It would have been the same if we had taken a grab or a taxi to go to the points. The driver waited in the car and doesn't add value to the experience. They could improve the experience for the clients.
Our driver Duad was very accommodating, friendly & knowledgeable. We asked to do sky cab/sky bridge first on tour & he agreed & it was great-not many people nor lines & amazing views! Afterwards went to see downtown, memorial, eagle statue & then back to our cruise ship. That was all we wanted to do. Saw monkeys & eagles!

The full day trip was great. Our driver Daud was an excellent driver, allowing us to relax as he drove us round Langkawi to the various stops. We were never time pressured and felt able to spend time at each place. The itinerary worked very well for us and we enjoyed all of the stops. We would thoroughly recommend this tour.

This was an incredible trip, we loved it so much! Our driver, Achim, was so patient and kind! Since it was a private car we had some flexibility and was able to spend time at the beach. He also suggested the most incredible restaurant! We picked out our crabs and the restaurant/farm cooked it to perfection! It was our favorite restaurant of the trip!
The Langkawi Sky Bridge was incredible!

Dean was our tour guide/driver for this private tour for the 4 of us. He was there at the port greeting us. He asked about what we would prefer to do regarding the itinerary he had planned for us. We asked for and Dean drove us to visit a local fruit stand/market to buy and taste the various exotic tropical fruits as well as to have lunch at a local restaurant offering typical Malaysian regional Langkawi foods. We all enjoyed this tour and would highly recommend Dean as a tour guide/driver.

Our only complaint was with the tour operator who the night before asked for the weight of all the participants to determine the size of vehicle to send. This was very offensive. When we talked with him and said that there were 6 of us and the approximate weight as some didn't want to tell their weight, he commented that there seemed to be some larger individuals. The vehicle he sent was not comfortable at all for the six of us. We were cramped and very uncomfortable. Regarding the tour itself, we were very pleased with our tour. Our guide was Dean who was very good and very informative. We knew the main sights we wanted to see and he made a wonderful recommendation about a Mangrove Boat Tour that we might like. We took the tour and it turned out to be the highlight of the day,. It was so much fun seeing the eagles and the monkeys (one of which came on the boat and stole a water bottle). We would recommend this tour if provided with the proper size vehicle.

Daud picked us up on time, he drove us carefully round the island - we stopped at the eagle, waterfall, beach and finally the sky cab. Each time he drove us or took us right to the entrance, and was always visible when we had finished each visit. A really good way of seeing the island.

We had a great tour guide but he did not speak English at all so we didn't understand anything. Would not recommend.
The overall experience is good. One point is that the ticket for the sky bridge is only for guests to walk up and down to the sky bridge, not include the tickets for the sky bridge glide, which was disappointed because many guests are seniors and unable to walk many steps. We were hoping that the tour guide told us ahead of time.

Tq but for your info walking nature is also a ticket to the sky bridge. Sky glide is not practical during peak hours as you have to que up to 2 hours. Wasting time

I have mixed feelings about the 6 hours we spent touring the island, guided by a taxi driver.
Yes, we got to see most of the sights in the itinerary, and with it most parts of the island, but we also got “recommended” to do a near 2 hour boat trip, which was very good, but nearly doubled the price we had paid for the tour, (and goodness knows how we would have spent the advertised “6-7 hours” otherwise).
I’m also not sure that either of us appreciated our taxi driver / guide coughing so much through the day in the taxi.

The tour vehicle was not the right size for the party, and we had to complain to get this corrected. We did the first half of the journey in a vehicle that was overcrowded and not safe as we couldn't use our seat belts. We complained to Viator and eventually the tour guide got a larger car to accommodate us. It was a very old car, and smelt of mould. Overall, not impressed with the service and would not use again!

Here is a detailed account of what occurred:
1. Unnecessary Add-Ons and Overcharges
• The driver first took us to Eagle Square, which was part of the itinerary, but then insisted on an ATV ride at an external agency. This was not included in the package, and she claimed it would be a “great experience.”
• We reluctantly trusted her, but the ATV provider charged us 472 Ringgit (106 USD)—grossly overpriced compared to the local market rates of 80-120 Ringgit (27 USD maximum).
• The entire situation felt exploitative, leaving us with no alternative but to comply due to her persistence.
2. Attempted Overcharge at Mangrove River Ride
• Following the ATV ride, the driver took us to the mangrove river ride agency, where we were asked to pay 500 Ringgit.
• By this point, we recognized the pattern of exploitation and refused to participate.
3. Delay at Cable Car Ride
• On the return journey, we were forced to wait 25 minutes at the cable car ride as the driver left to attend to personal matters, further disrupting our experience.
4. Overpriced Driver Charges
• Upon review, we discovered that the standard rate for drivers in the area is approximately 150 Ringgit (34 USD)—a stark contrast to the inflated charges we incurred.
It is evident that this driver prioritized her personal agenda and kickback arrangements with local agencies over ensuring a genuine and satisfactory experience for her passengers.

I took this Private one day Highlights Langkawi tour on 11th October with my wife and 10yrs old daughter Kairavi.
Abu Bhai was our chauffeur and guide. He reached our pick up location well ahead of time and patiently waited for us to get ready.
He made our day tour amazing with his clear knowledge about the area and history. He gave personalised care to all the three of us and communicated in a very friendly yet professional manner.
He explained about the different spots where we stopped.
The cable car ride was amazing. This was the longest and steepest that we had ever experienced so far. It was drizzling and the view was spectacular.
We had a great time and would opt for the same trip once more, possible taking along more friends this time.

The driver was on time. The driver took us straight to a ATV tour with view of waterfall. The guy charged us 400 RM for 30 minute tour and most of it was was watching a waterfall. I specifically told that I am not intereted, but driver keep insisting that this has to be done. I paid the money with no options.
Then he took us to the Magroove Bay tour and asked to pay 500 RM, I told that I am not interesed. I wanted to follow what I booked in the tour.
This is a total rip off, you sell something else and when you reach there, they force to do something totally different and keep paying big amounts as extra.
Locations we travelled to were as advertised. Our guide, probably due to limited English, was not very informative, though friendly.

Absolutely worth it, our guide Fatin was amazing, very helpful and full of knowledge. We opted to do the mangrove tour to fill in some time at her recommendation, as there was a delay with the cable car due to weather. Glad we did, it was one of the best parts of the day!

A great trip around the island with Eddy our driver and guide. He was only too helpful and fitted in all he could within our tight time frame on shore from the cruiise port.
Fast track tickets to the cable car and sky bridge included.
Was only too happy to stop for photo opp's.
I've seen some reviews saying it's a glorified taxi ride, but for us it was a safe, pleasant, organised trip around a beautiful island and great value for money.
Would and hopefully will use again and would recommend to anyone. Well done guys and EDDY.

Die Tour hat nicht stattgefunden weil der gebuchte deutschsprachige Guide nicht bereitgestellt wurde. Storno wurde nach telefonischer Rücksprache von der englisch sprechenden Fahrerin angeboten und nun warten wir auf den Refund. Viel Zeit ging verloren und es war sehr ärgerlich - schade.
Wir haben aber mit Viator schon mehrfach positive Erfahrungen gemacht.
Tolle Tour um einen ersten Eindruck über Langkawi zu bekommen. Perfekte Organisation von der Abholung am Schiff.
