We travelled as a family with 2 young children joining another family with 2 young children on the bus. The tour guide was well informed and had some quiz questions for us all when back in the bus. He helped us to get through queues at speed. Lunch was reasonable.
The downsides : the drivers sped at 130-140kmph despite speed limits of 100kmh for minibus. The driver was constantly distracted by phone. I raised this with the tour guide Akhmed wahip but this seemed to make zero difference for the return leg. In fact a new “ friend “ joined us who flashed pictures of boats to the driver.
The stops were plentiful for 10-20 mins every 2 hours or so but were in smokey slow service establishments overcharging foreigners to use the toilet 50 Egyptian pounds each at one place! Our return pickup was delayed because the two drivers overslept and didn’t hear their alarm. The pickup to depart was 1am and they were on time, but we lost maybe 45 mins on return waiting for them to come to the museum.
The tour itself was very good - the museum felt a bit rushed but at the monuments we did feel we had a perfect amount of time.
There was no discourse of 2 additional visits to a papyrus art shop and a perfume shop. I’d much have preferred to have additional time on the museum /gone to a cafe. We didn’t return to our hotel until about a 10pm.
Glad we did the trip but the transport is an ordeal we won’t be repeating!

Great value for money and definitely a must do if it's your first time in Egypt.
The drivers for the day trip were punctual and efficient when it came to getting us from A to B. They were super helpful in guiding us cross roads, finding clean toilets, etc so very attentive. Congo was our tour guide for the day and he did a fantastic job! On our trip, we started the day with some local coffee before setting off for a boat ride by the nile (if you don't opt in like us, you can stay in the car for the 30mins), then it was the Grand Egyptian Museum. This was stunning but one minor feedback would be to give visitors the choice to either follow the guide or roam themselves and reconvene at the starting point. Other than that, it was a fantastic museum and also a must do. Then we headed off for lunch at a local buffet and the food was decent .. they had grilled chicken, beef, pasta, etc.
Then we visited the Papyrus factory - this was okay and could be missed but I understand if you're travelling as a group, others might be interested in souvenirs.
Then comes what we all came for .. the Pyramids of Giza. Stunning views and you also get the chance to try some additional activities like horse carriage riding or camel riding if you're interested. Congo did a brilliant job in warning and also protecting us from the local sellers / scammers.
We then finished the night with a short trip to the Essence Factory where you can try different oils and purchase if you're interested. Once again, a good souvenir and they don't pressure you to buy.
The only downside was that we had an issue with the car on the way back which meant we had a c2hr delay in getting back home but this was a one off.

Overall an amazing experience. Things went smoothly. We had our own personal guide who was very knowledgeable and accommodating. The museum is totally awe inspiring. I found out so many things about ancient Egypt that I couldn’t have discovered by just going independently. The lunch and pyramid excursion were also excellent. I wouldn’t rate the papyrus experience. The pieces were very over priced and the staff pleasant but very pushy. Obviously it’s a long way on the bus so although water is provided take something for breakfast
