I do not recommend this private tour. We purchased the tour expecting to meet with Nickoy Lumbley, who is the person we communicated with before the tour. He said that HE would pick us up at 10:30am and it would be a customized tour based on what we wanted to do. We explained that we wanted a tour that went over the history and culture of Jamaica and didn’t want to do anything touristy or go do major shopping. On the day of the tour, I got a phone call from someone else at 9:45 asking me where I was. I explained that I was supposed to start my tour with Nickoy at 10:30 and the person got angry with me for not being at the pickup point 45 minutes early and he told me that Nickoy asked him to do the tour instead. I tried to speak with Nickoy, but he just passed me back to the angry man, Darius. I ended up having to go with Darius, who was angry the whole tour. He had road rage, almost got into an accident, yelled at the other motorist, and was not an actual tour guide. He told us that he was giving us a city tour and didn’t actually know anything about history when asked. He brought us to a shopping plaza and left us in a store. Then he drove us around to look at houses. We feel like we were scammed and are very upset that our only day in Jamaica was spent with this person.

I also apologize for the confusion about your pickup time and the change in driver. I understand how disappointing it was to expect to meet me personally and instead be contacted by someone else.

Nickoy was an amazing guide for our group. He was on time, friendly, and provided an authentic Jamaican experience from beginning to end.
One of the highlights of the tour was being able to get away from the tourist-filled areas and see more of the real Jamaica. We enjoyed amazing views, experienced more of the local culture, and had some delicious, authentic Jamaican food along the way.
Nickoy kept the experience relaxed and enjoyable while still making sure everyone stayed on schedule. He also made certain we returned to the cruise port early, leaving plenty of time before departure.
We would absolutely book with Nickoy again on a future visit to Jamaica. For anyone looking for a dependable, personable guide who can provide a more authentic experience of the island, Nickoy/ Good Life Tours comes highly recommended!
The tour was custom and we got to see some great traditions and culture of Montego Bay! Our tour guide Decoy was fantastic. He even made adjustments to stay with us and make our experience for our anniversary even better!! Will use him for all future air port transfers when flying into Jamaica.

Nikoy was an amazing tour guide! He was very knowledgeable about his home and shared much more than we anticipated! The personal touches- visiting his church and eating at one of his favorite restaurants gave an authenticity we were not expecting! When in Jamaica next time, we will definitely look for Nikoy!!!!

After booking, I had several questions and sent messages to make sure we would experience the things that were most important to us. Every message received a prompt and helpful response, which immediately gave me confidence that we had made the right choice.
At pickup, our tour guide, Nickoy, arrived on time. The vehicle was immaculate, smelled fresh, and had a great variety of music. Nickoy explained everything we would be experiencing and made sure to incorporate the places and activities I had mentioned in my messages. He shared that he is the business owner and that customer service and customer satisfaction are his top priorities—and that was evident throughout our entire experience.
We wanted to experience everyday life in Jamaica, and Nickoy provided us with an authentic and memorable experience. We traveled through various communities while learning fascinating cultural and historical facts. We visited the local market and downtown Montego Bay, Rose’s Plantation, the Jamaican Cultural Center, Dead End Beach, and many other local sites. We concluded the day with a mountain-top luncheon featuring local tastings and a unique shopping experience.
On our return to the hotel, I mentioned my interest in touring the plantation. Nickoy generously offered to pick me up the following day and take me on the tour. That experience was also incredibly informative and enjoyable.
If you are considering a tour in Montego Bay, I highly recommend booking a customized tour with Nickoy. His knowledge, professionalism, flexibility, and genuine commitment to customer satisfaction made this an outstanding experience. I would definitely book with him again! Nickoy of Good Life Tours Jamaica provided an excellent tour for my family. We are a family of 5, and Nickoy's vehicle had plenty of space for us. His vehicle was really clean, comfortable and new. We did 2 customized tours with Nickoy, one to Kingston and one around Montego Bay. Communication was clear and responsive. He let me know exactly when his van will show up and we have no problem meeting him in front of our hotel. I gave him a list of places that we want to visit, and we saw everything we wanted to see. He knows the best places to get food as well, and we had a lovely lunch with him. If I ever go back to visit Jamaica, I will definitely call him up again for another tour. I would definitely recommend Nickoy to others.
The best part of our Jamaica vacation was this tour! Nickoy is the best, knowledgeable, and shows you places that you wouldn’t typically see on a tour of Jamaica. Since the tour is private, you are able to choose where you wanna go and for how long. You can eat where the locals eat, visit different places, see amazing views. 10/10 experience. Great day to explore MoBay! Jay was amazing, and took us to all the highlights and more. He went above and beyond to share MoBay with us and ensure we were comfortable and happy to whole time. We learned about Jamaica's history, ate fresh mangoes at a fruit stand by the road, dipped our toes in the Caribbean, ate authentic Jamaican food, and got pictures with great views! Communication was easy ahead of time and he was on time to pick us up. 10/10 experience
Nickoy was an amazing tour guide, and this was honestly one of the best tours I’ve had. My Airbnb was slightly outside the usual pickup range, but he still came to pick me up when I requested it, which I really appreciated. I also noticed that there were not many solo tour options listed, but Nickoy offers them and made the experience feel safe, comfortable, and very personalized.
Throughout the drive through Montego Bay and during the tour itself, it was clear that he was knowledgeable and truly passionate about the history of Jamaica. He shared beautiful stories about the island’s history, culture, and his own personal experiences, which made the tour feel so much more meaningful. We visited several spots, including the Hip Strip, Sam Sharpe Square, the Cultural Centre, Rose Hall Great House, and many others. He also took great pictures of me along the way, which was such a nice bonus.
After the tour, he took me to one of his favorite local restaurants, and it was the best food I’ve had on the island so far. If you’re visiting Jamaica for the first time and want a great guide, a warm welcome, and an authentic first look at Montego Bay, I would absolutely recommend this tour.

