Horrific trip to cairo..do not book this tour

Carol_R, Mar 2026
Worst guide ever, gave no information just made highly sexist jokes. Badly orginized, had to wait outside museum for 30min resulting in only 30 min in museum. Bought ticket to go inside pyramids while guide should know they close at 4pm so wasted my money. No control of people on bus resulting in major arguments and 6 people left bus in desert. So bad they did not even ask for tip.

Comfortable CAIRO from Makadi (Hurgada)

Vrajendra_G, Mar 2026
Its worth the pain as travelled from Hurgada (Makadi Bay). The Toilet in the Bus was a great help as it saves money while travelling with kids (People should know- that you have to pay to use public wash rooms).

Response from Host, Mar 2026

Thank you for sharing your experience! We’re glad to hear that the bus facilities, including the toilet, made your journey from Hurghada (Makadi Bay) more comfortable, especially while traveling with kids. Your tip about public washrooms is very helpful for other travelers. We appreciate your feedback and hope your trip was memorable!

Disappointing

Drew_C, Feb 2026
We were picked up on time at 2:30am, being the last pickup in hurghada. Coach was nice enough but nothing fancy. Unfortunately our trip got off to a bad start as our coach broke down just over an hour outside of Cairo. We were left for 2 hours with zero communication as to what was happening and no air con. When a replacement coach turned up 2 hours later, it was noticeably worse than the previous coach. The air con did not work to the same level, it was quite warm, and the toilet was also incredibly filthy. (Side note: toilets on the coach and across cairo do not offer toilet roll, so bring tissues!) Appreciate that the coach breaking down wasn't necessarily your fault but the vehicle should have been better maintained if you are operating a tour, and should have at least kept us informed as to what was happening, and how it would impact the rest of the planned activities. When we eventually got to Cairo, our first stop was the GEM museum which was brilliant, however it would have been nice to have more independent time there, we only had 30 minutes to ourselves without the group before having to leave, didn't even have time for the gift shop. Lunch was at an extremely busy BBQ restaurant a short drive away, where we only had 20 minutes to eat. It was a very crowded, loud environment and very over stimulating. We were stood around waiting a while to even get in, again unsure exactly what was happening, eventually we were handed actually dirty plates with some liquid on by our guide (which I refused and found myself a clean plate) - a waiter even snatched a spoon out of my hand as I was serving myself as he wanted to refill the bowl! The food itself was okay but was put off the whole experience by that point so didn't really enjoy it. After lunch we went to the pyramids, which were of course absolutely amazing, but we were only given 40 minutes to wonder around the main pyramids before having to meet back at the coach. We then took a short drive to see the Sphinx, where we spent another 30 minutes. - It might have been nice to walk from the pyramids down to the sphinx as it wasnt that far, or again just be told a time and place to meet, and allowed to spend more time at the pyramids, but it was fine. The whole thing felt very rushed and poorly optimised. We felt we definitely didn't get the most out of our brief time there. Especially considering this was the main reason we wanted to visit Cairo it was disappointing that it was the shortest amount of time we got to spend out of all the locations, and some of it was wasted with the guide trying to sell us cheap souvenirs, giving us an earlier time to return to the coach than the other group, and seemingly additional unnecessary coach time. Due to breaking down earlier in the day, we did not have time to visit the papyrus museum as advertised. Which was a shame but understandable given the circumstances. We then set off from the Sphinx to the Nile river cruise at 5pm (after being told we weren’t going to do it due to timing, and had accepted and was happy with because it meant we would get back to the resort in time for late dinner), which took over an hour to drive to, north through the city in rush hour (further from Hurghada). We eventually made it to the boat after sunset. Everyone was understandably tired and low energy by this point, some even waited back on the coach instead of taking the boat ride. As we set off on the boat the captain essentially turned it into a party boat, completely missing the vibe, with very loud music, which he turned down after we asked, and bright flashing lights. After the 30 minute boat ride, which started and ended in the same location, not heading south like we hoped, we set off on the coach back to Hurghada at around 7:40pm. We arrived back at our resort at 1:40am, missing dinner. We were luckily the last to be picked up and the first to be dropped off in hurghada, which prevented an additional 1.5 hours each way on the coach. Additionally, almost all correspondence on the coach was done in Russian, which left other languages, including English, unsure of instructions, what was being said and the historical information being shared. The Russian tour guide seemed to be good though! The English tour guide was friendly but just not very communicative at all (other than in the GEM), it's like he assumed we spoke Russian too, at points he would just point out good photo opportunities while the Russian tour guide was actually telling them about the surroundings. Overall, glad we did this trip for the experience, but it was very tiring, drawn out, and inefficient. Only the GEM museum and the Pyramids were worth it. Although cost effective and a convenient package tour, we wish we just got flights and went with a different tour guide, as we didn't get to spend much time with what we wanted and didn't get to see everything in the tour anyway. Following this I requested a partial refund by the tour group and explained my reasoning, as mentioned above. They denied it, offering no discount whatsoever. I feel this is unfair and unethical given the experience we had. Hope that this review is helpful and the criticism is taken on board, and some improvements are made. Thanks for reading.

