Since the first flame was lit, we knew we were up for a great experience. The area was amazing: cliffs, rocks, the sunrise and many many balloons. The pilot had a funny way of 'lifting' our spirits, made us laugh and gave us an amazing view over the valleys.

We got blessed with beautiful weather. This is certainly one of those things that has to be experienced in person, as beautiful as the pictures are it quite literally feels like a fairytale experience. The tour company was amazing as well and communicated really well throughout the whole trip, they’re so skilled they’re able to land the balloon right on the trailer which was really impressive.

We had come to Capadocia for 2 days and had everything arranged in advance so we wouldn’t miss anything. The day we arrived we started hearing comments in the tour that the day before the balloons hadn’t flown and wouldn’t be flying the next 2 days due to weather conditions.
That afternoon they chatted with us asking to change the date to the next day offering a touring day as compensation for the change. Since we had gone only for 2 days we declined. They confirmed the original arrangement. At night they sent the pick up instructions for the next day with our name and hotel wrong.
The next day there was no pick up. When we chatted to ask they sent a photo of a ripped balloon and offered to place us in another balloon but soon afterwards offered a refund. On our next tour were told that tickets were charged up to 600€. The photo of an old ripped balloon can be used infinite times when you can sell for 600€.
We felt cheated and frustrated.

Good responsiveness of tour operator to clarify details. The balloon ride was well organized, and we went both low and high (which was very cool!), above Göreme itself and some valleys. Also nice that the starting point is already between some rock formations, not on the big field next to Göreme. Good pilot, and not a show-off like some others. But of course it’s all about “getting everyone excited” to spend even more on extras, particularly after the landing - but I guess that’s the deal.

I scheduled the flight for a Wednesday and had purchased the ticket for around 180 EUR but unfortunately flights were cancelled due to weather conditions. Nones fault, something that cannot be controlled. Nevertheless, we agreed to reschedule for the next day and they would send new instructions. I waited and got a response until 8 pm, saying that I was now scheduled for the next day but the price increased to 220 EUR. It was too late to find something else, so I agreed. Then, woke up again early in the morning at was ready for pick up as agreed by 5 am. Minutes passed and no van came this time. Texted them, and only because I reached out they notified me that it was cancelled because the balloon had a tear.
I get it. Unforeseen event they miscalculated. Yet, a few things made me pissed. 1, they did not notified when it happened and had me waiting for a van that would never comer. 2, I was able to see over 40 balloons depart that morning. Had they transferred us to competing companies, we would had all gotten into a balloon. 3, they had abused and intended to charge more from the originally agreed price and delayed the notification until it was too late to procure another company.

I'm so impressed of how convenient to contact the company. My hostel was not on the lists of pickup point. But Ahmed helped us and reponded straight away. The balloon experience is so good. We felt safe for whole trip.
