It is a full 2 hrs. Tiziana was an excellent guide with superb historical and art history knowledge. The Palazzo was a historical gem with a wonderful collection of paintings and frescoes. It would always help to have some pre knowledge of 14-16th century Italian history. Tim

The Ducal palace is vast, and so is its history. Tiziana seems to know every nook and cranny of the entire complex, and not just superficially. For every question we had came forth wealth of extra knowledge. You don't get that from a pamphlet or a plaque on a wall. Invaluable.

The tour was exceptional due to the expertise and consideration of the professional, personal guide, Tiziana Portioli. If considering this tour, ask for her. She is worth every Euro/Dollar. Prepare to walk and I would suggest purchasing a guide of the Residence from Amazon and read it before the tour. It will assist your understanding and appreciation of the magnificent frescos.

The Ducal Palace is a truly remarkable visit able to offer a complete immersion in the history and art of the territory, in the power and taste of the Gonzaga court.
Due to various restoration and maintenance works the exhibition route is unclear but the 'help of a 'great guide as Mrs. Tiziana made everything smooth and engaging.
Also interesting is the visit to the Archaeological Museum attached to the complex