Response from Host, Feb 2026

Thank you for taking the time to share such a detailed review of your Cairo tour experience. First of all, we truly appreciate your honest feedback. We completely understand how disappointing and exhausting the day must have felt, especially when Cairo and the Pyramids were the main highlight of your trip. We would like to address your concerns openly and respectfully: Regarding the coach breakdown, we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and the lack of communication during that period. While unexpected mechanical issues can unfortunately happen even with regular maintenance, we fully agree that clearer communication should have been provided while waiting for the replacement vehicle. This is something that should never be overlooked, and your comment is noted seriously. Concerning the replacement coach conditions (air conditioning and toilet cleanliness), this certainly does not reflect the standard we aim to provide. Your feedback about hygiene and comfort is extremely important and will be escalated to the transportation provider for strict review. As for timing at the Grand Egyptian Museum and the Giza Pyramids, Cairo day trips from Hurghada are naturally very tight due to the long travel distance and fixed return schedules. However, we completely understand that you wished for more independent time, especially at the Pyramids, as they are the main highlight for most guests. The breakdown earlier in the day unfortunately impacted the schedule and forced adjustments, including skipping the papyrus stop. Regarding lunch and restaurant conditions, we are very sorry to hear about the cleanliness issue and the uncomfortable environment. This is not acceptable, and your comments about hygiene and organization will be forwarded for review. About the Nile boat ride experience, we understand that after such a long and tiring day, a loud party atmosphere may not have matched expectations. This is valuable feedback, especially regarding music volume and lighting. Concerning language communication, we sincerely apologize if English explanations were insufficient. All guests deserve equal attention and clear communication in their language. Your note about the imbalance between Russian and English guidance is important and will be addressed. With respect to the refund request, while we understand your frustration, partial refunds are generally reserved for major service failures or cancellations. As the full program (with minor adjustments due to the breakdown) was ultimately completed, the team may have assessed it under standard policy. That said, your feedback remains valid and important. We genuinely appreciate that despite the challenges, you still found value in visiting the GEM and the Pyramids. Constructive criticism like yours helps improve operational standards and guest communication for future travelers. Thank you again for sharing your experience in such detail.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us! We’re really happy to hear that, even though it was a long day, the trip was worth it for you. It’s great to know you enjoyed the tour guide, the comfortable coach with air conditioning, and the overall experience. We also appreciate you mentioning the optional activities like the Nile boat trip and camel ride — it helps future travelers understand their choices while still knowing they can explore the pyramids on foot as well. Your kind words about the value of the tour truly mean a lot to us. We hope to welcome you again on another adventure in Egypt soon!

Great way to see the Pyramids and Sphinx in a day, but tiring!

