I enjoyed this tour. The Tour Guide was fun, funny and most importantly he had an indepth knowledge of Puerto Rican history in general and in specific about the Rain Forrest. His enthusiasm was contiguous. Accordingly, most of us asked a lot of questions and took a lot of pictures.
One of the guest had some issues on one of the trails. Luckily, a couple of nurses were on the trip. Still the patience and compassion shown by the Tour Guide Team was heartwarming. The Driver had to fill in for a short time for the Guide and he did so seamlessly. He too had a serious command of the history of Puerto Rico and that of the rainforest. I am glad I selected this tour and would ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND it to friends and family.

Very nice tour guide and he made the visit fun and interesting beyond belief. The tour covered most of the areas of the forest we were interested to see.

Excellent outdoor experience for all ages. Jorge was very knowledgeable of San Juan and Rainforest. Relaxing tour.

Jorge was wonderful!! Very knowledgeable and friendly! Great tour guide. Such a kind heart and you could see the passion he has for sharing his homeland. The tour was perfect for us as first time visitors. I would love to come back and see another part of the rain forest. Just beautiful.

Very interesting tour and great guide. Not enough time at the visitors’ center to both buy food and see the film. We would have brought lunch with us if we had known to do so.

The tour guide was great. He knew his stuff. Had lots of information and was attentive, knowledgeable and professional. He guided us through the welcome center nicely. I had a problem with the pickup and drop off. Neither of which was the guides fault. I thought we would be picked up at our hotel which was my mistake. However, the spot where we were picked up/dropped off seemed to me was off the beaten trail. A more populated area would have been better.

We really enjoyed our bus trip to El Yunque rainforest with tour guide, Jorge. Hotel pickup with prompt with good communication. Ride very pleasant with lots of added details. The rainforest was beautiful and this half day trip is designed for travelers looking for a low pressure way to see nature. Hike was short and easy and the climb to the top of the lookout tower was fun. Highly recommended!

Jorge is very friendly, helpful and most of all knowledgeable! He was accommodating for all who were in our group. Conversation with him was easy and he knows so much about the fauna given his background in botany and biology. We were able to see a good portion of El Yunque National Park without too much physical effort and someone else did the driving!

Our guide was knowledgeable and invested in the places we visited. He was attentive to the needs of the tour group and very open to sharing his knowledge both to the group and individually.

Adrian and Jorge were fantastic! Not only were we provided with some history regarding the colonization of Puerto Rico over the years, we were provided with an overview and history of the rainforest as well. Having someone else navigate the steep and narrow roads while getting to see the beauty El Yunque has to offer was well worth it.

Jorge was an excellent guide. He taught us about Puerto Rico on the drive to the rainforest, took us on a great hike and showed us many different plants and birds in the rainforest. He was very friendly, accommodating and knew a lot about the island. It was a perfect hike and day trip for our group which included my 74 year old mom.

When I signed up for this side trip they asked for arrival time. I made it clear that my ship did not arrive until 10 am but they ignored my input and expected us at 8:30 when we were still on the way there. I did not get to experience this excursions.

Jorge did a nice job. You could tell he enjoys his job and has a vast knowledge about Puerto Rico! I do wish we would have had the original tour we signed up for that included the food truck stop. I didn’t understand the notice we received about the tour. In fact the message did not show up until we arrived here in San Juan! The click through didn’t work until that point. It was nice to see the rain forest!

A great way to see some El Junque highlights, take a couple easy to moderate level short hikes, and includes an optional climb of 90 steps up a tall watchtower for an incredible view. Would have liked more time and longer hikes. Guide was friendly and knowledgeable.

Jorge was our guide and he was fantastic. Very knowledgeable! We enjoyed all the stops on the tour and would recommend.

Very easy excursion. Good for older folks and anyone with limited walking ability. Not for people looking for adventure but it is a great tour for the target customer.
Alida_G, Feb 2026
Very informative and well planned.
Guide was professional and impressive.
Easier way to see El Yunque.

Jorge was the tour guide, and he was exceptional! He was detailed and knowledgeable, spoke fluent English and Spanish, which allowed one of my friends to understand him. He was helpful and assisted in taking any group pictures. I will recommend this tour and would encourage you to ask for Jorge!

Jorge did an amazing tour!
He pointed out so many things that would have been missed without a tour guide!
It was a comfortable educational experience!

Beautiful place. Jorge was a very interesting and informative guide. I recommend this tour even though I took a fall on the gravel trail.
Wear good shoes.

Tour company was great , however Viatar gave wrong information for pick up !! It was not at hotel. We had to take a taxi !!

This chore was perfect for someone, my age 73 and my adult daughter, our driver and guide was very knowledgeable and was fantastic with the group of 22 then included the two of us another much younger couple and a multigenerational family of about 18 people.

If you want to visit El Yunque but fear that your stamina isn't up for it, fear no more. This tour is perfect. Jorge is super nice and very knowledgeable. You will be driven around some 'must see' places in a bus with AC and complimentary cold water. Being a part of a small group of people makes this tour manageable and very organised. Jorge also offers a pick up and drop off at some hotels in the San Juan area. This tour is well worth your time and money.

Great tour of the rain forest. Jorge was very knowledgeable and outgoing. Definitely recommend. Great.
Ines_M, Jan 2026
We did the “easy” El Yunque tour on our last full day before heading home, and it was exactly what we wanted: low-stress, not overly physical, but still genuinely informative and worth the time.
There were three of us (all adults), and the pace was comfortable from start to finish. Nothing felt rushed, and nothing felt like a workout. It was more of a relaxed rainforest experience with stops in the right places, short walks, and plenty of time to look around, take photos, and actually enjoy being there instead of just trying to keep up.
The best part was the guide Jorge . They made the rainforest feel way more interesting by explaining the plants, wildlife, and what makes El Yunque unique. We learned a lot without it ever turning into a lecture. They were also great about answering questions and keeping things moving smoothly.
This tour was perfect for a “last day” plan because it didn’t wipe us out, but still felt like we did something memorable in Puerto Rico. If you’re traveling with adults who want an easier option (or you just want a calmer day), this is a solid choice. We left feeling like we’d really experienced El Yunque, without needing to recover afterward.

A great experience, our guide Jorge was personable and his enthusiasm in sharing his knowledge about the rain forest and not only its history but also Puerto Rican history was impressive. He was super friendly and accommodating. This tour is suitable for all. I would sign up for other Patria tours.
