Take cash!

Orange Bay Island is stunning, however, nobody informed us that it was a cash only island. We were told that we needed £10 each to gain access to it but that was it. We weren’t able to purchase drinks or anything whilst we were there as we only took the entry fee in cash. If you’re booking this trip, take cash, and lots of it! It’s very expensive once on the island, two drinks would have cost us £18. Apart from that the trip in itself was great. We went in December so the actual boat ride across was a bit cold with the wind however, we had jackets with us so it wasn’t a problem. Snorkelling was fun, the sea was actually warmer than anticipated. Food on the boat was nice, free water and a small coke with lunch. All other drinks are charged for….cash only! Recommend this trip however I would also suggest that the tour company advises that you can only pay for everything else on the trip with cash.

A great disappointment!!!

To get out to the boat, have to take your shoes off! The boat would not start! Over to a smaller. Sat outside for 3 hours, so cold! If the wind is like when we went, 11 m/s do not go and operator should have cancelled or warned. High waves, two of the group dared try! Such a disappointment, no diving. Orange Bay not much either

this was an amazing day out, the crew made it really. it was about £12 per person for the full day with dinner provided. i would do it all again in a heart beat. snorkelling water sport and orange island. bring euros for drinks

Great experience! Mo, Mustafa and the rest of the crew were attentive and friendly, boat was very clean and lunch was delicious. Safety was maintained at all times, we were all given masks and life vests. There were two stops for snorkeling which were fantastic. Orange bay was lovely, just a little overcrowded and touristy for my liking but regardless, it was a great experience and we all loved it. Definitely recommend this activity and would do it again in a heartbeat.

Good snorkeling stops

Everything ran on time. Pick up was at 8 am, arrival at the Marina at 8:30. At 9 am we were en route. The boat was clean and comfortable. First stop was at Orange bay. They gave us 1,5 hours of free time to enjoy the sun and the water, although it was 11 am and windy, so the water was a bit cold. Then we had lunch on board, which was good and had vegetarian options. First snorkeling stop was interesting, but we only swam around the boat. It was a big group of at least 20 swimmers of all levels of experience, including children and people who couldn't actually swim and had to be towed by the guides. This means a lot of arms and legs everywhere and little respect for other swimmers ;) Second stop was better, one could at least swim a bit apart from the crowd. For the price, this is more than acceptable (renting a boat and driver to snorkeling spots is expensive for small groups). As a solo quiet traveller, I would have preferred less loud music, but people seemed to enjoy. We were back at 3:30 pm and there was a bit of confusion with the transport to the hotels, but I came home safe around 4:15 pm.

We got picked up in time, everyone was very polite and friendly. The snorkeling was super fun. So many nice fishes and corals to explore. The orange bay was great. As expected everything on the island is a bit overpriced but it's a relaxing experience overall. We just wish we had more time there. The description says 2h on the island but we only got 1.5. The luch was also pretty good, nothing too crazy but well taken care of - especially for the price we paid for a full day excursion.

Rip off prices

I'm sorry to say I didn't enjoy this trip as much as similar trips. Things that irritate me might not bother other people, of course. First, the good points - the driver turned up spot on time in a fairly new minibus; staff on the boat were very helpful, including the tour leader. The snorkelling was also good, with plenty of fish to see. I made a mistake by ordering an ice cream which had a price marked as 5$ on the boat. This is Egypt and I expect prices to be in local currency. I also probably need reading glasses because I thought it read 58 Egypt pounds. But no it was $5, USD5 or 5 dollars. The mark up was greedy. All the prices for extra drinks and anything on the boat were sky high. Once we reached shore, the prices were even higher, so I couldn't relax with a coffee. Two hours in this place seemed boring. The tranquility of the place was spoiled by some boat staff using loudspeakers, rather than headphones, for playing music.

Amazing Day Trip with Just One Small Downside

My friends and I had a really wonderful time on this snorkeling day trip! The package was very well organized — from the pickup and drop-off to all the activities included. Everything went smoothly, and we really enjoyed our time on Orange Island. The staff were friendly, the boat was nice, and overall it was a great experience. However, there was one part that made us a bit uncomfortable. One of the photographers seemed to be flirting with my friend, and when he found out she has a boyfriend, his attitude suddenly changed — he became rude to us. It wasn’t a huge incident, but it did make us feel uneasy for a little while. Aside from that, everything else was excellent, and we still had a great day. I would definitely recommend this trip, but I hope the management makes sure all team members remain professional with guests at all times.