Norman_M, Dec 2025
The Pyramids and Sphinx are wonderful to behold, the old Egyptian museum is interesting but dated and shopping experiences (perfumes/spices) are tiresome when it’s such a long journey (6+ hours each way). Remember extra cash for loo visits, tips, boat trip and horse & cart/camel trips. The lunch was very good! Overall very tiring but worth it!

Response from Host, Dec 2025

Thank you so much for sharing your detailed feedback! We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed the Pyramids, the Sphinx, and your lunch experience. These truly are unforgettable highlights. We appreciate your honesty regarding the long travel time and the shopping stops. Your comments are extremely valuable, and we’ll use them to improve the experience for future guests. Thank you as well for noting the additional costs along the way — this is helpful advice for other travelers. Although it was a tiring day, we’re glad you still felt it was worth the journey. We hope to welcome you back for more relaxed and enjoyable adventures in the future! 🌟

Go above and beyond

Amanda_C, Dec 2025
Booked a few times with viatora and always go above and beyond to ensure you have a great trip. Value for money is fantastic. I got the times wrong for this trip and we missed the bus (totally my fault !) the company arranged a taxi to catch up with bus! The only thing I’ll say about this trip is it was about 24hrs long so take a pillow and blanket ( I was cold on bus because of aircon… but that was just me …. Can’t suit everyone!) plenty of snacks too

Response from Host, Dec 2025

Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback! 🌟 We’re truly happy to hear that you’ve booked with us several times through Viator and that our team could once again go above and beyond to make your trip enjoyable. We’re glad we could assist with arranging a taxi so you could catch up with the bus — no stress at all, these things happen! 😊 Your note about the trip length and the air-conditioning is very helpful. A 24-hour adventure can be long, so your tips about bringing a pillow, blanket, and snacks will definitely help future travelers. Thank you again for your trust and kind words. We look forward to welcoming you on more amazing experiences soon! 🙏✨

Underwhelming

David_S, Nov 2025
Unfortunately underwhelming, we knew it would be a long day but it was unnecessarily long with the amount of stops and waiting throughout the day the trip could be much shorter. The guide was lovely, friendly, very knowledgeable he was the best thing about the trip. The older museum had few artefacts in as lot were being packed up to move to the new one so that museum shouldn't be an option The traditional paper making was completely missed out. The lunch wasn't great and small portions. Sadly not much time at the pyramids or sphinx. The perfume stop like other reviews was a tourist trap albeit for us a nice interlude but again took too long and unnecessary when longer time could be spent at the pyramids. Nice boat trip didn't have much alternative other that staying sat on the bus. The bus itself is not the reality as what the description says. Sadly wouldn't recommend

Response from Host, Nov 2025

Dear Valued Guest, Thank you for taking the time to share your review regarding your day trip to Cairo by bus from Hurghada. We have carefully checked your booking details and found that you personally selected the visit to the Old Egyptian Museum. This choice was made entirely at your own discretion, and we simply organize the program according to the customer’s preferred selection. Some guests choose the old museum, while others prefer the new one. Both options are available, and guests decide in advance when booking the trip. Therefore, we kindly ask why our team is being held responsible for a choice you made yourself mistake. Please note that this is a group tour, not a private one, and we are required to follow the program from start to finish accordingly. The time allocated for visiting the Pyramids and the Sphinx is never less than two hours—usually even longer. Regarding the visit to the Papyrus Institute and the Perfume Gallery, this is an integral part of the trip. It does not exceed half an hour and is intended to show guests how papyrus paper was made in ancient Egypt, as well as how natural oils and perfumes were traditionally produced. This does not mean you are required to purchase anything. No one can oblige you to buy. Many guests enjoy seeing these traditional crafts, even if they choose not to purchase. Your claim that this is a “tourist trap” is incorrect and does not reflect the purpose of this educational visit. As for the Nile boat trip, you were informed clearly in advance that it is an optional activity with an additional charge. Guests may freely accept or decline it, and payment—if chosen—is made directly to the tour guide. This is entirely optional and never mandatory. You had full prior knowledge of this part of the program. Regarding the large Mercedes-Benz bus, 2024 model, German-made and equipped with a small restroom in the middle: Is there any brand better than Mercedes for transportation quality? All our buses undergo strict annual inspections by the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism. Therefore, your claim that the bus was unsuitable or not as described is unacceptable. We appreciate that you acknowledged our tour guide’s efforts and that he delivered explanations and information in the best possible manner. We truly thank you for taking the time to write your review, and we hope to welcome you again on another trip that fully meets your expectations and satisfaction.

