The pick-up and drop-off from our accommodation were reasonably on time. Our tour guide was very accommodating and friendly. Although it was lightly raining during our trip, our experience at Mt Tabourine rainforest was inspiring and awesome, connecting with nature. The glowworm in the cave was also very educational.

Decent Destinations, But the Guide’s Sass and Lack of Help Took Away From the Experience

    Lauren_B, Dec 2025
The experiences on this tour are just okay — you’re mostly paying for the commute up the mountain. Make sure you do your research ahead of time, because they’ll ask where else you want to go around the mountain but won’t offer any real suggestions outside of the Glow Worms and the Skywalk. And if you do ask to be dropped somewhere specific, be prepared for a bit of attitude. The guide gave so much sass about drop-offs that he talked multiple small groups out of going where they originally wanted to go. It made the whole thing way more uncomfortable than it needed to be.

    Response from Host, Dec 2025

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re genuinely sorry that your experience was impacted by the tone of the guide on the day. That’s not the standard we aim to deliver, and we appreciate you raising it. As soon as this was brought to our attention, our team acted quickly — within 30 minutes — to address the situation. Our admin team checked in with guests throughout the remainder of the day to offer additional assistance, alternative drop-off options, and support to ensure everyone could still enjoy their time on Tamborine Mountain. The majority of guests reported having a great day, which we’re pleased about, but we recognise that this doesn’t diminish your experience. Our Hop On Hop Off service is designed to be flexible, friendly, and helpful — including offering suggestions for where to go depending on time, interests, and operating hours. We’ve since followed this up internally to ensure clearer guidance and a consistently welcoming approach from all team members. We value honest feedback like this, as it helps us improve. If you’d like to discuss your experience further, we’d be more than happy to do so directly. Thank you again for sharing your thoughts.

    Worst Viator tour ever.

Not at all what we expected. There is one bus. The group that never met before decides where the driver should go. Once there if this is not something you wanted to do you're stuck waiting for the rest of the group to finish. This is NOT like a typical hop on hop off bus. Our first stop was at a winery and the glow worm caves. We had prepaid to do the caves. We got there at 10:15 and was told our tour wasn't until 11. We had to wait 45 minutes. After the glow worms mist if the group wanted the Skywalk. Since it was raining heavily the driver suggested we do the gallery walk through the town. No real galleries. Instead, cheap souvenir stores, crystal stores, fortune tellers and restaurants. No information was provided about the various restaurants which would have been helpful. Since it was pouring we randomly chose the closest one. After lunch the rain lessened so we did the Skywalk. We were given 45 minutes to do that which required a brisk walk. I'd have liked more time. By this point the guide suggested we stop at a waterfall that required only a short hike since we were running out of time. When that was finished she brought us to a distillery for the purpose of us changing buses. However we ended up waiting quite a while for a group of 13 who had spent the day going to various wineries. Some of them were clearly intoxicated. On the drive back they played very loud music, spoke loudly and used curses. It was a terrible experience.

Hi there, Thank you for sharing your experience with us, I’m really sorry to hear that the day didn’t meet your expectations. Rainy days on Tamborine Mountain definitely make things more challenging, and it sounds like the weather played a big part in limiting what you were able to comfortably enjoy. I also want to clarify a few things about how our Hop On Hop Off service works, because it seems there were some misunderstandings on the day: Flexible Hop On Hop Off – You Choose Where to Go Our service doesn’t run on a fixed group itinerary. You are never required to stay with a group or visit a location you’re not interested in. The bus operates on demand, and guests can hop on or off anywhere on the mountain simply by letting the driver know. If you didn’t want to wait or didn’t want to visit a particular attraction, the driver could have returned for you or taken you straight to another stop of your choice. You’re never “stuck” anywhere unless you choose to stay. More Galleries Than Meets the Eye Tamborine Mountain actually has many genuine galleries and working studios, the mountain thrives on local artists, artisans, and handmade goods. Unfortunately, on wet days many people understandably rush to the nearest indoor shops, which can give the impression that it’s all souvenir stores. We’re happy to provide recommendations based on your interests so you get the best of the local art culture. you just need to ask. Timing at Glow Worms & Skywalk Glow Worm Caves do operate on set tour times, so we do need to align with this, The Skywalk normally takes 45–60 minutes at a relaxed pace; on days with reduced visibility or rain the experience is often quicker than usual. Tamborine Mountain is a beautiful place even in the rain, but you deserved a much smoother experience and more personalised guidance on how to make the most of the flexibility of the Hop On Hop Off service. We also offer private tours if you prefer not to spend time with other guests. Thank you again for the feedback — it genuinely helps us improve. Warm regards, Pineapple Tours Team

    Awful tour

    Lance_M, Oct 2025
DO NOT GO. Way overpriced for what you get. 8-hour trip but only about 3 hours not on the bus. Glowworms and skywalk nice but that's only about 1 1/2 hours. Lunch for another hour and forest walk for 1/2 hour. It should not be called hop on/off. It's not like most towns hop on/off. You can only go to a couple of places and only on their schedule. And if you get Andy as your guide, he is the absolute worst we have ever had. He talks nonstop but doesn't really say anything. He repeats everything 10 times (not an exaggeration). And his voice is so monotone you can't stand it. Even on the 1 1/2 return trip when some were trying to nap a little, he couldn't go 10 minutes without talking. And he was not giving a tour or pointing out sites. Just talk. Save your money.

