This experience was flawless from start to finish. The crew and mo our guide were amazing. Mo especially was impeccable with my autistic 4 year old. He was a friend by the end of the trip both kids who cant swim even tried snorking ! If your thinking about booking this trip 100% go for it. Great company, great food great music.

I booked the Orange Bay Island VIP Snorkeling Sea Trip with Lunch in Hurghada via Viator, operated by Nour Travel, and it was easily one of the worst travel experiences we’ve ever had.
Date: April 10, 2026
Group: 2 adults, 3 children
Boat: MarMar (run by Memo Aqua Center)
From start to finish, this trip was poorly managed, misleading, and in some cases genuinely unsafe.
Environmental Negligence (Shocking)
The captain of the boat was seen throwing plastic bags and rubbish directly into the Red Sea multiple times, along with cigarette butts. This happened at least three times from the top deck while he was steering.
For a trip marketed around coral reefs and marine life, this is completely unacceptable.
Food Safety & Hygiene (Serious Issue)
The food situation was beyond concerning:
- Breakfast was just unrefrigerated salad, with no other options
The same salad appeared to be reused later at lunch, where the food was cold, stale, and clearly not fresh.
- Portions were extremely small, with not enough food or even forks for everyone
- Utensils were dirty and had to be cleaned with wipes before use
Staff were smoking directly near the food preparation area
As a result, we suffered acute gastroenteritis (likely norovirus) shortly after the trip.
The only “positive” was that the portions were so small that not all five of us got to eat, which means hat only 3 of us got severely sick. That says everything.
False Advertising & Extra Charges
The tour listing claimed food and snacks were included, but:
- Snacks like chips were charged at $2 per packet
- We were charged double for national park entry fees
- Staff attempted to charge an additional $40 for transfers, despite transfers being included in the booking. This felt extremely misleading and opportunistic.
Snorkelling Experience (Rushed & Poorly Guided)
The snorkelling itself was a huge disappointment:
- Extremely rushed, with no time to enjoy the reef
- The guide constantly shouted the groups name “habibi, habibi” while rushing everyone along
- No effort to point out marine life or explain anything
- Felt more like a children’s swimming drill than a guided snorkelling experience
Completely ruined what should have been the highlight of the trip.
Dolphin Experience – Misleading
The tour advertised a “90% chance of seeing dolphins”, which was a key reason we booked. However, the boat didn’t even go near the well-known dolphin area (“Dolphin House”), making this claim feel completely dishonest.
Beach Stop & Hygiene Concerns
- The beach stop at Orange Bay was only 1.5 hours, which is not enough time to relax.
- Worse, after returning to the boat, staff tried to make 30 people wash their feet in the same two buckets of dirty water. This is extremely unhygienic, and we refused.
Boat Condition & Overall Environment
The boat (MarMar) was:
- Old, dated, and poorly maintained
- Dirty inside and uncomfortable
- Infested with wasps throughout the trip
Staff behaviour didn’t help either:
- Loud crap music constantly playing, whilst they all jumped around and clapped like monkeys
- Unprofessional and chaotic atmosphere
- The photographer was rude and overpriced
- Like the morning chaos, the end was the same. We were waiting for 20 minutes under the sun and herded like cattle into jam-packed vans without air-conditioning, to go to our hotels.
Final Verdict
This Hurghada snorkeling trip to Orange Bay Island was a complete failure across every aspect: safety, hygiene, honesty, and overall experience.
- Between the food poisoning, hidden charges, environmental damage, and poor organisation, this is not something I would ever recommend, especially for families.
- There are far better and more professional operators in Hurghada.
- Avoid this tour and this operator entirely.

Pick up instructions were clear and great communication. The boat was good and had plenty of space for everyone. The crew were very friendly and gave a safety briefing before getting in the water and had life rings for people who were less confident in the water to hold onto and be towed along the reef. Orange bay was fine but a complete overpriced tourist trap! The crew really did make this a wonderful experience.

The tour was run by Noun travel
We booked this tour but then was told we couldn’t do this one.
I am travelling with my friend for his 50th.
As soon as we shared our passport photos this is what we were told.
We’re sorry to inform you that reservations for island trips are only accepted for couples and families.
So in short we were changed to another lesser trip because of discrimination.
We went an alternative which was fine but we didn’t get to experience Orange Bay

A great day enjoying a boat trip on the red sea. A couple of stops or the chance to snorkel and see the coral reefs and many colourful fish and even see dolphins.
On to Orange Bay which is utterly beautiful and relaxing.
The crew were amazing and fun. They were so helpful and made it such a brilliant full day.

Orange bay is definitely worth the trip. Good snorkeling also. The banana ride/sofa were a joke as they only brought 1 banana with 4 straps broken. The “ride” was just a 20m run for a photo op and back to the boat. What is worse is that the guide asked for my phone to leave a good review. Would have been a more positive comment without his intervention.

The snorkeling experience was amazing! Specially the second stop, felt like I was watch a documentary on sea life of something, it was simply beautiful! I didn’t care much for the Orange Bay, it was too expensive and very commercial. But the snorkeling was great!

Very good and organized trip. NO problem being picked up all though i forgot to check where the boat was going From wich were the hilton hotel so it took a while to get there and back as we went through whole hurghada but that was all on me 😄 all tour guides were Very helpful and a clear program for the day was informed in the beginning of the tour. The snorkeling is amazing and orangebay is beautuful. The tourguides did an amazing job keeping the big group together. It is a long Day and a lot of time on the boat but just as long as you dont stress and really making it a full Day tour i dont think you Will be disapointed.

Very nice experience. Staff were super friendly and helpful. I got seasick and was taken care of immediately. Lunch was tasty and plenty of choice. Boat was super clean!
Advice Bring warm socks and a blanket, because your shoes/slippers must be removed. In winter there is quite a lot of wind, so it can be on the cold side.
Orange bay, on the other hand, was perfect, you are full of sun.

Sehr schlechte Schnorchelstops an toten und durch Massentourismus zerstörten Riffen. Essen war auch nicht besonders und Orange Bay hat zwar seine Reize, aber hier tummeln sich 1000 Leute auf einmal und dadurch ist es wirklich nicht zu empfehlen.