10/10 tour with 10/10 service

beth_c, Aug 2025
This day trip was absolutely outstanding. communication between myself and the tour operator was second to none. Rabea was so helpful and always on hand. Don’t let the length of the trip put you off because honestly it is so worth it, we had a fantastic time and learnt so much and not to mention got to see the most fascinating wonder of the world! - also plenty rest/food/toilet stops along the way… a huge thank you to our fantastic guide Ayman. He was so knowledgeable and not to mention kind. Our driver Ahmed was superb, making sure we had a smooth ride from leaving to getting back. One thing that stood out for me was the fact that due to it being so late when we got back, my boyfriend rushed off the coach and i ended up leaving some of my belongings on the coach. i messaged Rabea straight away and the issue was no problem. They ensured i got my stuff dropped back off at the hotel early the following morning and were extremely helpful. i’m so grateful. what a fantastic tour operator with even better employees. thanks so much for the amazing day!

Cairo Trip - Museum, Pyramids, Sphinx

Christopher_L, Aug 2025
We travelled from Hurghada by coach and it was a long journey and a long day, but worth it. Flying would be a better option I'm hindesight and if your able, but luckily the coach was spacious enough for everyone to have an individual seat and catch a little shut eye along the way. Hanan, our tour guide joined us and was fantastic from start to finish very warm and knowledgeable about the sites we were visiting and also added extra info on landmarks and the history. This was our first day trip as a group out of 6 planned, and we hope to see Hanan before we leave. Multilingual and ensured everyone kept with the group and gave information on areas and artifacts we visited, with a smile that would brighten up any dull day. Amazing tour guide and an amazing experience for the first Egyot excusion. Thanks Hanan, for an amazing day. Chris

Response from Host, Aug 2025

Dear Chris, Thank you so much for your thoughtful and detailed feedback! We're truly delighted to hear that, despite the long journey from Hurghada, you found the experience worthwhile and memorable. We're especially happy to know that Hanan made such a positive impression on your group. She’s a valued member of our team, and it’s wonderful to hear how her knowledge, warmth, and multilingual support enhanced your first excursion in Egypt. We’ll be sure to pass along your kind words — they will surely make her day! We hope the rest of your planned trips are just as enjoyable, and we’d love to welcome you again soon — hopefully with Hanan joining you on another adventure. A day in Cairo and Giza

Szabolcs_B, Jun 2025
Travel is very long and can be exhausting for children and woman. Expect this, the tour was really good. The guide was really friendly and funny, with a good knowledge and exceptional english speaker. He gave us really good hints on which aspects to be careful and how to react in different situations. The tour on the Nile was really nice and relaxing. The organisers also really good! Everything communicated in time on whatsapp, with necessary details, what to take on the trip. The bus drivers also really professional and good skilled. I would recommend definitely this Cairo tour!

Worth the Long day!

