Amazing value for money and a must see for dinosaur lovers

A must go for life long learners. Just plan your parking alternatives

Austin_R, Feb 2026
Park is on a different level of insanely bad. But the natural History museum was amazing. I would recommend finding alternatives parking spots other than the blue lot or green lot, whatever two lots they recommend on their museum parking recommendation website page, don't go there. My gf and I decided to park by the usc dorm campus that had meters. I felt a little better leaving my car on the street of a major school than on a random LA street. And it turned out to be safe enough. I was only expecting to look at their exhibit with the purest form of rocks but we ended up buying tickets to the cat exhibit, nature exhibit and dinosaur bones exhibit. Thought we'd spend only an hour there, ended up spending three. If you love learning come here. Cheap and fun, just plan your parking alternatives.

Museum walk about

Vivian_M, Feb 2026
Parking is rather far from the History Museum, and it may be difficult for seniors. Parking is overly pricey, as well as the food choices. Other than that, there is much to see, and worth the cost.

It was a wonderful experience for us, My baby was very much surprised seeing the animal models as she has seen them only in pictures. Also my baby touched the real crystal .

My trio to the Natural History Museum.

A great look at animals and birds, extinct, endangered and still here. Very enlightening. The dinoisaurs, my favorite.

Natural History museum is amazing our 3+ year over the dinosaurs, water feature and crystals. Recommend bring you own snacks or lunch, the line was quite long.

I had an amazing time...

Claudio_E, Nov 2025
I had an amazing time visiting the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles! The exhibits are beautifully curated, and everything feels so immersive — from the massive dinosaur skeletons in the Dinosaur Hall to the sparkling gems and minerals displays. You can really tell how much care and effort goes into preserving and presenting each collection. The museum is way bigger than it looks from the outside, so plan to spend a few hours exploring. Every room feels like stepping into a different world — nature, history, evolution, and even the present-day urban wildlife of LA. It’s educational, fun, and perfect for both kids and adults. The staff were kind and helpful, the place was spotless, and the layout made it easy to move from one area to another without feeling rushed. My favorite part was seeing how they connect science with storytelling — it makes you appreciate just how incredible our planet’s history is. If you love learning or just want a relaxing day surrounded by fascinating exhibits, this place is absolutely worth it. I’d definitely come back again — there’s always something new to discover!

Magnificant. I would recommend giving a printed map with expositions sites to simplify the search. Booklets with the finest pictures, including minerals may be the additional memory of visiting exposition

Tuesday Morning - Less Crowded

Uriel_A, Oct 2025
We had a fun time at the Natural History Museum. Totally worth a visit. We were a bit shocked by the steep $20 parking fee, but public parking is super limited in the area. Overall, I would visit again, it was nice to get view all the exhibits.

Great activity for solo travelers or families

Amina_O, Sep 2025
I used public transportation to go to the museum because parking is quite expensive. The museum was not too crowded and a nice cool temperature on a hot Saturday morning.!

Before booking, search of any major events taking place in the area.

Xenith_K, Aug 2025
I wanted to stress that my review has nothing to do with the museum, I'm sure the museum itself is a wonderful place of education. The day I booked my tickets, there was a game at the stadium next door. I was traveling with an elderly family member. Parking was the issue and will remain the main issue. Additionally, available parking was starting at $40.00 which was 3 to 4 blocks away, if not further. We decided to head to Santa Monica Pier instead. If you're planning a visit, it's best to use public transportation. I was not familiar with the area as it was my first time there. I'll be well prepared for my next visit. It's important to search for any major events taking place in the area to avoid unnecessary stressful situations.

Very informative. Lovely display of dinosaurs.

Felicia_N, Aug 2025
We arrived around 10:30am and there wasn’t much of a crowd. It got busier after lunch which is when we were done. There is an amazing display of dinosaurs, which was the main reason for us going. They have other displays and overall it’s beautiful and educational.

Museum was wonderful! Be prepared to do a lot of walking inside, but all of the exhibitions are worth it. Just a note, due to construction, parking is a distance from the museum.

A day in museums

nellie_g, Oct 2024
Everything is so exciting ,, the past is so educational and fantastic show in the museum wonderful collection of the past ,, very nice for students and kids ..

Didn't tell us there was a special event and the museum was closed; wasted our money

Ariana_K, Oct 2024
We booked tickets for this day; it said they were open until 5, but when we got there, they said they had closed for a special event at 2. So we wasted money to go to the museum and almost $100 in cab fare.

The Natural History Museum Is Worth The Trip

Kathleen_P, Jul 2024
We took our granddaughters, ages 12, 16, and 20 who were visiting from to visit from New Jersey. They have visited several of the museums in Philadelphia, but have never seen dinosaurs on the scale that the Natural History Museum has. They were truly impressed with all of the museums exhibits, but they were the most impressed with the dinosaurs!

Awesome day

Stella_L, Jul 2024
My grandkids were visiting from out of state, they were so thrilled with the whole experience. This was a very educational, fun and exciting day for myself and grandkids. I would recommend museum to anyone. My grandkids already asked if they could return here next time they come to visit.

Don't miss this!

Nimmy_K, Jul 2024
Loved the bugtopia display and the dinosaurs !! Truly an amazing exhibit and the kids learned a lot!

Disappointed

Cindy_R, Jul 2024
Empty parking lot but the they said it’s full. They made us go to the big parking lot to pay higher price due to the concert event. I was with a 5 years old and having to walk extremely far to get to the natural museum with how much we paid, it’s ridiculous and have my son sees all these people going to concert with dress revealing and smoking. We would never go back there until the science museum is done and we might give it another chance. Disappointed!!

Kid friendly

Priscilla_D, May 2024
Very kid friendly and interactive. Good for all ages and plenty to do and see and learn. We forgot our lunches but they had a café and friendly staff

Matthew rhe Magnificent
