We had an amazing time visiting Cairo. Our guide, Shreif was friendly, informative and helpful all day long. It was amazing to see the pyramids and visit the Egyptian museum. Some advice would be that you can take suncream and water through the domestic customs. Very enjoyable and informative would definitely recommend.

All the best sites in one day!

Congo is full of Egyptian knowledge and offered some great photo ops! Pyramids and Sphinx are incredible things to witness! Long day, but wonderful tour!

Max value with pyramids and GEM!

Bert_S, Dec 2025
Nice trip. Had a private tour with guide “Moh”. Following Moh’s recommendation, we entered the small pyramid. Personally, I would skip the camel ride at the pyramids next time. Prefer walking with the family. Spent almost 4h at GEM after we went to pyramids. Moh was able to show us and explain all interesting artefacts in the GEM, then we spent one free hour at GEM. We also visited oil/perfume manufacturing house and something about the creation of papyrus. Good grip! Exhausting but worth the money!

Flight doesn’t exist

Colin_M, Nov 2025
We were dropped at the airport at 16:00 after the trip and told the flight is at 19:30, turns out that flight doesn’t exist and that we have to wait till 22:00 for the next flight!!! So we are stuck 6 hours at an airport

Response from Host, Nov 2025

to clarify that any changes or delays in flight timings are completely beyond our control, as they are determined by the airlines themselves, especially during peak seasons when operational pressure can lead to unexpected schedule adjustments. Nonetheless, we always do our best to follow up with the airlines to minimize any impact on our guests. We are truly sorry that you had to wait, and we hope this does not affect your future travel experience with us.

Mixed feelings

Hannah_B, Nov 2025
The ‘optional’ Nile cruise did not seem optional at all. There was no other choice. So we had to pay for it. Lunch was included, however they charged me 15 euros per person anyway. The extra 90 euros in total for me and my 2 sons was not expected and left a bad taste unfortunately. Other than that- the trip was amazing!

There was lots to do...

Craig_S, Oct 2025
There was lots to do during the day, but not a lot of time to do it. Flight was fun on a turboprop Went to the museum, the guide didnt want to pick up the earphones and microphone, so was very hard to hear. He was very knowledgeable but he did go on a bit. We only had 30mins free time, which wasnt time enough to walk around and take it all in. Then off to an upselling shop to buy papyrus The meal was basic but ok, £4 a drink is where they get you. Dont mind a bit of overcharging but come on. Pyramids, again the guide was knowledgeable but didnt leave us much time to look around before we had to leave. You dont actually get to go to the sphinx, just walk past it on the road. Another upselling shop of essential oils During the day, you will be told you have to wait for 5hrs at the airport for your flight home, or you can pay €45 for a nice cruise, but they will knock off €10 if you booked the daytime one. Discusting behaviour, especially as people on the boat told us they paid $40 all in with transfers. I suspect the 5hr wait is to get you to go on the cruise. And they charged full price for the kids when they'd been getting them child tickets all day. Would not recommend this trip, done a few trips and this was the most expensive and one of the worse

Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We sincerely apologize that your experience did not meet expectations, especially on a tour that should have been enjoyable, well-organized, and stress-free. We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed the flight and found the guide knowledgeable, but we are truly sorry for the issues you encountered, including limited time at the museum and pyramids, difficulty hearing the guide, and the stops that felt oriented toward upselling. This is not the standard of experience we aim to deliver. Your comments regarding the long airport wait, the optional cruise offer, pricing inconsistencies, and the limited access to certain sites such as the Sphinx are very concerning. We will be raising these points directly with our local partners to ensure greater transparency, fairness, and better time management moving forward. Your feedback is extremely valuable and will help us improve the overall quality of the tour. We appreciate you bringing these matters to our attention and sincerely apologize for any disappointment caused. If you would like to discuss your experience further, we would be happy to assist you. Thank you again for your honesty.

A very mixed day...

