Bus had shut the door on me half way through walking off the bus and received a massive bruise. The bus was over an hour late to one of the stops and ended up taking an uber to return to where I was staying. There was no “guide” it was a bus driver who did not talk. Would avoid if possible.

We are very sorry to hear about your recent experience on board the Hop On Hop Off Bus Tour of Killarney and this is something we will be investigating fully with the driver who was working the day you travelled with us.
Having looked at your booking, you were travelling with us on one of the days the Citizenship Ceremonies were taking place, which does always cause delays to our schedule due to the volume of traffic this brings to the town. This was advertised on our website, which would explain the delays and we apologise for any inconvenience caused.

There is no narration or history of what you are seeing. Each of 4 sites has an hour in between buses
Driver dropped us at 2 locations that were closed. Had to wait for a ride for an hour at one. We walked back to our hotel from the second.
Expected more.
Not worth the money.

We are sorry to hear about your recent experience on our Hop On Hop Off Tour of Killarney and will be investigating this further.
As we near the end of our season, some of the attractions on our tour are also closing for the season - although there are some lovely walks around the each of our stops, we appreciate you do need the weather on your side to make the most of them.
Also as we only run one bus on this tour, there is an hour allocated at each stop, to allow us to complete the tour and return again - so we must have just missed you at your final stop.

A very worthwhile activity- brings you to beautiful places within the National Park. The driver was very friendly and told us about the local history. We got off at Torc waterfall and walked back along the lake to Muckross House - all stunning scenery.

Brutal way to visit the sites
Bus only comes once per hour
Tours are separate and not coordinated with bus so have to wait a long time to get the bus to next stop
Can only catch bus at one location in town of kilarney
So inconvenient
We unfortunately had a gale on the day we booked the hop on bus and all sites were cancelled after our first stop at Ross castle
Viator did not refund and had asked that I contact provider for refund ..:good luck with that esp when on holiday and travelling to different cities

It was very unfortunate that your day of travel with us was the same day Storm Amy came to visit. Due to this and for the safety of everyone, the majority of the attractions we visit did close for the day after an assessment was made on the severity of the storm.
Our Driver did also make additional trips that day to ensure everyone was returned safely to town.

The schedule isn't clear and we were never able to find the bus to get on. Waste of money because we qerbtbablwnto use it without clarity of where we could meet the bus throughout the day

Was a great way to see all of these sites. You get at least 1 hour at each site. When the bus dropped us off, the driver told us when the bus would return. If you’re not ready at that time, you just stay until the next pick up, but that will be another hour. The bus always returned right where we were dropped off.

This was the perfect way to explore the attractions in Killarney National Park, but it’s really just a bus ride. The description indicated there was a tour guide who narrated, but the driver didn’t talk at all. It was just a way to get around.

If you, like me, did a Quick Look at schedule on a mobile device, where you have to scroll to the side, do not book this service. Turns out, the bus does not stop at 2 main locations at the end of the run! Instead of doing a loop like every other time that day, if you for instance get the last tour at Ross castle, you’re on your own to get home! Or if you wanted to explore Torc waterfall, but didn’t catch the bus until 3 (20 minutes late due to summer traffic) then you’re out of luck and won’t get to see it at all! Such a misleading representation of a bus that should run to each stop. To the management, if you’re having a hard time fitting it in, cut out all those silly stops in the middle or in town that added minutes and keep the main attractions that people are there to see! I’ve never seen anything like it in all my travels.

The Killarney Hop on Hop off managed to spoil not only one day of our trip but also our impression of our stay in Killarney. The bus is supposed to arrive every hour. A schedule is posited and provided, and visitors can adjust and plan their trips. But... the reality is horrible. Frequent bus delays make tourists change their schedule and skip some important and interesting stops. Moreover, several routes are combined without any note. It means, a bus arrives in two hours (instead of one as scheduled) making people wait for two hours standing in a spot without a single bench instead of enjoying the beauty of the park.
The driver complained about traffic in the city but other tourist busses and cars passed by and did not mention any bad traffic when asked. Even if traffic caused some delays, what's about combining several routs?
The Hop on-Hop off company does not respect its customers.

Our Hop On Hop Off driver has the utmost respect for his passengers and on the day in question made sure to speak with all passengers and update them of the tours schedule being affected due to the Citizenship Ceremonies taking place in the INEC on the Muckross Road. These delays were also advertised on social media and our website.
These ceremonies bring thousands into the town and onto our Red Bus route, the only tour of this kind in the town. Other tour companies only pass through and so would not be affected as heavily as our schedule was.
It is unfortunate that you travelled with us on these days as outside of this, our tour does run to the advertised schedule and as you can see from other reviews, they have an enjoyable time on our tour.
It seems as though everyone’s day was spoilt, including our drivers who still managed to facilitate as many tours as physically possible under the circumstances.

Be there on time for departure! We enjoyed this activity but almost missed the first bus by a minute. The driver will not wait for late family members. I’ve on the bus the ride was comfortable and the stops were enjoyable.

I think the red bus needs more bus stop flags indicating where they pick up people outside of mission street. For those that decided to walk from one stop to another.

Very convenient if you're visiting the national park without a car. The pick-up at each stop was mostly on time, and our driver was helpful—he even let me leave my larger bag on the bus. The Ross Castle stop could be better timed, though; you don’t really need a full hour to explore the area, and the castle tour schedule doesn’t align well with the bus pick-up time.

On nicer days there is alos a lovely loop walk which would use up more of your time on this stop, so we like to allow people the flexible timing there, but we appreciate on rainy days a walk wouldn't be ideal!

Pat our driver was great. Gave us good advice on where to spend time. We enjoyed all of the stops especially the fall, the castle and Muckross house where we had a wonderful lunch.

The bus makes one continuous loop. If you get off it is a minimum of one hour to get back on. The driver Pat was a tad bit grumpy, If you are merely looking for transportation that is less expensive than a cab ride it fits your needs otherwise I would not recommend.

At the time we travelled the pick up point had been changed as the normal stop was under construction. Finding the new pick up point was not well marked or communicated. And, with the red double decker bus in the shop, it was even more difficult

If you don’t have a vehicle this service works
However it’s only one bus, so you are at each stop for an hour. My first stop Ross Castle - there was a 45 min tour but it did not align with the bus schedule so after exploring I was ready in 30 mins.
Bussed to the Falls and hiked uphill well past the falls. I returned to bottom and could wait 25 mins for the bus or walk to the next stop that took the same time. I walked. Did the same thing at the house, walked to the Abbey but the bus came as I arrived. It was a 1k hike to abbey and did not think a whole hour here would work for my schedule so chose to miss it.
I would suggest at least one more bus.
