Just outside the ticket gate at Shin-Kawasaki Station (There is only one gate.) The meeting point is right outside the gate, in front of Kiyoken (Shumai shop). The Google Maps link provided points to Kiyoken. Our guide will be holding a red/orange sign saying "Magical Trip."

This sumo experience was hands down one of the most memorable experiences from my Japan vacation. The instructors had a great sense of humor while teaching the sport. The lunch provided was also delicious. My family enjoyed every bit of it, would highly recommend.

- the retired sumo wrestlers are still young! I was surprised
- they give you shorts to wear to participate in the lessons and sumo wrestling….do it! Then you’ll be in the participant pic
- a great overview of sumo. Watching footage of recent sumo tournaments and a mock one during this experience were very helpful.
- Charlie was fantastic. He really got into the refereeing of the mock tournament.

This was such a fun experience to do while in Japan. We learned so much about the culture, intense training, and way of life. Our host provided us with history, interesting facts, an opportunity to tour the grounds, interact with the sumo wrestlers, and enjoy an authentic meal. If you are looking for a fun filled day that provides a unique opportunity to simulate wrestling techniques with real sumo wrestlers or if you prefer to simply observe, then this experience is for you.

This is tour offered an in depth view into the training, and the lives of sumo wrestlers. You can also get in the ring with them!
It was obvious that these folks have put in a lot of work to make this a premiere experience. I highly recommend this experience!

This was a fantastic experience! We were a group of 10 ppl ranging from 14-52 years and everyone said it was their favourite thing to do in Japan. There was a great explanation of Sumo and the interactions with the Sumo wrestlers were so much fun. The food was delicious also. I would highly recommend this activity.

It was everything I wanted as a long time sumo fan. Charlie was great. He picked us up from the train station and had lots of fun information about sumo. We all had a great time getting to train with the rikishi and even had some solid bouts with them. Afterwards got to have chanko made by the rikishi. I'd recommend it to anyone and I'd also totally do it again just to get a chance to wrestle again.

The sumo experience is a must-do in Tokyo. It offers a rare glimpse into the life of a sumo wrestler, complete with the chance to step into the ring and wrestle a retired sumo. Calling it fun is an understatement. It is exciting, interactive, and perfect for all ages. One of my tourmates was a family with three kids, and everyone was laughing the entire time. The experience ends with a shared meal of chanko nabe, where you can chat with the sumos. We also received sumo handprint signatures alongside our own and a shirt as a keepsake. I loved every moment of it.

Jim was a great guide and very detailed. The two sumo wrestlers who we had the honor of meeting were genuinely kind people. We had such a great time participating in the training session and the lunch was equally as fun. I hope to visit in the future and introduce new friends to sumo and share this incredible experience with more friends!

Convenient pickup from the station in a comfortable van. Hosts were very kind and knowledgeable. The experience was so fun! Very informative information about sumo and getting to actually practice with two sumo wrestlers was so awesome!! The chanko nabe was delicious!! Would highly recommend!!

This was the best day of our trip! It starts off with a quiet educational lesson and a bit of a serious demonstration so I was nervous at first. In fact, you can tell the other guests are shy and quiet too. But it quickly turns into a lively participation and everyone is cheering each other on. Ko-san and Sakurai-san (apologies if I spelled your names wrong!), you have the best personality for this event and I appreciate how challenging it must be to accommodate everyone from all over the world. You're both amazing!

Amazing experience! We were met at the train station by Charlie. We were early, but he was even earlier! We took a taxi (included in the price) to the Sumo stable in a quiet part of town. Upon entry you see the ring and watch some videos of examples of sumo. They do ask that you wear the included shirt and stable shorts to participate in the ring. The two wrestlers entered and it was quite serious and intense, but soon their personalities came out. It was very engaging and the wrestlers were excellent guides into the world of training and competing as a sumo wrestler. You wear the traditional sumo garb over your clothing. We were then treated to delicious meal and a question period with the retired sumo wrestlers. We were given a parting memento and then returned to the train station. We looked into many of the available sumo experiences and this seemed to be the only one that really allowed you to get into the action. The connection we felt to the sport by participating was fantastic and allowed us to see what high-performance athletes thees wrestlers were. This experience was a true highlight of our trip to Japan.

A great family experience to understand the history and culture of sumo wrestling. To have the opportunity to wrestle a sumo wrestler was second to none. It was an experience that we will never forget. Fugi was a great teacher and tour guide throughout the entire event.

This experience was great! The tour guides picked us up & drove us to the facility where we met 2 retired sumo wrestlers. The sumo wrestlers were great & they involved everyone to show sumo exercises & showed us how to wrestle. The lunch was delicious. My son ate 4 bowls of the soup! Highly recommend for a great Sumo experience.

Wonderful experience ! I cannot stress how great of a time my partner and I had. It was a great educational experience as you learn a lot about the sumo profession . It is also very interactive! The opportunity to take part in the training session was a highlight and it was so fun to actually challenge the sumo wrestlers themselves . Our guide Jim was wonderful and so were our two sumo wrestlers. They were great to chat with too and so hospitable . The lunch was amazing and I can't stop thinking about the hot pot. We will be back ! It is great for everyone whether families, couples, friends or individuals. If you have the time you have to make the trip!

Sumo wrestling is one of Japan's most secretive sport and there are very few tours that offer such a genuine sumo experience like this one. This is one of the best tours I had the fortune of attending during my last holiday in Tokyo! Our tour guide, Lily, was lovely, spoke great english and was very knowledgeable about sumo wrestling and was very passionate about this ancient sport. I learned a lot about the history of sumo, got to meet with experienced wrestlers and had a chance to duke it out in the ring. The sumo's were so friendly and nice and were more than willing to answer any questions about their passion. I highly recommend this to anyone who wishes to learn more about sumo and would like a genuine sumo experience.

Etant debutant sur le sujet, nous avons appris sur ce qu etait le Sumo dans la culture japonaise. Les démonstrations sont sympas pour illustrer les entraînements. La pratique est moins utile mais amusante surtout pour les enfants et adolescents. Le repas avec le sumo et la possibilité de lui poser des questions c est un plus.