Lindsay_C, Apr 2025
After reading reviews we were a little bit worried about what we might encounter on this trip, however, I think the reviews lowered expectations and turned our time into a wonderful experience. We were told 1.10am pick up, the coach arrived at 1am, fully air conned and with a toilet. Toilet wasn’t terrible, occasional smell when someone used it but fine! After picking up at other hotels you get under way, be prepared for stops as the buses all go through checkpoints in a convoy so there is some waiting. My 6 year old and I slept through most of the way and by 9am we were at the museum. Here we met our guide for the day, there was a problem with the tickets entering so there was a big queue in the sun but our guide was funny and kept us going! He gave us a talk on the history and explained to us the important things he would take us to see. (Otherwise you’d be there all day!!) Tutankhamun was worth the trip! We spent a long time there in the end with toilet queues etc but our next stop was the Nile river cruise. We were adamant we weren’t going to do it but we got swept along and we were glad we did! We had an ice cream on board, a sing and a dance and lots of photos too! At 2pm we were having lunch, the meat and rice were lovely. An open buffet only drinks to pay for if you want them. Not the cleanest place but the lamb koftas were amazing. Then to the pyramids! They tell you horse and cart or camel ride. We didn’t really want to do either but again ended up swept along which was fine. This is to see the Panoramic view of the pyramids. Then back to the coach to drive on to see the sphinxs. Running out of time now at 5.30pm we were at the perfume shop, no time for papyrus. The perfume shop gave a welcome drink, lots of oils to try and no pushy selling! Some of the smells were lovely and we did end up buying a small bottle! Back on the coach again for the ride home by 6.30, no checkpoints on way back so saved a little time. The guide made sure there was lots of photos taken of everyone, warned of potential scams and was very funny throughout a long but fabulous day. He had to hurry people along throughout but only really the stragglers, and helped anyone who needed it. His name was Mohammed and he really did make the tour for us. Overall, if you want to see the pyramids fairly cheaply and don’t mind a bit of waiting around and a few extras then it’s definitely worth the long day. We really did love our day and my 6 year old had a fab day too as they made a fuss of her throughout! As long as you’re prepared for what it is then it’s great!

Response from Host, Apr 2025

Not happy at all.

Alistair_B, Apr 2025
From Hurghada to Cairo could have taken around 5 hours, but instead took 10. The first hour of the journey was spent crammed into a minibus that was driven at very dangerous and uncomfortable speeds around Hurghada picking people up. 9 hours later we arrived at Cairo and were told to get off the bus, no further instructions were given in English so my son and I were left not knowing where we were or what was happening. All we could do was follow everyone else to join a queue where we stood in the baking sun for 30 minutes, again, not knowing why. We eventually realised it was the Egyptian Museum we were at. We weren't given the audio equipment to hear the tour guide until another visitor told the guide as, again, no English was being spoken. My son and I were very tired, hot and confused. We were then made to stay in the one spot of the museum listening to the history of Egypt instead of seeing the artifacts. By this point we were extremely unhappy, so much so that we decided to leave the tour and got a taxi to take us to the pyramids then back to Hurghada. This was around midday (we were picked up from our hotel at 00:30). We were back at our hotel for 18:00, so in just 6 hours we managed to go from Cairo to Giza, walk round the pyramids and get back to Hurghada. Had we been informed of the schedule for the tour beforehand, I wouldn't have booked it as it's far too long to spend on a bus for the distance travelled.

Response from Host, Jul 2025

Thank you for sharing your experience with us, and we’re truly sorry to hear that your day did not meet expectations. We deeply regret the discomfort you and your son experienced — from the long and confusing transportation process, to the lack of clear communication during the tour. This is certainly not the level of service we aim to provide, and we understand how frustrating and exhausting your journey must have felt. Clear guidance, especially in your chosen language, is absolutely essential, and we sincerely apologize for falling short in this regard. Your comments have been taken very seriously and will be shared directly with our operations team. We are reviewing our pickup process, transportation planning, and communication with international guests to ensure these issues are properly addressed and prevented in the future. Despite your disappointment, we truly appreciate your honest and constructive feedback. It helps us improve and refine the experience for future guests. We hope one day we’ll have the opportunity to welcome you again and offer a far better and more organized experience.

Great trip.

Carl_A, Apr 2025
Packed day, great guide (Mohamed), long journey but the coach had a toilet, great lunch, and of course the sights, which are like nowhere else. It’s long of course, and we had a little waiting around which prolonged our day (they did not cut our attraction time down, instead we just got back late, which is the right way to handle it IMO).

