Falsely advertised time duration

DISAPPOINTED I booked and paid for this tour a few months prior, it stated the duration as 11 hours, then the night before they message me to say the duration will be 12.5 to 13 hours. this made it impossible for me to do as it would get me back to my motel after I needed to be at the airport for my flight. i told them this and they refused refund. I felt that the tour was falsely advertised and that they should honor the refund. lesson learned never book a non refundable tour as things may change and you lose your money

We would like to clarify a few points for the benefit of both yourself and future guests. Our Viator product listing states the tour duration as “APPROXIMATELY 11 hours”, and the itinerary clearly indicates an estimated/expected tour ending time of 1900HRS. The listing also states clearly that “Time stated is for reference only and may change due to unforeseen circumstances.” As this is a shared tour / join in tour (SIC) involving transportation, traffic conditions, weather, road conditions and arrangements for multiple guests, the actual duration and return time cannot be guaranteed to an exact time. Regarding the cancellation, your request was received less than 24 hours before the scheduled tour. By that time, transportation, meals, tour guide services and other necessary arrangements had already been confirmed and committed for your booking. Under the applicable cancellation terms, a refund was therefore not available. As a gesture of personal service, our team also contacted you directly on the day before the tour ( at around 9-10pm) to explain the expected timing and discuss the situation. At that time, you confirmed that you would proceed with the tour the following day. Unfortunately, you subsequently did not arrive for the tour. We fully understand that your flight schedule made the revised estimated timing unsuitable for you, and we regret the inconvenience this caused. However, we respectfully believe that the tour was not falsely advertised, as the duration and estimated ending time, together with the applicable timing disclaimer, were CLEARLY stated in the Viator product information at the time of booking. We value our guests and always make every effort to communicate clearly and assist whenever circumstances change. We hope this clarification provides a better understanding of what occurred. We wish you smooth travels on your future journeys.

Ross, our guide, did a great job telling us about the area, flora and people. I enjoyed his energy. The canopy walk was a little scary but fun to do. The ice cream at the farm was delicious.

Not a good trip for me unfortunately. Reached out to Viator about it and they were very kind. Very expensive for what you get - which is mostly just a terribly long and bad car ride

I would not recommend this tour. It takes a long time to get there, the bus. I had a weak engine. the program is not really interesting, actually only the visit to the canopy walk. The bathing in Hot Springs id not foreseen, the visit to the diary farm is something I would not normally do. t”the guide was not very committed to delivering us the best experience

The journey to Kinabalu park and poring hot spring is winding uphill road with some portholes along the way and on some sharp uphill turns, Hence, the bus cannot goes fast for the safety of our guests, which is our main priority. Your statement of "weak engine" is totally baseless. We are disappointed that our offered services did not meet your expectation at this time. we will look into your comments and hope we are able to provide better service to our guests in the near future. This was the best rainforest tour ever ! The views of Mount Kinabalu were incredible, the canopy walk in the park was sensational and was the only part that required some kind of physical effort. The desa farm was good (try their ice cream, it’s homemade and delicious !). Rosran was a very funny and joyful and knowledgeable guide as well as a good driver. He went the extra mile to find out if rafflesia flowers had bloom in that region and we managed to find not one, but two rafflesia flowers at a local conservation garden ! (Take an extra 30 RM/pax to pay the conservation fee).
