Best Ring of Kerry tour is a must see to experience western Ireland coast. Beautiful views around every turn with lots of photo opportunities. Lunch and comfort stops with time to explore. Our guide Dennis provided history, stories and Irish music. This was our second Deros tou; so gracious and accommodating.

Great Ring of Kerry tour. Our tour guide, Mike, was wonderful, helpful, and knowledgeable. Would highly recommend this tour. We brought our 3 year old and it was the perfect length of time where he didn’t get bored, frequent stops.

Overview

The Ring of Kerry and the Killarney National Park take pride of place on the Iveragh Peninsula, with some of Ireland’s finest coastal scenery—but the 110-mile (177-kilometer) journey makes sightseeing a challenge. This convenient full-day coach tour from Killarney makes it possible to complete the route in a day. Plus, take in traditional coastal villages such as Cahersiveen, Derrynane, and Glenbeigh. Visit the historic Bog Village with a guide, and discover top natural attractions including the Killarney Lakes, Rossbeigh Beach, and Macgillycuddy's Reeks.
  • Check off multiple highlights of the area in just one day—great if you're short on time
  • Travel onboard a comfortable coach instead of tackling the roads yourself
  • Benefit from an easy-to-find meeting spot in the middle of Killarney

Itinerary

Meet your guide in central Killarney and take a seat on board an air-conditioned coach. Then, head out of town and along the famous Ring of Kerry, widely considered Ireland’s prettiest stretch of countryside.

Visit the Bog Village, home to traditional thatched-roof cottages, and learn about life in Ireland during the early 19th century. Perhaps visit the museum village (own expense), and discover top attractions such as the blacksmith’s forge and turf-cutter’s house. There is also an old Irish pub where an early drink or morning coffee and scones can be enjoyed (own expense).

Continue through villages such as Cahersiveen, Derrynane, Glenbeigh, Sneem, and Waterville, and admire sweeping views over Rossbeigh Beach and the Iveragh peninsula. Along the way, learn of famous ex-residents, including Daniel O’Connell—one of the most influential politicians in Ireland’s history.

After lunch (own expense), travel through rugged landscape to Molls Gap and gaze out over peaks including Carrantuohill and Macgillycuddy's Reeks. Journey through the Killarney National Park and capture the pretty Killarney Lakes on camera. Then, return in comfort to your starting point in Killarney to conclude your tour.

Catherine welcomed us with a warm smile as we checked in! The ‘Rings of Kerry’ tour and drive was very picturesque and we soaked in gorgeous Irish splendor! Darren was a fantastic guide and driver! He educated, enthralled, and helped us appreciate Ireland’s rich history, the towns along the way, and the ecology. At the end of the day, Killarney was lovely, quaint and we had a wonderful time ringing in the new year as a family!

Awesome Tour!

KIT_P, Mar 2026
Our driver Batt was awesome regaling us with stories, anecdotes and song along the route. We had plenty of time at each stop to get some great photos and enjoy the beautiful views!

A Day Well-Spent

Jeanne_C, Mar 2026
The small bus tour including the Skellig Islands was a rare treat not to be missed. Dan, our driver and guide, provided the right amount of info and humor to make it interesting without turning it into a "history lesson". Highly recommend!

A great ring of Kerry tour - would recommend!

Such a great experience from start to finish. Catherine at Deros was terrific in helping me to plan the tour. She was able to help us book the trip and was very flexible with moving the dates. So helpful. Also, the tour was great! We lucked out on a beautiful and sunny (dry) day, and the tour guide Michael was great. It was a relaxing and enjoyable time. The tour was a great pace with stops for photos, lunch, and other sites such as the waterfall in Killarney National park. Just so nice .

Worth it!!!

Very beautiful landscape, and a very talkative and friendly guide with expertise of the ring of Kerry.

Deros Sightseeing Tours

John_S, Dec 2025
This is a must do when visiting Killarney or Dublin (Deros picks up at the Killarney train station). The Ring of Kerry is very impressive and breathtaking. Our driver, Dennis, is a very professional driver who has a wealth of knowledge that he shares along the route. Our lunch stop, at a pub in Waterville, had tasty food and local experience. The coach is comfortable and handles the challenging climbs and decents with aplomb. Denis also knows the road irregularities and minimized the disruption to the passengers. A lifetime of memories in a single day trip.

Relaxing and mellow

Susan_W, Nov 2025
Pretty but not dramatic. Relaxing and enjoyable. Nice guides and very knowledgeable. Sadly, we went when there wasn't the sheep dog show going on. Bummer.

Batt was a great tour...

Angie_K, Nov 2025
Batt was a great tour guide and was a wealth of information about the area and history. The day was somewhat foggy but the trip was wonderful.

Great tour!

Matthew_C, Oct 2025
Excellent tour. Denis was a great tour guide/driver. It was the perfect way to see the incredible scenery of the Ring of Kerry.

Local entertaining tour

Margaretta_T, Oct 2025
Fantastic experience, the views are stunning! Batt our driver was a superb guide who shared his stories of local life, he was born on the ring and has lived there all of his days. He even sang us a song or two en route. There were plenty of stops and photo opportunities and the lunch was lovely with amazing views and a fast and seamless process. Book with this local firm if you want to enjoy a great day.,

“Batt”ing a thousand!