We got picked up at the hotel on time. The bus was a big bus. The driver was nice and also the tour guide. He spoke perfectly German English, and I guess some other languages. He explained everything and made it a great tour. The drive to Cairo from Hurghada was really quick but we are younger and did sleep all the time. (We would recommend flying, if you have problems with your knees or back.) But it was great because we saw multiple things. Like a perfume factory, the Egyptian museum and the papyrus factory. We also had different side tours to choose from like a tour on the Nile or a tour with camels around the pyramids. It was a great experience. The people were very nice. The food was also delicious. The only thing missing was the water. We definitely recommend bringing your own water. But all in all, we were very happy with the tour.

Awful! Awful! Awful! 21hrs of Hell! Avoid this trip!

Peadar_B, Mar 2025
OMG! If your sole goal is to see the Pyramids of Giza then AVOID this trip! 21 hours of absolute HELL! Almost ruined the whole trip to Hurghada. Was just glad that we booked to do it at the start of the holiday so that we could forget about it and let the better experiences overshadow it. In summary: - Meant to be picked up in (as we were advised in a message the night before) in a "big Mercedes bus with air-conditioning, toilets, USB for charging phones" and instead a toilettes 12 seater van showed up and when I queried it with the driver was rudely dismissed. - Pick up time was changed from 1.30am to 1am and after complying with this and getting up ridiculously (and needlessly) early the bus showed up late at 1.30am anyway. - Trip to Cairo took from 1.30am-8.45am and not the 6hrs as advertised on the itinerary with some long and unexplained roadside stops. - Arrived at the museum in Cairo (after surviving the harrowing traffic) with well over 1000+ people queuing in the sun to get it. - We were then literally run round the museum to see a few choice artefacts that had been picked out by the tour guide while being shouted at the entire time to hurry (YELLA!) and give only 5mins in total to appreciate the timeless wonder of King Tut's funerary treasure. - Unscheduled stop at (am assuming a friend of the tour guides) Perfume Shop for a "Welcome Drink" which then lead into a sales demonstration and it turned out the reason for this unnecessary (and unwanted) stop was because the restaurant wasn't ready for us. - Got to restaurant and were shouted at to hurry our meal by the tour guide because we were now behind on the itinerary. - Didn't bother with Nile River cruise as Cairo is nothing short of a SLUM (was so so shocked to see the poverty and filth of what is meant to be a capital city). - Endured ALL of the above to get approx 1-1.5 hours at the pyramids and then topped off with another sales pitch at the papyrus shop and then the 6hrs bus trip home. - Oh and then the tour guide went round with a QR code to do an online review and then literally insisted that people do it there and then while standing over the top of them to ensure a 5star review! In summary - if you want to see the Pyramids FIND ANOTHER WAY TO DO IT and save urself the harrowing experience that we had on this trip.

It was a very long day,...

Luciana_A, Feb 2025
It was a very long day, but it was worth it, such an amazing place to visit, Hanan our guide was very friendly and helpful, we chose to go on the boat and pay€10 extra, what was part of the experience. Take lots of change as we have to pay every time we go to toilet €1 per person, be careful with “helpful people” offering to take pictures there as all the want it’s a fat tip, at the pyramid the guy who took us on a Camel ride wasn’t happy with a €5 tip, this can be a bit stressful, be prepared

This company need to be reviewed

Peguy_W, Feb 2025
The trip was a very long trip however it stated on the 16-18 hrs so that’s fine you planning to stay in hurghada with children I’ll probably say the best way to travel to Cairo excursion is by plane!!! We got picked up at the hotel at 2am arrived in Cairo 10am 1st activity was the museum which was amazing and lovey the tour guide explained everything and gave plenty of time for everyone to explore around by themselves! It stated th bus have toilet which is completely untrue no toilet on the bus the stop in shops for people to use toilet and each stop charges you like £5 loool the 2nd stop was Nile city by boat you have to pay for this separately on site $10 per person child adults same price if you don’t want to do you can stay on the bus for 45mins so basically you won’t have a choice then to go on the boat, 3rd stop is lunch buffet style the food is nice and lovely however the queue is so long and you only get 45 mins so you may not finish lunch after spending 20 mins just in queue sad, 4th stop some perfum shop which basically not even on the tour guide so waste of time 5th time the pyramids amazing stop however because they spend unnecessary time at the perfum shop you will only have 30 mins 6th stop camel horses dinky rides make show you have atleast £5 with you as they will not allow you come off the horse donkey or camel rides until you give them a tip and the tour guide will not help even your trip is paid in full they will tell you and pressure you to give tip going back to the hotel is a nightmare as our driver disappeared for an hour we were stuck on the bus oooopssss!!! It was a good trip overall for adults if you travelling with children look for alternatives and make sure you have at least £100 with you even if the tour is paid in full you need money for toilet breaks, water other stupid attractions that the add ons good luck everyone in nit using this company next time

