Longer than advertised and not worth it

The hike was longer than advertised - about 12.5 total miles round trip, which was unexpected. They also didn't say the ride was 3 hours each way, meaning that we were picked up around 6am and didn't get home til 8p, which was waaaaayyy later than the 8-10 hour trip that we signed up for. It was supposed to be private tour, but they had another guide/hiker that came with us. The two guides just talked to each other the entire time, which was pretty annoying. Also, since you are just doing the first gate, it's just a nature walk and there isn't really a payoff at the end at all. You see the "you made it" sign and then you turn around and go back. If I had to do it over again, I wouldn't do it, and I definitely would clarify total time and if you'll be on your own or with a group if you do decide to go with this company.

We will never forget this day hike on the legendary Mt Killimanjaro. We were fortunate to have Joel as our guide who is a consummate professional: his confidence and wisdom about climbing the mountain is due to extensive experience accumulated over many years as a mountain guide. If I were to undertake climbing to the summit I would want Joel to be the guide. For a day trip he is a dear guide!
