This tour was brilliant and one of the best things I’ve done in Australia! Ray was a brilliant tour guide and super informative. The views were incredible and we were so lucky to see wild koalas and kangaroos. Just the perfect day and I couldn’t recommend it more!

It was an extremely bad experience. The tour provider did not come to pick up us (me and 5 others at Southern Cross station, Melbourne). They did not call to offer apology. Our one full day got ruined. The company is a fraud. Viator should take action against the provider. We are not going to recommend viator to anyone else.

They never showed up to pick us up. They skipped a pick up spot or they’ve change it and didn’t warned the people that was waiting on that pick up spot. So, the trip never happened. They don’t answear, just disappeared. Seriously, horroble experience

THIS A TOTAL SCAM.. DO NOT BOOK THIS. My wife and I showed up 45 minutes EARLY and WAITED 90 minutes AFTER the designated pick up time and the driver NEVER PICKED US UP or NOTIFIED us. Then VIATOR made us jump through hoops for a refund. As of this writing, I STILL HAVE NOT BEEN REFUNDED..

Terrible service by the tour operator Vast Group and by Viator. About 10 of us were waiting at the pick-up point from 7.30am outside Great Southern Hotel but the bus did not turn up at all. We waited for more than an hour and decided to call Viator and Vast Group but the latter did not pick up at all. The Viator staff just simply told us that the tour operator and did not offer to help, until I asked for a refund which she said will happen 24 hours to 72 hours but it hasn't happened. Very disappointing. Recommend not to book tours by Vast Group, be warned.

AWFUL. Multiple busses showed up and the drivers said it wasn’t our bus so we waited and waited and 30 minutes after the pickup time our bus still had not arrived so we left. There were other couples who had the same problem around us. So unprofessional and so disappointing. Woke up early and wasted so much of our time on holiday. I better get a full refund asap and it will still not be enough to make up for the effort they’ve unnecessarily put me through. DONT BOOK WITH THIS GROUP.

Very disappointing experience.
I was at the meeting point before 7:20 am as instructed and waited for a long time. The tour never showed up. I tried calling multiple times (around 20 calls) with no response at all.
In the end, the tour simply did not happen, yet I was still charged.
This is extremely unprofessional and frustrating, especially for travelers who plan their time carefully. I would not recommend booking this tour unless you want to risk losing both your time and money.

I can’t tell you anything because the tour never happend. My friends and I waited for more than an hour in the cold for the bus to arrive and pick us and it never arrives and now, two days after, we haven’t received any answer from Viator.

Bad management! I received the confirmation all along the days close to the tour day. I also received payment confirmation two days ahead of the tour. A day before the tour, tickets issued by email. Few hours later, received email saying tour cancelled due to number of people not meet the required number to form the tour but offer to change the date or full refund. I wouldn't join the tour any more. I requested a full refund. Not sure if the refund will take forever. Will see! Not recommend for any tourists for this company.

Ray was a very good guide and driver.
Only problem is the bus was a bit old and very squeaky and rattled too much that it was difficult to hear his commentaries.

Bus driver, he is also guide, was so friendly and kind that I didn’t have any issues about trip. He explained in details on history of great ocean road, animals, and so on. That was interesting, and he kept us entertained. One thing i want to point out that when we stopped at the beach, kangaroo place, everyone looked tired and I don’t think it was necessary. But overall, I’m really satisfied with this trip, and it became a memorable moment.

It is a long day but there were plenty of stops and the scenery was really spectacular. Photos of the “12 Apostles” do not do it justice, even though they are now down to 7!
Our driver/courier, Ray, was very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. We took water and nibblies for throughout the day but there were plenty of stops to grab food. The ice cream at Dooleys in Apollo Bay, which was recommended to us due to the many awards it has won, was beautiful - like real ice cream used to taste! There were plenty of bends in the road at various times but I found some travel calm tablets (ginger) helped me along (I am prone to car sickness). All in all it was a great day and not to be missed.

Fantastic views of Apostles and a cute koala-in-the-wild moment too (we got lucky as was roadside as driving past). Be prepared for long hours of driving, including very windy after lunch - don’t eat too much lunch or sit down the back if get car sick, as some of ours found out! Driver/guide Hugh was great throughout whole trip.

Hugh was an amazing guide and driver. He offered lots of history and tips to make the most of our Great Ocean Drive. He has a true passion for what he does and consider yourself very lucky if you get to meet him! The views were absolutely breathtaking and we even saw some wild koalas! It’s a very long day but he makes it very relaxing and enjoyable. Definitely worth it!

It was a really great experience and a very well-organised day trip. Everything ran smoothly from start to finish. Our guide, Ray, was fantastic: very polite, knowledgeable, and he gave us lots of useful and very interesting tips about the places we were travelling through. You can tell he genuinely enjoys what he does, which made the experience even better.
The tour was relaxing but still interesting, with well-timed stops and a great overall pace. I felt comfortable the entire day and could truly enjoy the experience without any stress.
I definitely recommend this tour and I will surely book more experiences in the future.

Way too much driving without breaks. There were MANY vomiting children on the tour but couldn't stop anywhere. Couldn't go to the lighthouse, which was disappointing and not clear why, so had a strange, short half hour stop at Lorne instead and not enough time there to really do much? The worst thing was the driver didn't speak much english, barely spoke and was very hard to understand.

Nice tour. Heading straight to the 12 Apostles and working the way back along the Great Ocean Road.
I booked very last minute. Nice to have the option with instant booking.
The tour was advertised as a 53 seater and we had a mini bus with about 23. Better size. Bus was ok. But could have been a bit better.. better suspension maybe!!
Guide was ok. But it was hard to understand between traffic noise, people talking and maybe bad sound.
Itinerary was lovely. Always wish there was more time. We missed the Lighthouse sadly which was one of the reason I chose this tour. But we had a stop at Lorne which I love.

Booked this as it was on my wife's bucket list to see the Great Ocean Road. However we were allocated seats on the left-hand side of the coach and when it came to (in the driver's words) 'the most iconic part of the tour' those unfortunate enough to be allocated seats on the left (like us) had no views whatsoever of the GOR for its entireity. Nothing! The driver even had the gall to say 'for those sitting on the left you'll only see mountains but if you pass your phones to those sitting on the right I'm sure they'll be happy to take photos for you'. What an insult. If you went to a theatre you would pay less for seats with a Restricted View, while those sitting in the best Dress Circle seats would pay the highest rates. Not on this tour, everyone pays the same but then can't chose where to sit. If you're unlucky like us, you'll get given seats on the left and as a result a thoroughly underwhelming and disappointing experience. A total rip-off in my opinion, unless you're prepared to gamble.

All coaches have both left- and right-hand seating, as well as front and rear rows, and seats are allocated fairly to all guests. For travellers seeking guaranteed seat positions, exclusive viewpoints, or a more personalised experience, private tour options are available in the market at a higher price point and may be more suitable.

It’s a very long day and the timings at each stop didn’t really work. Too short at first stop, then the lighthouse part was cancelled without our knowledge. Tour is marketed with a “guide” but this is essentially the driver who tells you where you are - not much history or knowledge.
