The castle was great. Our tour guide Drew was very knowledgeable and personable. He made the drive interesting. He oicked a good place for lunch and directed us to excellent sites.

The castle was wonderful, the falcon presentation was so interesting, & Drew was a great tour guide. I didn’t have time to finish the castle viewing or get a pic with the falcon.

Bill had a weather of knowledge about the history of the castle and its place in Scottish history. Was also knowledgeable in leading the tour group in the art of whiskey tasting.

Not a good weather day. Bus not very comfortable unless you are in front seat. Bill a bit grouchy and bossy, but quite knowledgeable. It was just ok. The day before I did a rabbies tour and it was exceptional so this was a bit of a let down.

It's a shame Lawry that you felt this tour was just okay. We can't control the weather, but the guide Bill remembers you as seeming to have a great time and interacting with him quite jovially, so can't understand your review of his demeanour. It's a shame you compare us to Rabbie's. They are not a selective small group tour like our, but mass market and with hindsight maybe you prefer that type of tour. "Happy" onwards travelling.

We felt rushed at Cairn Laith Broch and at Dunrobin Castle. Enjoyed both of these but would have liked more time. The Glenmorangie Distillery was very disappointing. We were expecting a tour and a small tasting of a few different whiskeys instead of having to buy full shots. We were aware that we had to pay for the tastings, but we were expecting a sampler tray.

It's great Robert you felt you had such a good time at the Broch and the Castle that it left you wanting more time there. The itinerary is designed to ensure you get an adequate time at both and is generally great for most guests. The distillery is clearly shown in the itinerary as a tasting, not a tour. Sampler trays are not mentioned for this tour at all and it is entirely the Distillery's own choice on how they serve the tastings (and which ones you personally want to try). The four of us thoroughly enjoyed our day with Robbie, our guide, and the other four guests on the tour with us. The van we rode in was comfortable and it was easy to hear Robbie telling us various facts and stories about the places we were seeing. We had plenty of time at the various official tour stops and made a few quick stops for scenic pictures as well. Robbie was an absolute delight. He kept us laughing and engaged throughout the day. I would highly recommend this tour.

Robbie was a wonderful guide. We took a short detour to see the Millionaires View and get the entertaining story on Carbisdale Castle. He loaded me with tips when I mentioned my wife enjoys fly-fishing and I was thinking of driving the NC500 on my next Scotland trip. A Robert Burns expert, Robbie had a Burns poem for most every occasion, and driving past the scenery hearing him recite "My Heart's in the Highlands" is a memory I'll hold dear for a long while. The whole company is staffed with good folks, but you're really in for something special if you get Robbie.

We had a fantastic guide in Stuart. He was very informative and his commentary added context to the sites. He is a very capable driver and you will feel safe on the tiny windy roads. It was nice to hear the perspective of someone who grew up visiting the area and has been living there for 20+ years. Friendly and funny, couldn’t ask for a better guide. He went out of his way to let us see the famous Highland Coos which were not on the itinerary. Lots of personal touches. Also there was a change in our itinerary (different distillery) and Happy Tours communication was excellent about that. If we had to pick a favorite it would be the castle especially the gardens and falconry show. But it was all wonderful.

This was one of my favorite tours on my trip. Craig was a great, funny and informative guide. He gave us information regarding the Castle , falconry and the distillery we were to see. He also showed us fantastic Scottish scenery which was memorable. I highly recommend this tour with Craig.

This tour was a birthday present for my boyfriend, and coincidentally our second day with our tour guide Craig - he was fantastic from start to finish. His knowledge of the area was second to none along with his good humour we had a brilliant experience. I would completely recommend happy tours to anyone visiting Inverness in the future

Absolutely loved the tour. Craig was informative and fun. He did a fantastic job talking us through a whiskey tasting and had the whole van laughing with jokes. The tour is not too long and you come back to Inverness relaxed and in high spirits. Highly recommend.

I loved the castle and the falconry exhibition! We were lucky to have beautiful weather so the views were amazing everywhere we went. Robbie was an excellent tour guide, he’s extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic and he made the trip so lovely! The tour itself seemed a bit disorganized. A few of the listed stops were not available or open for visitors. In addition we had to pay for tickets upon arrival at each stop, which was indeed disclosed on the info page. However, the lack of efficiency really took some of the joy out of the day. Paying for a tour + about £20 on scheduled activities (castle entrance, whiskey tasting) on the day was a bit disappointing. As part of the tour experience, I think it would have been more enjoyable had the details been arranged before we got there. I’d have loved to hand over that $ upon booking the tour rather than the hassle of purchasing tickets upon arrival. Luckily there weren't crowds, so we didn’t have to wait in line. The distillery we stopped at didn’t have room for our group to tour, so we paid for a quick tasting in a separate building away from the brewing action, which was again, a bit disappointing. All in all it was a lovely day, just not what I expected from the description.

Thank you for the review of your tour with Robbie. We are sorry you felt the tour disorganised. Some customers prefer to visit all of Dunrobin Castle, other only want the gardens. It's easier to let customers decide on the day. It's also why we show it's not included in our listing (as you did see)
Again at the Distillery very few actually want the full tour, most just want the tasting and some want neither.
Due to staff shortages and sometimes Covid certain places/stops shut temporarily and our guides always try to make sure there are alternatives to keep you entertained.
We glad you still enjoyed your day with us.

Fascinating glimpse of northern Scotland, between Inverness and Dunrobin. Our driver, Tony, was full of little tit-bits of information, sometimes a little more fiction, than fact. Great day out in a comfortable small coach.

One word sums up this tour - farce! I had the unfortunate luck of being with a couple - so there were just 3 of us. The husband was tracing his family roots in Scotland so overwhelmed the driver /guide John with his personal questions. I meanwhile had to listen - what else could I do?! John should have said that he would be happy to discuss things with the gentleman at the various stops so that he could tell me/ us the info that he normally would. Almost from the beginning John was dropping hints about the Pictish Trail and how we could do something different if we wanted - like going to look for dolphins. He was pretty bearish about that part of the tour but I wanted to see it as my family lives in Seattle WA where there are loads of dolphins and whales. I don't need to travel thousands of miles to Scotland to look for the same. The highlight of the tour was the falconry display/show at Dunrobin had that not been there I would have rated this tour '0'. Watching the birds of prey fly was very interesting. Dunrobin itself was nothing special if you've seen a castle before yes it's large but well... not worth the price of the tour to get there. Lunch in Dornoch sp was awful - really awful - but the choices were limited. All in all, John was nice enough but I did not find this tour worth the price.