A very long day but worth it to see the pyramids

Nicola_M, Feb 2025
As others have all said the coach trip was extremely long (8hrs there and 6hrs back) from hotel pick up to arrival in Cairo. There were very long stops at multiple check points. We had a police man on the coach and with us for the whole day, called Shariff he was very polite, friendly and made us feel safe. Our guide for the day (forgot his name) had a good sense of humour and did a good job getting us to each site. Cairo is an experience and our highlight was seeing the pyramids. There were optional extras but no pressure to join. Our boat cruise on the Nile was fantastic, we had a friendly Albanian group with us who were playing music and dancing. We joined in and it made the boat experience 100times better. The lunch buffet was ok. The Egyptian museum was rushed but we saw the main parts. We chose a horse and carriage at the pyramids because we were told you wouldn’t have time to walk. You will have time because your coach will drive up halfway. I managed to sleep on and off on the coach journey, but glad I did the trip at the start of my holiday so I could relax and catch up. I would recommend this trip but be warned it’s an extremely long day.

Long Trip to Cairo

Garry_M, Jan 2025
Okay I read the reviews and went with the trip, but please think carefully this is a long day made longer with the 2 hours it took to pick up all the travellers from Hurghada resort. We then have to go through a never ending series of tolls and check points. Back under way again then to be stopped by the the Police as Fog had descended on the Main road to Cairo. 2 hours later we were off again finally arriving in Cairo 11 hours after leaving Hurghada. The Tour was rushed but Excellent so much to see and History could have spend longer there. The tour guide Hanan was amazing and very knowledgeable and informative. Then the return trip 7 hours, so 25 hours in total, take plenty of water and food. Really enjoyed the Experience but be prepared

Thank you for your honest feedback. We’re truly sorry to hear that your experience didn’t meet your expectations, and we apologize for the issues you faced. We take your comments seriously... But from our side we have to clarify the vague points and the length of the trip. Because on this day there was severe fog which prevented the buses from moving in a regular way. And since our trip is followed by the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism. And all buses are equipped with a GPS system to measure speeds. We had to follow the instructions of the Ministry of Tourism and follow the speeds specified in this case. This is to ensure the safety of all our customers and return safely. So this is not a shortcoming on our part towards the trip and its course. But to ensure safety for everyone....... We are extremely happy that our tour guide impressed you with all the explanations and important historical information she provided, which requires an expert in his archaeological field. This increased your admiration for all the important archaeological sites.... We choose our tour guides and the latest buses very carefully to provide the best and most wonderful services to our clients, but there are natural conditions such as floods or heavy fog and mist. We must be careful and take all safety measures for our clients. This is not considered negligence on our part in our work. But out of concern and protection for everyone. It would have been better to thank us and not to blame us.... Your feedback means a lot to us, and we hope to welcome you again for another incredible experience in the future! 🌟😊