Paul_B, Oct 2025
A very mixed day. Pyramids and museum were great. Flights were late each way, this limited our time in the museum and in the Giza plateau - not the fault of Viator or FTS tours, but Air Cairo. Ibrahim, our guide was excellent and very knowledgeable. The driver too was great. After the pyramids, we were taken to a perfume factory where they tried to sell us fragrances we didn't actually want. It was never on the original itinerary and not anything i'd have ever asked to go to. Alas, everybody wants their share of the tourist cash cows that we are. While in this fragrance place, they sweetened us up with some boiling hot peppermint tea, which my 13 year old son spilt all over his legs, as it was too hot to hold. This resulted in a mad panic, the trip being cut short to try and find some medical assistance around Cairo. Neither the perfume shop or the local tour company had appropriate first aid kits or anything to treat burns. The driver took us to a pharmacy where we got some cream, and then to a hospital for further assessment, pain relief etc. Nobody had a clue how to respond and i daresay this delay made his burns worse. (Diagnosed as 3rd degree burns). The injuries completely ruined the last 3 days of our holiday. 3 days of IV antibiotic drips, tablets and cream, bandages redressed and lots of pain. He was unable to walk, let alone use the pools and slides. He's now recovering and the skin is growing back. I would urge Viator, the fragrance place and FTS to be more vigilant in their choice of vendors, ensuring that all guides and locations have better emergency preparedness. I'd also urge them to check that the itinerary offered is the one that's provided.

Failed trip we booked. Disappointed at airport!

Dave_E, Oct 2025
We were contacted by the local provider FTS Travel. They sent us flight time 9.45am. There was no flight. At 8.29am they sent us a new flight time!! New flight time 8.45am. But that flight had already closed by then. So whole trip cancelled. At this point we are feeling let down and are waiting for a refund.

A dream come true!!

ERLINDA_D, Sep 2025
Seeing the Pyramids has always been on my bucket list, and this tour exceeded every expectation. Our guide Ahmed Hassan was incredibly knowledgeable and brought ancient history to life. The air was hot and dusty, yet I had goosebumps the entire time. Even just approaching the pyramids from a distance was breathtaking. The stop at the Egyptian Museum was another highlight. Seeing the treasures of Tutankhamun up close was unforgettable. The photographer batoot capturing shots I’ll treasure forever. Highly recommend! Ahmed Hassan

Stunning Sights, Disappointing Tour

Trevor_S, Aug 2025
We booked this Cairo day trip from Hurghada to avoid the gruelling 5-hour road journey each way. The promise? An early flight, guided visits to the Pyramids, Sphinx, and Egyptian Museum, and a return by evening. The reality? A chaotic, exhausting 18-hour ordeal with only 5 hours spent at the actual attractions. The Day Begins… Late The night before, we were informed our pick up had been pushed back 3 hours to 07:15 AM, with a return flight from Cairo at 11:25 PM—far later than advertised. While the extra sleep in the morning was welcome, the delay had serious consequences. Hotel pickup was smooth, and the Egypt Air flight painless. At Cairo, we met our group: three families crammed into a tired minibus. Our guide greeted us with bottled water and soft drinks—a thoughtful touch, but sadly the last one. Museum Misery The guide, though fluent and very knowledgeable, quickly soured the mood. She quizzed us on Ancient Egypt, then swiftly dismissed our answers in a condescending manner leaving us feeling like foolish schoolchildren. At the museum, she monopolised our time with long-winded lectures at just a handful of the many exhibits. When we tried to explore independently, she scolded us and called us back. Standing in one place for long periods took their toll on my daughter and another guest due to the heat and humidity and they needed to sit down - only to be chastised for not drinking enough water. We left having seen barely a fraction of the museum’s treasures. Years ago, I wandered its halls in awe. This time, I was bored and relieved to escape. Pyramids and Pressure Lunch near the Pyramids was fine—standard buffet fare, drinks not included. At the site, we endured another lengthy monologue before being herded onto a shuttle. The guide controlled every stop, though she did take a few decent photos for us. We reached the Sphinx at 4:20 PM—just ten minutes before closing. As staff began clearing the area, the guide insisted we film glowing video reviews for her website. Too tired to argue, we mumbled through it before being ushered away having not had time to actually appreciate what we'd come to see. Seven Hours to Kill With the tour over by 4:30 PM and our flight not until 11:25 PM, we were stranded. The guide took us to a perfume shop—clearly part of a pre-arranged deal—where we endured a sales pitch and more pressure to leave reviews. When we declined, she became almost hostile before giving us our options: 1) Wait six hours at the airport, 2) get dropped at a mall and find our own way, or 3) pay $40 each for a Nile dinner cruise. We all reluctantly chose the cruise. Nile Cruise: A Pricey Letdown The boat was scenic, but the buffet was grim—flies, dirty plates, and food left out far too long. The sunset was lovely, but again, the guide berated us for missing the entertainment below deck. Was it worth $120 for three? Absolutely not. But it beat sitting in a departure lounge. We reached the airport around 8:30 PM, still three hours before take off, with the guide’s review demands echoing in our heads, finally arriving back at our hotel in Hurghada just after 01:30 AM. Final Thoughts This tour felt engineered to squeeze extra money from us—through perfume pitches, coerced reviews, and an overpriced cruise. The actual highlights—the Pyramids, Sphinx, and museum—were breathtaking, but poorly presented and extremely rushed. Verdict: Visit Cairo, absolutely. But skip this tour. You’ll get more value, freedom, and respect by planning it yourself—even if it means braving the bus.

