Itinerary
Begin your day with pickup from your hotel. Make sure you are carrying your pre-purchased national park ticket (not included). Meet your guide, then settle into the air-conditioned minivan to head south.
Make your first stop at Ahu Huri A Urenga, a single statue with four hands aligned to the sunrise at winter solstice. Head farther south to the Ahu Vinapu, where skillful engineering suggests contact with the Incas, then to the coastal area of Hanga Poukura, home to rough lava rock formations and several statues mysteriously buried in a line, with only the backs visible.
Take a break for lunch (not included), before heading for Rano Raraku. This crater functioned as a kind of factory where most of the island's statues were carved. Since the workers stopped, the hundreds of statues left behind haven't moved.
The final stop is Ahu Tongariki, the island's biggest ahu with 15 mighty moais. Your day ends with drop-off back at your hotel. This tour does not pick up at cruise ship terminals.

Excellent informative private tour with Albert. He was very knowledgeable and taught us a lot about the Rapa Nui culture.

Our local guide Andres was exceptional and extremely knowledgeable. We were very pleased to have been able to have Andres as our guide for two full days on the island.

This was the 2nd day/part. The second day we were picked up from our hotel. It was not the same van as day before and husband was very uncomfortable due to no back support and unable to adjust seat. So he chose to return to the hotel. I spook and asked to be refunded for tour since not able to accommodate. No but no. The day before he was fine but not on second van. There was just texting between guide and manager. Never asked the guide to hand phone to my husband to discuss possible options to accomodate.

I went on this excursion with the guide Simon. He is one of a kind! Knows so much about history of the island, always ready to answer any question, and pays attention to every person in the group. The places we have seen are amazing and if you have only a couple of days on the island this tour (actually with another tour to 2 other parts of the island) is a best opportunity to see everything in a ahort period of time. Absolutely recommended!

So I actually took a two day tour with the same company Easter Island tours , you definitely need the two day tour but if you can only do one day then definitely do the day that goes to the quarry. The highlight of the trip is that the owners of the tour company had us at their home for a delicious lunch and sang several beautiful songs for the group.

Note: Be sure you purchase the Rapa Nui Nacional Park ticket prior to taking this tour ($80 USD). Now on to the tour...Benjamin was our guide for the day and he was awesome! He helped give us a great understanding of each Rapa Nui spot we visited along the southern and eastern part of the island including the iconic moai statue sites of Rano Raraku and Ahu Tongariki. Lunch was hosted at Markus' home and it was fantastic. Markus, his wife, and their family were very kind and welcoming and the lunch they made for us was amazing! Definitely will recommend this tour to my friends and family. Thank you for the memories! - Nolan

Excelent guide and the extraordinary was the Lunch with the Eastern Travel owners ( the local company that run the tours) in their family home. In a gazebo in their large garden on their ancestral land. The wife also is a singer and composer that play for as as we share the meal with their family. This travel company added this key component of opening their home, share history and music with their kids running around.

Highly recommend as an orientation for Easter Island. Shane was a very informative guide and was great at sharing his passion for the mysteries of this amazing place.

Sofia Fernandez was the guide/driver and probably the best day tour guide that I have ever had. She guided non-stop for over 8 hours and filled us with the history and magic of the island. She had stories and information and answers to all our question. The van was nice and the small group allowed us an easy pace. I was picked up on time at my hotel. Yamileth at Easter Island travel answered all my questions via e-mail before my trip. Take this tour with the North and West full-day and you will have seen all the best sites. This was a great experience that I will never forget.

It was the perfect way to start our time in Easter Island. We learned a LOT and saw a few places we wouldn't have made it to on our own. Highly recommend!

The tour was great and at thorough pace which we liked. Sophia was amazing. She was fun knowledgeable and had answers for all our questions.
Ken F - Keystone, Aug 2017
Excellent tour with a knowledgeable guide - Sofia!! It would be very possible to rent a car or ATV and see the sites on your own, but hearing the history, legends and stories of the Island were very, very worth the price. Everything was perfect and well worth the cost!