A very good day

Plagues of Egypt

Richard_D, Jan 2025
A very long day, on a very uncomfortable bus, with not very nice staff, but that was not the problem, on arrival at the Cairo museum, we joined the hundreds of others in the push and shove to get in, so you can imagine what it was like inside, then probably the item most people go to see, ( King Tutankhamuns mask ) No Photos Allowed someones great idea. Working to a tight schedule which is impossible to take things in, we're given only 20mins. free time, just about time to get out. Next came the usual tour guide perks, perfume and river boat cruise, and then after "lunch" off for round 2 of the push and pull at the pyramids, well 2 of them, another perk, to take a horse and buggy up to the point where you can see all 3 in a line, free time now to find and photograph Sphinx but not enough time to get close, it's now off to another tour perk, Papyrus painting, but that's it, so now we head for home, but not before another perk, pick up members of another tour, jam them on the bus, just to make the long drive even longer. Think thats it, well no, come the time to be dropped of at our hotel, we're dropped off on the wrong side of the road, and while trying to dodge the traffic the tour bus just missed us, which just about sums up the type of company you'd be dealing with. So if you're thinking of going to Cairo, then the sights are definitely worth seeing, but not this way, and definitely not with this company. It's little more expensive, but if we were to do it again, we'd go by plane, more time to see the sites and take in the history, and a lot less travelling time.

Thank you for taking the time to write your review. As responsible managers, we would like to clarify every point for you. As we explained previously, our bus is a modern 2023 Mercedes Benz model. Are there other models better than Mercedes Benz? This model is used by all tourism companies operating in Egypt. The length of the distance and the specified speeds are absolutely not our concern because the bus is equipped and monitored by the GPS system from the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism, and we have specific speeds that must be followed in order to avoid accidents resulting from crazy and high speeds, in order to ensure the safety of the customer. Regarding the crowding to enter the museum. The museum is open to everyone and not to our group in particular. Groups from Sharm El-Sheikh, Hurghada and other cities. Photography inside the Tutankhamun Hall and the golden mask is strictly prohibited because the camera light harms the mask, and these are the instructions of UNESCO. Everyone must follow it We spend two hours visiting the museum and two hours or more in the pyramids area. It is a large area that needs more than that. We know that very well. We have a group program that we follow and we cannot deviate from it. Regarding the group accompanying you. The total number on the bus that day was 20 people, although it can accommodate 50 people. The group went with you on the bus from Hurghada and returned with you on the same bus. What is the problem with that? Fourth. Gathering from the hotel. Your hotel is on the main street and its main entrance had some repairs, which made it impossible for any car to enter at all, and this was very clear to everyone. So why the complaint? What is the reason for it? And how do we act in this situation? We hope to see you soon.

Memories you can't take away

DrIqbal_M, Dec 2024
It was an incredible day trip to Cairo to see Pyramids and Sphinx and visit the Egyptian National Museum in Taharir Square. Tour Guide Hana (Hanan in Egyptian) did a great job and was excellent. She was very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. You can roam around Pyramid area without fear but always follow Tour Guide's instructions and guidelines. Guide assistant Hairee was very nice and helpful. The trip was worthwhile although it took 24 hours. The memories of such wonderful Pyramid and the Sphinx we will be storing in our mind for future years can never be taken by anyone from us...

A disappointing mad rush

Kim_W, Dec 2024
This experience was supposed to be our first exploration of the pyramids. However, the journey time to arrival was 10 hours! We should have arrived at 8am and instead arrived at 12pm! The rest of the day was a mad rush. With just 1 hour in the museum, where there was no time to change my daughter or use the toilets! Of course we did it anyway but the guide was unhappy. Then we had 30 minutes for lunch and by the time we got to the pyramids we had just 45 minutes! And 10 minutes at the Sphinx. The papyrus factory was missed completely and we returned to our hotel at 12:30am! We also booked and were charged for my son, who is 7 years old, but all day they said he was 5 so they did not need to pay for ticket entry for him! So basically, they could keep more money for themselves. Was not well organised, a complete rush and actually a fairly stressful experience. Personally, I would book somewhere else or next time I will not take a tour at all, but rather just go there and spend as much time as I choose. There was no time for souvenirs, no time to enjoy the places, but simply a mad rush to get in and out, take photos and back on the bus. Honestly, a fairly disappointing experience.
