Itinerary

Get an early start on the day with 4:50am pickup at your Jerusalem hotel, then travel to the Sde Dov Airport in Tel Aviv for a 1-hour flight to Eilat. Upon arrival a driver will take you to the Arava border with Jordan, and assist you with border-crossing procedures. A second driver will meet you on the Jordanian side of the border for the trip to Petra.

Arrive at the Visitors Center in Petra at roughly 11:30am, then begin a 4-hour tour of the Nabataean City, much of which is carved directly into solid rock. One highlight of the tour is Petra’s remarkable Treasury, which combines Greek influences with local building styles, and monumental sculptures carved into the deep red cliff. Continue past more cliff-carved facades, a Roman theater which once held up to 4,000 people, and a series of caves, temples, tombs, and mourning houses.

Following the tour, head to a local restaurant for lunch, then begin the return trip to the Arava border. A driver will meet you on the other side and transfer you to the Eilat Airport for a flight to Tel Aviv, where another driver will pick you up at the airport and bring you to Jerusalem. This 16-hour tour concludes with drop-off at your Jerusalem hotel.