    Response from Host, Nov 2025

Hi Lance, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that the experience didn’t meet your expectations. Tamborine Mountain is located about an hour from both Brisbane and the Gold Coast, so travel time to and from the mountain is a normal and expected part of the day. If you were hoping for a city-based tour, we also offer Brisbane and Gold Coast sightseeing options that stay local and don’t include regional travel. Our Tamborine Mountain Hop On Hop Off service was designed to support beautiful regions like Tamborine Mountain that are popular with visitors but have limited public transport options. Guests are welcome to hop on and off at any of our designated stops around the mountain, and if you’re unsure where to go, our friendly drivers are always happy to recommend attractions, walks, and dining options to suit your interests. It’s also the cheapest way to get to Tamborine Mountain. We appreciate your feedback and will review your comments to continue improving our guest experience. Kind regards, The Pineapple Tours

    Anthony Was the Best

    Mercedes_W, Oct 2025
Anthony was absolutely incredible. He was great to talk to, learn from, and tour with. He is a wealth of information. Made our experience incredible. I wish the experience was longer. We did the glow worm cave (I would recommend skipping next time - they were very small and hard to see) and then decided to do a hike and walk through the town instead of the Rainforest Walk. A lot of people recommended skipping the rainforest walk, I would agree. Enjoy the town on the mountain instead. We also got to stop at the Witches Brewery, 10/10.

    Locations were great

    Stephanie_C, Apr 2025
The locations themselves are great! I highly recommend them. It might have just been the day that we went, but there was a lot of driving around and waiting. We spent an hour and a half in town at lunch then went on our afternoon tour only to be driven back to town and dropped off to wait 45 minutes for a bus to take us home. We could have shaved a couple hours off the day if we weren’t driving around.

    Response from Host, Apr 2025

Thank you for your review! We’re so glad to hear you enjoyed the Rainforest Skywalk and Glow Worm Caves — they’re truly special locations. Tamborine Mountain stretches about 15 minutes drive from end to end, you are also able to walk and explore as there are many attractions next to each other, some driving between attractions is necessary. Our Hop on Hop off service is designed to give guests the flexibility to explore the places that interest them most, at their own pace. That does sometimes mean waiting between bus loops depending on where and when you hop off, but never more than 10-15minutes and we’re always working to improve the flow so it suits as many travel styles as possible. Thanks again for the feedback — we hope to welcome you back again soon for another adventure!

Overpriced taxi to tourist you around

    Jasper_D, Apr 2025
What you’re paying for is transportation to see a few simple catered touristy things. ‘View this lookout! See this man made cave with some glow worms in it! Walk this beaten path with 100s of others to see a very average waterfall’. It’s honestly nothing special and overpriced. I would not recommend it.

    Response from Host, Apr 2025

We’re sorry to hear that your experience didn’t meet your expectations. Our team went to great lengths to accommodate your booking and ensure a seamless, enjoyable day — something that would normally cost over $250 each way by taxi with no way to get around the mountain once you are there, a full day of exploring would be in the thousands and its a really long walk otherwise, without the benefit of local knowledge or flexible itineraries. Tamborine Mountain is one of Queensland’s most beloved destinations, with hundreds of unique places to explore — from breathtaking lookouts and rainforest walks to wineries, distilleries, and artisan shops. While some sites are popular for good reason, we also offer a hop-on hop-off model that allows guests to explore at their own pace and discover hidden gems that suit their interests. It’s also important to note that Tamborine Mountain currently has no public transport options — one of the key reasons we’ve built this service. Our long-term goal is to create a more sustainable and affordable way for both locals and visitors to access the mountain, while reducing congestion and the environmental impact of private cars in the region. We’re proud to offer a service that not only connects people with nature and regional communities, but also contributes to a more eco-friendly future for tourism in Southeast Queensland. Thank you again for your feedback — we always aim to improve. Warm regards, The Pineapple Tours Team

    Pleasant

Skywalk was amazing and so tranquil. Worms were OK but would not pay that much for them. The botanical garden was very nice and wish we had more time to experience it. The Curtis Falls was a muddy walk.

    Just sit back and enjoy...

    Monica_T, Jan 2025
Just sit back and enjoy the driver will take you all around the island to the main places and then there’s time in between where they’ll ask you what other places you would like to see. Unfortunately, there isn’t enough hours in the day to see him do everything, but you can get a lot in.

    Tamborine On Your Own Time

    Benny_H, Dec 2024
Great unique way of exploring the Tamborine area. Communication with the tour team was simple using WhatsApp. Was impressed with the simple "just send us a message" for pick up. This allowed us to explore areas of our choosing without the feeling of being rushed from traditional set itinerary tour groups. Pickup time once notified was around 5-10 minutes. For us, our day started at 9:15AM with pickup at Brisbane Marriott with the tour company asking people to be ready for pickup for return to Brisbane at 3:30PM. As for the type of vehicle, it will either be a larger passenger van or smaller bus depending on the size of the group.