David_B, Oct 2025
The bus driver — Batt — provided knowledgeable insights throughout the trip, which included both general regional history as well as his own familial connections with places we saw. He was delightful, and even sang a few times. Now, there were a couple of stops which required cash. The company should let you know that. Also, they said you could bring your lunch. What they didn’t warn us about was not being able to eat your lunch indoors since you’re not a paying customer. We found that to be the opposite of the graciousness we’ve experienced throughout Ireland.

I highly recommend, beautiful tour.

Laura_H, Sep 2025
My son and I really enjoyed this tour. The driver was very entertaining and incredibly knowledgeable about the area. It was foggy the day we went so we didn't get to see great views but it was still awesome. So glad we went.

Great Tour and Guide

Denise_H, Sep 2025
We had Batt as a driver and guide. He is very entertaining and knows a lot of the area and the history. The tour had some great planned stops, but unfortunately the weather was bad, so some of the views were blocked. This was no fault of Batt’s, and he gave us the option of stopping or continuing, since we couldn’t see. We loved the sheep dog demo, and the Bog Village stop was nice. He added an extra stop at Torc Waterfall at the end, since we missed some of the views due to the weather.

Worth Every Cent!

Linda_D, Sep 2025
There were numerous stops and breaks, so you will have opportunities to get off the bus, street your legs, take photos, and get a bite to eat. The driver, Denis, kept the travelers on time , and actually added a stop or two bc we were so punctual. Denis narrated the trip so well with information about the area, the economy, Ireland’s history and a few funny sties, too. Everyone on board seemed to have a really good time. Overall, let Viator do the driving!

The best tour

Victoria_R, Sep 2025
The people are great the driver the nicest guy kind and patient with slow folks! Loved every place we went.

Fantastic!

Mirjam_K, Sep 2025
Very interisting Tour. I would definitly recomend it. Enough time at every stop. The lunch restaurant had a very beautiful view.

Just lovely

Rebecca_S, Sep 2025
Lovely Ring of Kerry tour if you want to see the beautiful sites and countryside and not drive it yourself. The tour operator was entertaining and provided a bit of much needed history. I would recommend.

Views, Sheepdogs, and the Batt-man

Colson_S, Aug 2025
Driving the Ring of Kerry is an obvious choice for a day trip out of Killarney. What made this tour special was the sheepdog show and Batt being the most entertaining and knowledgeable tour guide to ever sit behind the wheel. So honestly if another tour takes you by the same sheepdog stop, then you’ll likely see the same things with another company. That just leaves Batt as the differentiator, but boy is he ever. He obviously has to have days off, but if you’re lucky enough to have Batt take you around the Ring of Kerry, you’re in for a treat. The man is hilariously entertaining, a wealth of knowledge, and seems to be a genuinely large part of the local community. He’s an excellent driver to boot! In summary, you could probably get a similar experience on numerous tours out of Killarney, but there’s only one Batt, and it’s probably worth rolling the dice on this tour for the chance to spend a day with the most interesting man in Ireland.

Beautiful

Evelina_P, Jul 2025
Beautiful nature, great dog/sheep show. Winding roads, so be prepared. Lunch was in a restaurant, but you could bring your own. The driver was great.

Dangerous driver

Marilyn_H, May 2025
The driver, Michael, seemed to feel that he was in a race. He raced off after each stop barely letting passengers sit down before he was on the road. He was in such a hurry once he left the door open. Hitting rough spots on the road at speed made our stomachs, necks and backs bounce uncomfortably. Even worse, he just had to pass A BUS GOING UPHILL WITHOUT A CLEAR VIEW ONLY TO MEET A CAR COMING THE OPPOSITE WAY. Luckily the car gave way. This driver is dangerous. Do not book this tour. Stops were okay with the usual touristy tat. Lunch was mediocre at best. When the driver wasn’t trying to kill us, he gave the bare minimum of information about our surroundings.

Ring of Kerry

JamesMIchael_D, May 2025
This is a full day trip of the Ring of Kerry. Had a wonderful day our driver Batt was so knowledgeable and entertaining he made the day . Would recommend this trip and company .

Great tour

Alexis_M, May 2025
Great driver and tour guide Bat! Well paced and beautiful scenery. Recommend for tourists without a car.

Ring of Kerry tour with Deros Day Tours

JackRyan_C, Mar 2025
I'm sure Michael our driver booked the sunshine for this tour. I've done the tour with deros day tours twice now. Our driver, Michael, was funny and knew a lot about the region that I didn't know before. At some points, I wished we'd made longer stops. It's a shame it wasn't April yet; I would have liked to see the show with the sheepdogs, but if you book in March, there's no show. 😉 But I'll definitely go again to do the Ring of Kerry tour a third time.

Packed a lot into the 5...

Kathleen_W, Dec 2024
Packed a lot into the 5 hour tour, including Rings of Kerry, small towns and Killarney National Park. John our guide was awesome. We learned so much about the history of the area and heard some great local stories. The roads in some areas were very narrow and we are so glad we did not attempt driving this on our own!

Ring of Kerry Drive

Joseph_S, Nov 2024
Although the weather was very challenging, our guide made the trip so enjoyable. Beautiful drive and lovely stops along the way.

Rainy tour

Margaret_M, Oct 2024
Today’s tour was good with the exception of very bad weather. During most of the day we experienced heavy rainstorms that impeded our visibility. Our guide/driver, Sheila was very informative and made the best of a miserable day.

Fantastic tour!

Valentina_W, Oct 2024
Dennis, our driver, was delightful. He played fantastic Irish music and taught us so much about Ireland and the Ring of Kerry. A huge highlight was the sheepdog demo! Absolutely amazing! All of the sites were absolutely gorgeous!