Great tour!

Cairo trip.

Gerard_M, Jul 2025
Dreams come true, Ahmed Wahib met us at the airport with a big smile and genuine warmth. First stop was the Cairo museum, Ahmed was very knowledgeable and offered plenty of facts regarding all aspects of the tour. Onto the Great Pyramids. AMAZING. again Ahmed was full of information and facts. Zanaty our driver was also a pleasure to be around, offering drinks and getting us around the crazy Egyptian traffic safely. What a wonderful day and I would urge everyone to book this trip with these two guys.

Our most excellent Cairo tour.

Spencer_S, Jul 2025
Our guide Ahmed Wahib was most excellent. Very knowledgeable of Egyption history of all the places we visited today., and answered all of my many questions. I would be very happy to have Ahmed as a guide for any future tours we have in Egypt. Zanaty our driver was very good and drove very well and safely throughout our trip.

Fantastic day

We were taken around the museum and the pyramids of Giza with a very knowledgeable tour guy called Ahmed Wahib. He made the day fun and enjoyable. Our driver provided cold drinks all throughout the excursion. A really good day.

Worthwhile

Eugene_L, Jun 2025
Interesting and informative, guide (Sheriff) was knowledgable and extremely amiable, would recommend this trip

Could have been better

Pamela_F, Jun 2025
I booked the air tour hoping to spend more time at the pyramids and in the museum, I think we got an hour at both sites which wasn’t long enough in my opinion. I should have asked the guide why we visited the museum first as the pyramids close at 4pm and the museum closes at 6pm I enjoyed the experience as these were both places I’d wanted to visit for a long time but I feel the tour itinerary could be planned out much better The 23:25 flight back to Hurghada wasn’t what I had in mind when I booked the trip, it made the day (door to door) 18 hours long which is the same or longer than the coach tours I’ve seen available

Amazing tour with Ahmed Hassan

Stacy_B, Jun 2025
The trip was seamless from booking to end. The behind the scenes team kept us informed about pick up times and transfers. Ahmed was waiting on our arrival at Cairo airport which was a blessing, from there we were transported to the first stop by Ehad in a fully aircondotioned vehicle with plenty of cold drinks to go around ( and last the day) Ahmed H waa exceptionally knowledgeable without being overpowering and confusing, he made the trip fun and engaging which is ideal on holiday. He kept us to time meaning we had ample in the museum & and the Pyramids. He managed to coax a shy teenager into having pictures taken with the Sphinx creating life long memories. A bonus for us ( due to flight times) was the dinner cruise along the Nile with local entertainment. A really long day ( 7 am pick up and 1 am drop off) but so very worth it, it didn’t feel long or boring which is largely due to how efficient Ehad navigated the roads and how Ahmed presented the Egyptology. We were a small group of 8 so interacted well which made for a really enjoyable time! Overall I’d highly recommend Ahmed &Ehan. A fabulous day with so many highlights and lifelong memories created! Thank you x

Fantastic day!

Monica_P, Jun 2025
Ahmed hassan was our guide today and was absolutely fantastic, me and my friends had a fantastic day. There was nothing too much for Ahmed to do for us during our day, from taking photographs to showing us all the best places … From start to finish it was outstanding

Fantastic day, highly recommended

Fantastic trip which was very well organised and ran smoothly. My Guide Mohamed Amin was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and welcoming and made it an unforgettable day. Highly recommended.

We had a trip with Ahmed...

