Choose a morning or afternoon departure, then meet a guide at your hotel for transfer to the first stop of the day, Kuching South City Council, Sarawak’s governing authority, and the seat of local government. You’ll get a view of Charles Brooke’s Fort Margherita from the waterfront, and continue on foot to the Kuching Civic Centre, a futuristic building with panoramic views of the surrounding city.

Keep walking through the heart of the city as your guide shares historic facts and stories about Kuching, and see the dramatic Astana on the north bank of the Sarawak River. Once the home of the Brooke dynasty of White Rajahs and their Ranees, or queens, the Astana is now the official home of the Sarawak governor.

Take in the Old Colonial Courthouse, whose clock tower and granite obelisk recall the time of the second White Rajah, and finish the day at the Sarawak Museum, which explores Borneo’s history, traditional cultures, and landscape. This tour concludes with drop-off at your Kuching hotel.
