugi through a "Spidey" episode that my eldest child watched and decided to schedule this class on a recent trip to Okinawa. The teachers were very patient and kind and I was able to learn not only about the process, but the beauty in repairing dishes for reuse. This class was enjoyable as well as informative and gave me an insight into a uniquely Japanese culturual experience.

We hope it became a memorable part of your trip.

Such a great activity to get hands on with some culture and art. I loved doing this with my 11 and 14 year old boys. Our host made it easy and approachable with a beautiful product to take home.

Thank you so much! We’re happy you and your boys enjoyed the experience and had a fun time creating together. Hope you enjoy your pieces at home!

This was such a special experience and will be one of the most memorable things I've done while living in Japan. The instructors were incredibly kind, patient, and knowledgeable. They walked me through each step of the Kintsugi process in a clear and easy-to-understand way, making it accessible even for beginners.
I also appreciated the bit of history they shared about the art of Kintsugi—it added a deeper meaning to the process and made it feel even more special. By the end of the session, I left with a beautiful, personalized piece that I’ll treasure as a reminder of this unique experience.
If you're looking to do something truly Japanese and hands-on, I highly recommend this!
Response from Host, Jun 2025
Thank you so much for your kind words! We’re so glad to hear that the experience was meaningful for you. It was a pleasure having you, and we hope your Kintsugi piece continues to bring you joy and memories of your time in Okinawa.

Super interesting not something I would have thought off as a learning skill. So enjoyable with very patience and informative staff. We loved our end result as we did it 🙂. Worth every penny and we highly recommend it as it completely different for the usual shopping shopping of other tours.

I booked this in Tokyo, but I got lost in the subway system. I was glad to find it here in Okinawa. My teacher had the best English of any guides I have encountered on Viator. Don’t miss this wonderful experience. I will now be able to fix my ex-girlfriend’s pottery.
Response from Host, Apr 2025
