Kendo is a Japanese form of fencing that developed in the samurai era. Learn about this unique Japanese martial art from an English-speaking guide with 20 years of kendo experience. You'll get to dress in rented kendo armor and practice combat while learning about samurai culture and kendo etiquette. This is a beginner-friendly sushi making experience in Naha, just off Kokusai Street. Using pre-prepped ingredients like tuna, salmon, shrimp, and egg (subject to season and availability), you’ll learn simple techniques and craft your own nigiri sushi in a relaxed, small-group workshop. A trained host guides you step by step—from handling rice to shaping neatly—so first-timers can join with confidence. After learning the basics, try making your own nigiri and enjoy what you made with tea. It’s a fun way to explore Japanese culture through food. You can also wear a Japanese happi/kimono-style outfit for photos to feel like a sushi master. Staff can take pictures on your smartphone, so you won’t miss the moment. This is a tour-style cooking class where you can visit a market that sells fresh Okinawan fish and experience making sushi, which is rare in Okinawa. At the market, you can interact with the locals and enjoy sake with your meal for an additional fee. We are currently giving away tenugui towels as a bonus to participants!