Ahlam_M, May 2025
We had a trip with Ahmed Hassan as our tour guide and Mohammed as our driver. We started the day at the Egyptian Museum and Ahmed was so knowledgable and giving us a whistle-stop tour (as the museum is so large there is no way we could have covered everything). It was amazing learning about the history of Ancient Egypt thousands of years ago.from here we went to lunch which was a buffet restaurant and the food was just ok. Then the highlight of the day was visiting Giza, seeing the pyramids and the sphinx. Some of our tour opted for a dinner cruise down the Nile but I wanted to just do a river cruise and explore the markets and hustle and bustle of Cairo. Things you should note: 1. There were no scheduled breaks to use the restroom facilities etc and we felt quite rushed during the day as there was a lot to do and see before the attractions closed at 5pm 2. The terrain at Giza at some places was very unstable and might not be suitable for some people with mobility issues. This was not related to us before the tour and so suitable footwear is a must 3. There was some miscommunication regarding what was included in the tour and who bought what ticket. The people included in our tour all had different tickets and so there were times we were waiting for others to finish their upgraded option. In the high heat at Giza, this got tiring. But we stumbled upon a cafe nearby for some welcomed AC.

Excellent trip would highly recommend

Conor_M, May 2025
Me and my partner had an excellent day in ciaro, we were treated by mo at the airport without any issues we then were escorted to our air conditioned mini bus we had brief chat about the history of eygpt whilst we passed memorable buildings, our first stop was the museum of eygpt we throughly enjoyed it mo explained all the history and ot was very interesting, we then went to look at how paper was made from popus and looked at the beautiful pictures, our next stop was a devious lunch we then headed off to the pyramids where we had a professional photographer who was excellent and had camel rides around all the pyramids. I can't recommend this trip any more it was a brilliant day.

Good guide, poor travel times

CesarRicardo_H, Mar 2025
We took the day trip by plane from Hurghada today and had a wonderful time exploring the pyramids, visiting the museum, and enjoying a lovely lunch. Our tour guide, Ahmed Waheeb, was excellent—knowledgeable, professional, and very helpful throughout the day. He even went above and beyond to assist us when our return flight was scheduled much later than expected, offering a complimentary Nile cruise with dinner to make up for the inconvenience. That said, we were surprised and a bit disappointed that our return flight was booked for 11 PM, making our total trip nearly 24 hours long (starting at 2:50 AM). Other travelers on the same tour had return flights at 8 PM, so we wish we had been informed earlier about this schedule difference. Unfortunately, we only found out the day before, leaving us with no option to adjust our plans. Had we known in advance, we might have opted for a bus trip instead, as our main reason for choosing the flight option was to save time and have a more relaxing experience. Despite this, we truly appreciate Ahmed’s efforts in making the situation as comfortable as possible. He handled everything with great professionalism, and our experience with him was excellent. While we loved the sights and the tour itself, we would suggest that the company provide clearer flight details upfront to ensure travelers can make fully informed decisions. The five star review is for Ahmed as a tour guide; the flight back for us gets 0 stars

Overall we had a great day. Our guide Sheref was very knowledgable and looked after us well. It is however a very long day. We had finished all of the planned activities by 3:30pm and our flight home wasn’t until 11:30pm. The time it took to do the pyramids, sphinx and Egyptian museum was about 4 hours. The rest of the activities were time fillers and we felt pressured to buy things we didn’t want at times by the owners of the shops. We did feel some pressure by the tour operator to go on a 40€ river cruise at the end of the day. After we were clear that we didn’t want to do this, Sheref was able to find us a local hotel room to rest in before our late flight home which was much appreciated. We also had to decide as a group if we wanted to do the river cruise which became quite awkward as one member of our group was keen and the rest were not. Although we understand that these flights were booked as they were likely the cheapest option, having been given a choice we would have paid extra to come home a bit earlier.

Excellent tour, great tour guides.

Aaron_J, Mar 2025
This is a once in a lifetime trip and our tour operators were so helpful our tour guide Ahmed Hassan was great and our driver Hosny. Ahmed was so helpful and knowledgeable and kept the day fun. The trip itself is very well organised and everything ran so smooth and made the most of our time in Cairo. Would 100 percent recommend this trip.

Sharif was an excellent tour guide, making sure we were all happy . The tour of the museum was expecially informative, with sharif telling us lots of interesting facts. It's a very long day but the visit to the pyramids and the museum made it worth being tired. Big thanks to Sharif for looking after as all so well.
