- We require a minimum of 4 passengers to confirm a flight on-board one of our larger passenger balloons. There are two alternatives available, we can provisionally book you onto the date then try to confirm another 2 passengers to fly with you or we can move your flight to the next suitable date.

- All passengers must be able to stand for the duration of the flight, and must be able to enter and exit the basket.
- To conform with the industry accepted practice, we consider it unsafe to fly when pregnant.
- The duration of transfers are approximate, the exact duration will depend on the time of day and traffic conditions
- Children must be accompanied by an adult
- Children under the age of 7 years are not permitted to fly.
- Subject to favorable weather conditions. If canceled due to poor weather, you will be given the option of an alternative date or full refund.
- Operates all year round, please dress appropriately. Flat shoes are recommended

This was an amazing experience! I considered this a must do activity if you are in Joburg or its surrounding area. The other commenters didn’t disappoint, the flight was amazing, the pilots were so nice and informative and the VIEWS!! So beautiful, from start to finish. The breakfast at the lodge was delicious. It’s rather cold in the morning so I would suggest that you dress appropriately. I would do this activity again!

Just do it! It is the best thing you can do in the air. From silent smooth flying to viewing the landscapes from the air. It is so incredible to fly over the animals and trees. No fear of height is applicable here. It does not affect you at all.

I could this over and over and over again. Cool and relaxing experience. The hotel where breakfast was hosted was equally breathtaking and relaxing. I most certainly will do this again except meeting the 3.30am pick up time was meh.

An amazing experience and extremely safe. The crew and Captain are very patient and provide a lot of information.
The sunrise is breathtaking and the Captain plans it just right as we rise above the hills to capture it.

Our hot air balloon pilot, Ianthé Honiball, a young South African, was waiting for us in the lobby. We got signed in and waited for the other passengers. Finally, around 5:00 am we piled into a van and headed to the field from where the balloon was to take off.
The support crew had already started prepping the balloon and within 15 minutes it was time for us to load up. The Cameron Balloon for 8 passengers apparently holds 250,000 cubic feet of air, which takes into account the temps, combined weights of the passengers and pilot, wind speed, and the lift needed. Once our pilot was certain everything was per calculation, she gave the green signal that it was time.
Ianthe is an excellent pilot and took the time to give us a running commentary on what she was doing. She even allowed us to pump hot air, as needed. We were aloft for about an hour over beautiful country, which is home to some zebra, impala, and other herbivores, along with farms and ranches. We ranged in altitude from around 4,000 feet to a bit over 5,000 feet. I made the observation that it was tranquil and peaceful to be aloft, which the pilot and others agreed. It was really cool to see Ianthe coordinate with her ground crew to find the spot to land. She had prepped us on how we had to crouch as we landed, which she nailed perfectly! After the landing, per hot air balloon tradition, we got to partake of champagne and got our certificates!

Allround amazing. We had a very experienced pilot, who also explained the dynamics of the wind that allows ballooning, in a humourous way, while we could gaze at the views and enjoy wonderous animal spotting. Thank you Marc!

What a truly bucket list experience for my birthday in the sky. Pilots were so warm and welcoming and explained everything about the flight before during and great history of ballooning , champagne toast after the flight.
Flight was stunning at sunset took so many photos and videos from start to finish.
Safe and extremely enjoyable, highly recommend it to anyone.

Dress warmly and in layers! It is cold in the morning! The balloon ride was beautiful and we saw a lot of wildlife. Breakfast was abundant and delicious. This activity is well worth it if you have the time and transport. I hired a driver through Viator who picked me up from my hotel and returned me there afterwards.

It was amazing! Don’t expect to see the Big 5 on this adventure but the view and sunrise is spectacular! You won’t be disappointed. The mimosa celebration with flight bravery acknowledgment and the white cloth breakfast were very nice touches. It was an adventure I will never forget. Thank you!

A very well-organized excursion to start off your day. The flight was smooth and safe, and all aspects of the experience were conducted by highly professional coordinators, pilots, and ground handlers. The calmness of the morning sunrise combined with the silence of lighter than air flight provides a very special perspective of South Africa near JNB.

The Hot Air Balloon experience is a must! It was exciting from beginning to the very end. You meet at the lodge for tea and coffee very comfortable and accommodating. Everyone starts to arrive you get signed in and get a ticket and instructions, you are driven to the launch site to watch the balloon inflation, all very organized and exciting. I did not know there would be other balloons. My husband and I had the opportunity to video and watch each one being inflated with air and fire! Once the balloon was standing tall we assembled into the basket with help from the staff. Such awesome views! The Pilots are also awesome, informative and have great senses of humor. Afterwards we received certificates, drank mimosa's with or without Champaigne and one of the pilots gave us the history of Hot Air Ballooning started in the 1700's while we drank. We had a five-star breakfast at the lodge with great food and awesome views. I recommend to everyone!!!!!!!!! A once in a lifetime experience!

All of the crew was very professional and extremely nice. Harold was an amazing pilot and took the time he needed to give us a safe and proper landing. We saw more wildlife than I expected to and the views and experience were amazing. I highly recommend them.

I wasn't sure if we were gonna see any game but we spotted zebras, giraffes, rhinos and many antelopes...
The staff is incredible and the breakfast was delicious!!

Booked a surprise for my husband. It was 3rd time lucky as previously booked in other countries and git cancelled. So was brilliant to go on this one.
Was such a lovely experience as seeing the set up at beginning to end. Welcomed at the lodge with hot drinks and open fire place.
Seeing the sun rise was brilliant and some animals. We saw white rhino, giraffe, kudu, zebra.
Lovely friendly staff. Had a nice traditional toast and cert. With an explanation of why it became a tradition.

My husband and I had the time of our life! The pilot Japie was sensational. The way he maneuvered the balloon over the dam and the mountains was awesome. He landed the balloon on the back of the truck to perfection. He loves his job and it shows. The crew was professional Mr M informed us on the history of hot air ballooning. We were treated to a champagne toast upon completion of the ride and we all received a certificate. Immediately following we were provided a buffet breakfast. Today was a good day!

It was a really great experience doing the balloon flight! The crew was so warm, joyful and they showed how masters they are on ballooning. The balloons are new, comfortable (as possible) and we can see them inflating. The view up there was awesome! We could see some animals like baboons, giraffe, and buffalos. And there's no words to describe the sunrising up there.