Could be better - alot of waiting time

As we arrived by boat, we had to wait for about one hour before the staff started the trip. During that time, they tried to sell us some drinks, and we filled out some papers with our names and other details. After they started the trip, they wanted us to stand up and dance. If you didn’t want to, they tried to make you join in, which felt pretty rough. Then came the first snorkeling round, which was interesting, and everything went fine. Shortly after the first round (about 10 minutes later), we stopped for the second round. I didn’t go for the second round, but according to my wife, it was also fine. The staff took care of people and tried to show them everything. All good. After the second round, we went to Orange Bay, where we had about 1 hour and 45 minutes — which was too short. You take your spot, go into the water, take a few photos, and it’s already over. On the way back, everything was fine except that we were waiting in front of the marina for about 10–15 minutes. I had the feeling they didn’t want to finish the trip early so that nobody could say it lasted less than 8 hours, since we arrived exactly at 4 p.m. My advice: please start the trip right after everyone is on board. Don’t waste an hour at the beginning for nothing — we could have spent that extra hour on Orange Bay instead. Also, one snorkeling round would be enough so that we could have more time at Orange Bay, since not everyone wanted to go for the second one. But that’s just my opinion. One last point: they asked us to write a review on TripAdvisor in front of them, because they had to send a photo of it to their company. In my opinion, that makes the reviews on TripAdvisor not very objective. The drinks they sell are also expensive — two Coca-Colas cost €9 — and the “best before” date was already expired. So, my advice: bring your own drinks. The lunch was good.

Amazing trip in a boat with a small medium group. Picked up to the hotel at 7.40, heading to the boat. Banana and soup game on water, 2 snorkeling sessions, good fresh food on the boat, stop at the orange bay. Staff very friendly and expert. Must do it!

Great trip but we were picked up and dropped off at the marina/boat and then had to wait on the boat for 60-90mins before we left. Also it mentioned grounps of 30people or less however I counted at least 65+ people. Otherwise a great day

We would strongly recommend this trip. Gaber and his crew were so welcoming, helpful and professional. The boat was well equipped with professional snorkels, life jackets and flippers. Also toilets, showers and plenty of lower and upper beck seating. We first stopped off in 2 x locations for snorkelling. The Instructor's helped teach all the less experienced snorkelers like myself and once I got to learn the breathing technique I was away! The Instructor even gave me a personal guided tour with the safety ring to show me the best areas for the fishes and coral. After the snorkelling stops we had an amazing lunch on board which was much better than I was expecting. We then headed to Orange Bay where we had time to swim or paddle in the amazing bluey waters and relax with a cool brink. On the way back some passengers also done some water sports before we docked to Hurghada. A truly memorable trip and once of the best organised and professional boat tours I have done.

Did not bother to check on solo males Major staff were behind girls and focusing on people who can potentially give them good tip Charging 5euro extra with god knows how bad conversion they use if you pay in Egyptian pounds Also force you to review and will sit beside you - so not sure how authentic these reviews are No time management - wasted time in charging 5euro and tip and in turn that reduces total snorkeling time to under 30 mins Unnecessary restriction on not letting to use premises saying you are not dry

Horrible, dangerous to kids, dont book!

Everything sucked about this trip. Pick up was an hour late. We did not go to Orange Bay at all. Others booked a completely different tour and yet we were on the same boat. The reefs were totally grey, hardly any nice corals, so also less nice fish to see. My kids were new to snorkeling and were anxious. We told the staff upfront, but there was hardly any instruction or help. We had to save our son ourself who panicked because he couldnt breathe. Instructions were: put gear on, get in the water and go! Not enough! Absolute waste of our last day in Egypt.

Very cool activity ! The team on the boat was professional and kind, they did everything they promised (1.5h in Orange bay, 2 snorkeling spots and water sports : banana and sofa), lunch was decent (spaghetti, chicken nuggets, rice, salads etc). I would have put 5 stars if the transportation to/from the pier was good but it wasn’t. The car didn’t had AC (as mentioned), the driver was clueless, he kept going in circle asking people on the street for help to find another hotel instead of simply using a GPS (this was a shared van), what a waste of time.
