Very enjoyable, informative and interesting. Our English speaking Mari Mari guide was good. Lots of sampling of tribal eats and drinks. Very busy so groups overlapped. Taxi driver Napoleon was great.

IT IS NOT A PRIVATE TOUR you will be with 12 other people and wait and wait for everyone to be ready . The tour company doesn t answer to you before during or after the tour. The village is cute ! Don t expect Viator to refund because they don t care so go to other companies.

I am not going to fault anything here, it was an amazing experience. The guides were amazing ( our guide was Aril) and we felt really good taken care of. They are all knowledgeable and really want people to learn about the culture and the tribes of Borneo. The traffic can be horrible, it can rain, changes can happen to your trip, but none of this matters as long as the experience is great, and it really was 🙂 Thank you so much 🙂

The tour itself was excellent. 5 stars to the experience, and our guide Zul was engaging. The transport there left much to be desired and was overpriced after i calculated how much the ticket price cost us. The driver was late in picking us up, saying he had to go to the carwash, and the main coordinator said no rush when we contacted him. There is no value add for this package - only overpriced private transfer and the driver going over to register for you at the venue. Book this only if its last minute and you cannot get your own transport.

Loved the Cultural Village but Not the Tour Operator

The cultural village was great, but I do not recommend booking through this tour operator. I am a solo traveler and Viator only lets you book if you pay for two people (found out later I could have booked private transport for much less than they’re charging), and to my surprise ended up being a private transfer. I wasn’t feeling well that day so I told the driver I was skipping lunch and asked if we could head back early. He said we had to stay for lunch, so I assumed we were transporting others back. However it ended up being me sitting there for an extra 45 minutes watching my driver have a casual lunch with his friend, smoke a cigarette, then buy a drink and chat some more just to be transported by myself back to my hotel. Seems odd to make me wait that long for my driver when I was basically forced to pay for a private transfer.

We had a private booking for 8 people. Unfortunately the driver could only take 7 and 1 of our group was seperated and put in somebody elses car. The tour was very nice, informative and absolutely worth doing.

Village experience was interesting experience and the guide appeared very knowledgeable, dance performance and music was entertaining, food was reasonable but disappeared quickly. Unfortunately our driver appeared disinterested, his vehicle stunk of smoke, he was impatient, and certainly not appreciated

Don't book through Viator or TripAdvisor

We were really looking forward to this. That is why we booked it several weeks in advance. We were to arrive on a cruise ship and wanted to make sure we could get there and back in the time we had ashore. Everything was set up and fully paid in advance. We even got an additional confirmation the day before our tour. We arrived 20 minutes early before our 9 am pick up. At 9:02 we get a message asking us if we can do the afternoon show instead. We cannot because of our ship's departure time. That is why we booked this weeks in advance. "We have too many people. Can you come another day?" No, we are here on a cruise ship for today only. That is why we booked in advance. If you don't have room, why did you take our money 3 weeks ago? Why did you send a confirmation yesterday? Conclusion: Don't book through Viator or TripAdvisor. Find some way to book direct or you will likely miss out.

Highs and lows, better ways to do it.

This tour had highs and lows. Starting with the lows: The transport to the village was disappointing. The driver showed up late and did not communicate anything in advance. The car was far from ideal for a family of for, the 3 in the back really had to squeeze to fit. And on the way back we made a stop at a gas station even though the driver had approx 3 hours to sort that while we were in the village. The high was the village tour itself that I would highly recommend. Very friendly guide and interesting tour. My recommendation would be to book a Grab to the village and buy the tickets there. The drive in this tour had very little value add.

Our driver/ guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. The village tour was an incredible experience with lots of demonstrations. Our guide within the village was very entertaining and interactive. It would have been nice to have a lunch at village but unfortunately not available so we enjoyed modern day local lunch instead.
