Dissatisfied Customer With Refund Decision

I was e-mailed tickets and given instructions to meet at the Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Museum. After 10 min past our meeting time I contacted tour guide via Viator message and asked if she was on her way. No response or call so I notified Viator and agent also tried contacting but she also was unable to contact her. I was then told that someone would be reaching out to me to resolve the problem and that I could request a refund once I submit a request and once they find out why tour guide did not show up or try to contact me. A decision was made to refund only 50% of my payment because tour guide claims she was waiting at our cruise ship and tried to call me which I showed no calls or texts from her. I sent them the e-mail showing the instructions where to meet & time with the tickets. Viator stood firm on their 50% refund which I believe e is so unfair since I showed proof that they sent me the meeting which was not at our cruise ship. They took the tour guides words over my documentation of proof! Very disappointed and unsatisfied with their business.

Riona was a fabulous guide. She is enthusiastic, knowledgeable and young. We had a wonderful day! We saw gardens, Peace museum, and a great time at Miyamima with a fun ferry ride with lovely views and beautiful weather.

5 hour tour of Nagasaki from the cruise port

Justin was a great guide. He was attentive to our needs. We visited the Peace Memorial site, the Ropeway, the Spectacle Bridge and a shopping area near Chinatown. He escorted us back to our cruise ship. We used the local tram system for transportation

Slightly misleading customised Private Tour. Our tour guide Lavi was Sri Lankan and spoke very little Japanese. However her English was very good. Her local knowledge was not great and she took us to all the attractions we would have visited anyway.

We outline that we provide unscripted walking tours through a city with a local - just as you would see a city if you had a friend showing you around. Lokafy allows travelers to connect with locals, and learn about the city from their perspective; things like what it's like to live there, advice on their favorite restaurants, and also connecting on a personal level. As for the Lokafyer not being native, We screen applicants extensively but do not require them to be natives of the city. Generally speaking, we find our international Lokafyers have a special connection to their cities as they have chosen to call them home. As they are not professional tour guides, we do not require Lokafyers to have a detailed knowledge of the city’s history. We hope that the conversations you had with your Lokafyers helped you connect with them on a personal level.
