Itinerary

Meet a driver at your hotel in Kuching city for an 8am departure, then begin the 53-mile (85-km) trip to Gunung Gading National Park, a roughly 1.5-hour drive. You’ll be driving through a countryside landscape of villages and farms, then pass through the fishing community of Lundu.

Upon arrival at Gunung Gading National Park, begin a 4- to 5-hour hike into the forest, trekking towards Waterfall No. 7, a site where the rafflesia flower is known to bloom. Trek past a series of waterfalls, moving across steep terrain, and listen to the sounds of birds and wildlife in the tropical foliage.

There’s no guarantee of spotting a rafflesia in bloom—the flower has a brief flowering period, which depends on the natural cycles of pollination, but with an expert guide to lead the way, you’ll have the best possible chance of finding one.

If desired, pause for a swim beneath the waterfall, then begin the return trip to the park entrance. This full-day tour concludes with transfer to Kuching city, and drop-off at your hotel.
