A Day of Spontaneous Discovery with George!

George was a truly excellent driver-host! He communicated with us before the trip to make sure all the details were set, and picked us up directly at our lodging as promised. He even provided booster seats for the two children in our group, ages 6 and 8, which was a thoughtful touch. Throughout the day, George was courteous, professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly attentive. He went out of his way to make sure our family had the best possible experience exploring beautiful eastern Crete. Knowing that we had a special interest in the island of Spinalonga, George took the initiative to ask our boat captain to take the long way around so we could see the entire island. We hadn't even asked him to do this—he simply recognized an opportunity to make our experience better and made it happen. Another wonderful example happened in the village of Kastelli Fourni. Over coffee, I asked George about the castle the village was named after. He took the question to a couple of local residents, one of whom turned out to be a former teacher who offered to show us the remaining Venetian ruins. Before we knew it, we were on an entirely unscripted tour of parts of the village, with George translating for us! These spontaneous moments were what made our day so special. George was incredibly flexible and gave us the kind of immersive, authentic experience that you simply can't plan in advance. His curiosity, thoughtfulness, and genuine desire to share Crete with us made the day unforgettable. George is the best! We highly recommend him.