You know when you are visiting a new country and want to see and experience authentic culture and sights? We do this often in other countries and Nickoy was the perfect guide in Montego Bay. So kind, friendly and proud of his community. He made sure the tour was exactly what we hoped for. Seeing local communities, impacts of hurricane melissa, the culture, incredible food, history. We never felt rushed and had the absolute best time welcoming our first day to Montego Bay. As we get ready to go home and look back at our incredible trip, this was definitely a highlight. If you can request Nickoy, I would highly recommend him.

Amazing custom tour, we snagged tickets the day before and so glad we did. We reached out to Nickoy that same night to customize our tour and we were happily accommodated. We had Darein as our driver and he was amazing. He was very informational, generous, and stayed with us the whole time. He took us to local spots that corresponded with our tour and got us back in time for our cruise. Will definitely be rebooking in the future!
Traveled with my husband and our two kids (5 and 9) and we could not have had a better experience. I am the coordinator for our family and travel often and I searched high and low for the best possible guide for one of my most loved cities, Montego Bay. This was the best option by far and there is NO BETTER option. You will be safe. You will be cared for. And you will get an authentic and fun experience.
Nickoy was fantastic! We were able to see so much of Montego Bay. Nickoy was able to share so much history and facts about the region. He also was really open to customizing what we did; I had two teenage boys with me and we leaned into the culture and food. And the food! He took us to some great spots and Jamaican food did not disappoint! Such a great day, highly recommend!

We woke this morning with the news our Ship could not dock at Montego Bay and was going to Falmouth Port instead. This was such a disappointment however I contacted Nikoy who rearranged things and picked us up anyway, some 30” from our original meeting point. We agreed to take another couple who were left without a Tour and had a great few hours, seeing everything Montego Bay had to offer.

We canceled our scheduled short excursion from the cruise ship because the buses that were taking passengers could not accommodate a walker. The private tour with Niko Lumbly I love us too keep the walker without worrying about its storage and give us the opportunity to see several of the up the hill neighborhoods were ordinary, Montego Indians live. Nick couldn’t have been more friendly and informative, and we finished up our three hour tour at one of his favorite restaurants were seemed to be the only tourists and enjoyed food that was good, and the view of the bay was fine. The gift shop we stopped at was designed for people who love to bargain and deal with obnoxious high pressure “helpers” in the store. Viator is lucky to have someone like new Koi available to show people around.
If you really want to see the real Jamaica this tour is amazing Nikoy was a fabulous guide and we would recommend this to everyone
