Lovely experience to discover Naxi culture through food. You will learn a lot about culinary traditions at the market and cook a delicious meal that is easy to cook and to replicate at home. Fancy host I lovely and kind, I highly recommend it!

A Hidden Gem in Lijiang

For tourists wanting to experience the actual culture of Lijiang outside of the commercialized Gucheng, this class is for you. Fancy is extremely knowledgeable about all the things in the locals’ market and was able to answer all of our questions. Thanks to her expertise, we bought the freshest ingredients to make our lunch, which we ate at her very charming bakery. This was an excellent way to spend the morning and one of the highlights

1 million miles travelling the world to all sorts of places and i can tell you tourists and fellow viators this is worth every penny. Fancy is an amazing woman with an amazing bakery. She is doing this out of passion and it is one of the highlights of our lijiang trip. I AM not a paid bot, commercial dude or vlogger. But my wife was amazed by her. There is abit of issue with the booking and meeting place but otherwise perfect.

The cooking class with Fancy was very insightful and fun. Along with making traditional recipes, we also got to experience the local market, native foods & drinks and more. Fancy is able to speak many languages and was able to clearly communicate with us. She is very friendly and welcoming, her studio is very well set and wholesome. We throughly enjoyed Fancy’s cooking class, the food was delicious and we got to experience tasting the best croissants of Lijiang, which her husband makes. I would recommend this cooking class to anyone who is in Lijiang, and is interested in learning more about the local culture.

La temps passé avec Fancy était incroyable ! Nous avons pris le temps dans le plus grand marché de Lijiang, à l'abris des touristes, pour découvrir toutes les variétés de produits que nous ne connaissions pas et poser toutes nos questions. Cette visite était également une belle occasion pour que Fancy nous explique les spécificités culturelles et traditionnelles de la région : de la médecine traditionnelle chinoise aux différentes minorités ethniques et culturelles du Yunnan qui viennent à ce marché acheter ou vendre. Bien évidemment nous avons pu déguster quelques produits locaux. Les saveurs, les couleurs, l'ambiance valent vraiment le coup ! Le cours de cuisine par la suite était passionnant. Fancy a bien pris le temps de nous expliquer la manière de faire et l'origine des produits. Les plats cuisinés : une salade au poulet, gingembre et coriandre de Birmanie ; une soupe de nouilles traditionnelle au porc noir et à la ciboulette chinoise ; un dessert frais a base de noix de coco, de mangue et de riz violet. Tout était excellent. Fancy nous a même proposé des idées d'alternatives pour reproduire l'expérience chez nous en France ! Nous sommes repartis avec un sac de fruits frais du marché qu'elle nous a offert. Sa gentillesse, sa patience et ses connaissances, dans un français parfait, ont fait de cette expérience un moment mémorable de notre séjour dans le Yunnan.
