We had an amazing time at the cooking class with Gertrude in Kampala! She was such a friendly and welcoming host, making the whole experience feel personal and fun. We explored some really interesting local ingredients I had never used before, which made it even more special. The highlight for me was the mega tasty peanut sauce—absolutely delicious and something I’ll definitely try to recreate at home. Highly recommended if you’re looking for an authentic and flavorful Ugandan food experience!

Gertrude was a wonderful and sweet host! We got to know the native plants that are used in everyday life and how to peel, process and consume them in a very traditional way! (banana leaves!!) We enjoyed spending this time with Gertrude and her adorable little son in their home; chatting, dancing and sharing stories as well as cooking skills! Thank you for this delightful experience!

Fun morning with Gertrude and her son. I helped prepare the ingredients. Gertrude explained how to cook the vegetables. The G-Nut Sauce was the best!!! Some of the best local cuisine I have tasted. A big plus- the view from their place is amazing. Photo op while the food is cooking. If you have a couple of hours to spare, I highly recommend

What an authentic experience! Our hosts were gracious, knowledgeable and so friendly. They taught us about Kampala City and then how to cook traditional Ugandan food. At the end we enjoyed eating the delicious meal we had helped prepare!

    Really great experience

I would recommend this activity to anyone. Gertrude was so helpful and communicative, even assuring to arrange transportation to her home. We felt so welcome as if we were visiting a dear friend. And of course the food is delicious. We learned a lot about Ugandan food, history, and culture and we will definitely be making these dishes when we return home. It was a very special day and a great addition to our stay in Uganda.
