Itinerary
This full-day Ring of Kerry tour by bus meets at a convenient spot in Killarney to pick up you and the rest of your tour group’s members. Board the bus and sit in one of its cozy spots as you set off on your journey.
Your tour takes you on a scenic drive around Ireland’s Iveragh Peninsula. Take in sights from the viewing windows as you ride. Along the ride, see main Ring of Kerry highlights such as Killarney National Park, Killorglin, Kells, Dingle Bay, Molls Gap, Sneem, Coomakista Pass, and Derrynane as your guide points out areas along the route and tells fun Irish stories. Stop at Ladies’ View for scenic views, as well as other break points.
Once your Ring of Kerry adventure is over, your bus drops you back off in Killarney, right where you originally boarded the bus.

Excellent driver, tour guide, narrator! Extremely knowledgeable pointing out many points of interest with associated stories and historical information. A fun guy to be around!
Positives: beautiful scenery and well curated stops. Great sheepdog show. Negatives: Lunch stop was a scam. Overpriced (by a LOT) and terrible food and service. The driver was probably funny and had some good information but we wouldn’t know because we couldn’t hear anything in the back. No one’s fault: If you get carsick easily maybe skip because it’s a rough swervy ride.
So many incredible sights to see! And our guide, Dave, was a wealth of knowledge, friendly, and a great singer!

While scenic, the itinerary was lacking some important information. There were two stops: one at a historic village that had an admission fee. That wasn’t on the itinerary. There was another stop to see a border collie demonstration (which was VERY impressive) that also had an undisclosed admission fee and wasn’t on the itinerary. We liked our driver, however he would mention sites as we were passing them instead of letting us get ready to see them, so I missed a lot of them (and I was second row in).
The sights we did see were spectacular. I got quite a bit of photos for the day.
Side note: the PA system picks up the noise of the buses transmission so while it’s on, there’s a high pitched squeal until he turned it off.
Tour was little long, but it covered a lot of distance and interesting sites. Good blend of bus time and short stops for pictures and food. Driver was good and knowledgeable of area and narrated the tour well.
The Ring of Kerry was full of gorgeous views! I enjoyed all of our stops. The Bog village is a little bit kitschy but interesting and petting the Irish wolfhounds was fun. The sheepdog demonstration was fun to see but focused more on the dogs than the sheep. Our shopping and food stops were nice as well. We stopped several times to admire the scenery and take pictures, which was appreciated but at times a little rushed. John was a great tour guide (although I think he needs a new microphone - had the audio cut out here and there). If I had to give constructive criticism, I would have liked for admission to all stops to be included in the price of the tour and I would have liked a stop or two where we could hike around or spend a little time in one of the towns we passed through. It felt like a lot of time sitting on the bus.
The tour started in a timely manner. The driver and tour guide were both great and very witty. Bring cash, it is helpful at some of the stops. Overall it was a pleasant experience.
Great way to see and hear about the ring of kerry..Our Guide John o Neill.superb and had the gift of the gab,!!.
The Shelherd was a great treat Feel that lunch was a bit pricey. We were lucky the weather was lovely Sunny day.
Highly recommended if you just want to be taken around to a few key stops, knowledgeable guide (as an Irish speaker couldn't fault his knowledge of placenames' origins). Had some nice conversations with others on the tour.
The tour guide/bus driver speaks very irish english. I caught maybe a quarter of what he said. The tour was well organised and on time. All in all it was a good experience.
Excellent use of your time. Saw everything we needed to see. Guide did a great job keeping us informed. Only downside was finding the meeting place, took locals to point us in the right direction - could not locate with google maps.
Seeing as it was a rainy and gloomy day, the experience was great. Can’t control the weather. The bus driver was great. He was very knowledgeable. Overall experience was good.
The views are beautiful. You get charged additionally for 2 of the stops-this wasn’t listed at time of booking. The driver is also the tour guide.

Get there early. Bus was full. Mike was very good as driver and guide during the day. Should have used a bigger vehicle though.
Absolutely wonderful experience with the most knowledgeable guide I’ve ever met! We learned so many interesting facts about Irish history and the west coast.
The entire trip was amazing! We were able to stop at so many places to take pictures/walk around towns and the lunch spot was delicious! Mike was such a great commentator and had some great jokes. Can’t recommend him and this trip more!

Our guide, John, was hilarious, engaging, and incredibly knowledgeable. He kept the day lively with his humor and fascinating stories about the history and culture of the region. The scenery along the Ring of Kerry was absolutely unreal, every stop felt like a postcard come to life.
The sheepdog demonstration was such a highlight! It was amazing to watch the dogs work so skillfully. And yes, John has a true Irish accent, which only added to the charm. I had to listen closely at times, but had no trouble following along. Overall, a fantastic experience that I’d highly recommend to anyone visiting Killarney!
Unfortunately the weather was not on our side the day of our trip but that’s the Irish weather for you. Despite that we had a really lovely day & Michael was a fabulous tour guide & brightened the day with his knowledge & humour.
Mike was so amazing!! What a great tour guide and what an incredible tour. The views just can’t be beat. Lots of great stopping points and I left with a ton of brilliant photos.
This tour with Wild Kerry Daytours was super. The Guide/Driver was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, accommodating, and a bit quirky, which we found endearing. It was a rainy, foggy day, so we couldn’t always see vistas, but that didn’t spoil anything for us. The fish and chips we had at lunch at The Lobster in Waterville was among the best we’ve ever had. But the main point is that the decision to join a bus tour rather than drive the Ring ourselves was our best decision of the entire trip!
Seems like a very typical tour. John was charming & authentic, and knew his history. The star of the show are the amazing vistas, especially the second half.
We stopped at the same places you read about. Kells Sheepdogs is an absolute winner, but skip the Bog Village Museum. It would be nice to have a lunch stop in a village with choices instead of another tourist stop with gifts and just OK food.
Very hard to understand the driver. Muffled words and sound on the mic.
Unfortunate that many of the stops required additional tickets that cost money, after already paying for the tour.
Our driver, John was very knowledgeable. Stopped numerous times for photo opportunities and breaks. Would definitely recommend this tour.
Fantastic tour with one minor quibble. Please skip the peat village. It seems at odds with the rest of the tour which is a visual feast. I didn’t like that we spent 25 minutes there while we only had 5 minutes at some of the epic photo stops. If you skip the peat village then we could spend a few more minutes taking photos and soaking in all the views.

Our tour guide John O’Neill was amazing. He was funny and did a great job explaining where everything was. Great stops. The best part of our trip was the sheep dog exhibit.
