Sally was an excellent tour guide during our Bako tour. She was very knowledgeable, friendly, and kind. She pointed out all the monkeys, snake, and wildlife on the tour. I was the oldest person on the tour. She offered for a boat to return me to the Bako center on the return. The boat could not come so the other 6 people went ahead. Sally stayed with me and helped me over the difficult parts of the trek. I made it thanks to Sally’s help and kindness.
She made the tour very special for me and the others on the tour. She is an asset to your company.

We had the best day, our guide was fantastic.managed to see Proboscis Monkey, a huge family of Silver Leaf Monkeys (including a few babies), Bearded Pigs, Long-tailed macaque (on arrival straight from boat), flying lemur, and green viper. Surpassed my expectations for sure! Great trip
Very enjoyable tour and a great way to access a National Park and see the diversity of the countryside outside the city.
The tour incorporated a mini bus, small boat, and walking which all added to the experience, and arriving at the National Park by boat particularly showcased the spectacular rock formations of the cliffs on the way in.
Our guide Salih was terrific and made the tour especially enjoyable for us. He was friendly and professional and lives in the area, so he had a lot of information and insights about the park and its history, and a strong knowledge of the plants and wildlife in the park.
Salih was very adept at spotting and pointing out wildlife, so we got to see a wide range of animals and plants - though unfortunately we did not get to see any proboscis monkeys.
Salih also ensured that the pace of the tour suited the participants and their abilities so that we got the most out of the tour.
The lunch at the Visitor Centre was excellent with a wide range of very tasty local dishes available. Park Rangers and café staff were friendly and the facilities were clean and tidy.

Very very nice and interesting experience! And the guide was very expert and insightful! Maybe you should specify that for the boat transfer you could bring with you some sandals (since you have to remove your shoes), but overall a very nice experience!

- Good comms with tour company on WhatsApp before pick up
- Driver to the Bako boat terminal was friendly and pointed out landmarks on the way
- Park guide was good and receptive to questions
- Walk in the park was great - at points the path was steep so beware if you struggle with walking (overall is an easy walk) - we only saw a single monkey on the walk however
- Boat ride was fun despite the waves!
- Food at lunch was adequate despite the seemingly abandoned feel of the restaurant
- Transport was punctual and efficient
Poor points
- Incredibly expensive for what it was at over £90 per person ($108) in a country where the exchange rate is favourable
- It came to over £180 for 2 however organising it by yourself would cost £60 for 2 - we would recommend getting a taxi to the boat terminal yourself (ask at your hotel/hostel to help book), jump on a water taxi and pay for ticket the entrance. Most if not all animals can be spotted at the entrance to the park by the cabins so do not need a guide
- Most of the time was spent walking around the cabins spotting monkeys and pigs - not the most inspiring of settings however good to see the wildlife
- The guide was good and pointed out trees along the forest walk however we moved at a snails pace - I ended up taking the lead as the 6 people on the tour were bunched up behind the guide
- We only saw a single monkey on the forest walk - most of the animals were at the beginning by the cabins
- There was trash and plastic EVERYWHERE which was very sad - this is not caused by the park but there needs to be some sort of recognition and maintenance by the park management - monkeys were holding on to plastic bottles etc, beaches covered in plastic, mangroves covered in plastic
- Lunch was fine and included a bottled water however for £92 per person could include a soft drink too which needed to be purchased separately.

Good Day
Bajo National Park features multiple biomes and a complete ecosystem ; beach vegetation ,cliff vegetation ,heath forest ,mangrove forest, mixed dipterocarp forest , grassland vegetation and peat swamp forest. This are documented by Sarawak Forestry Department as well as variety of carnivorous plants. This is the best place to see species endemic to Borneo, but like many wildlife they shy away.
For the exemption of the animals that hang-out at the cabins/park entrance , greeting our arrival and also looking out for their species if we are a treat. Although we would like a close-encounter with the many species of animals, not being able to spot them on the hiking trail is a good indication, the animals are not dependent on humans. My apologies on the trash during your visit, this needs to be address by park management. A National Park fee is imposed for all visitors which goes to the upkeep of the park. No reason for those plastic trash. Tidal waves bring in ocean plastic waste, washout on our beaches and adjoining mangrove area's. No any amount of explanation can resolve except to clean the plastis waste and prevent any animals from consuming or from monkey's taking it as souvenir's , preventing the monkey's from recognizing that plastic bottles are a source of tasty treats.
Pretty cool tour. Our guide picked us up from the hotel and brought us to take a private boat to the national park. Due to the low tide we had to wait 1.5 hours at the pier, though. I wonder if that could've been avoided, i.e. if we could have been picked-up a little bit later (I coild have ised the extra sleep).
The boat ride was smooth, then we walked in the forest looking for monkeys (we saw several silver-leaf monkeys, close-up, and we also got lucky and managed to see proboscis monkeys, although they were quite far away). We also saw bearded boars and "giant lizards".
After the lunch break (included in the price) we walked some more, through a forest-path, and ended up on a beach. There, our boat was waiting for us and took us back to the starting point. Pur guide then dropped us off at our hotel again.

Thank you for the review. It really helps to let us know how we may improve the tour experience. However the waiting at the pier on this particular day was unavoidable. I check with the tour guide and was informed due to low tide the boat men advise not to cross the river as the boat will get stuck in the muddy riverbank. Phone reception is low in this area, hence their was no way to warn travelers to delay their plans.
This does not always happen , now it is rainning season and we are experiencing King Tide.

This tour was exceptional. Bako National Park is quite remote and our guide Phillip was very knowledgeable about the area. Very comfortable ride there and the boat ride was quite nice. The island was really full of nature and he went out of his way to find things and accommodate wildlife sightings.
Overall, this was a good trip from Kuching City. Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. Definitely worth having a guide as there are numerous trails to explore. The guide keeps you on track with time schedules.
The description and picture for this trip is not accurate. You do not get to see the rock formations unless you pay an extra 60 Ringgit for a boat ride out to the formations. The guide will help to hire the boat if you let him know at the beginning of the trip. Also, there was no boat ride to the swimming beach for a swim. The trip strictly consisted of the boat ride to and from the park, hiking and lunch.

Purtroppo devo scrivere una recensione negativa, non causata dal posto ma dall’agenzia che ci ha guidati.
Era stata promessa un’escursione di 8 ore mentre in tutto ne abbiamo fatte 6 il tutto dovuto ad un “maltempo” che difatto non era cosí ostacolante.
Una volta arrivati al parco la guida ci ha fatto fare un giro veramente basico, circa 50 min di camminata, il resto è stato tutto sprecato in attese e momenti inutili.
Nessun animale avvistato se non alcune scimmie sulla spiaggia che rovistavano nella spazzatura.
Un vero peccato perchè il parco merita davvero a mio avviso.
Prezzo di Viator troppo alto, è un’esagerazione pagare 113 euro.
Quest’escursione va pagata al massimo 60 euro. Prenotate in loco.
Flott tur til en fantastisk park. Fikk sett det meste av det vi ønsket og litt til. Kunnskapsrik guide som ledet oss igjennom dagen. Fikk 3 timer i parken og det var synd når turen tar 8 timer. Så er det prisen, det er dyrt og man kan få billigere jungeltrekking andre steder i verden f.eks Sumatra får man en heldags tur for en tredjedel av prisen. Nå er det sikkert stor forskjell på prisnivået mellom Malaysia og Indonesia. Men vurdere du en tur, dra til Bukit lawang på Sumatra og se orangotang.
