We took a 4 hour tour with Jocelyn and we had a lovely time. There was lots of walking, but we saw many interesting things from shrines, a water show at the downtown shopping area and lovely gardens. Jocelyn was in contact with me a few times in advance of our trip to plan according to our interests. This tour was among the best we have had. Having it taylored to us makes all the difference. Jocelyn was always concerned about our well-being. She spoke English perfectly and helped us travel on the bus and get us safely into a cab at the end of the tour. We had lunch at a local Ramen restaurant that was a Fukuoaka specialty and it was delicious! We could not have asked for a better guide and tour. Thank you Jocelyn!

Great tour to uncover hidden gems of Fuokoka starting with a rooftop city view at Hankyu Dept Store with a garden and zen atmosphere . City shrines , Full Full mentai baguette where ppl que in . A definite must try experience and best ramen for dinner I’ve had . Jocelyn was a great guide . Not your run of the mill city tour showing highlights of the city you would not normally see . Perfect for us becoz that was the kind of experience we were looking for . Got to see a red light district, trendy vintage shops in Tenjin aside from the malls at Hakata . If you are into hidden gems, this a a must try experience. Ask for a younger guide like Jocelyn .

A fabulous, customised walk. Jocelyn, our guide, was knowledgeable and friendly, flexible too. Gave us some great tips about local spots also. A very pleasurable way to experience Fukuoka through the eyes of someone who lives here.

Fukuoka needs a fine day, and a truly LOCAL guide. Unfortunately it rained heavily all day. We came off the cruise ship and to meet our guide we had to walk some 10-15 minutes in the rain to the ferry terminal (not the international cruise terminal). This was because this is where the local bus leaves from. If we had known this we would have got the ship's shuttle into town and arranged to meet the guide there as we also had to walk back to the ship in the rain from the ferry terminal. The guide communicated well beforehand and warned us there could be moderate rain and suggested the itinerary be amended. We agreed and asked him to do that. Sadly we discovered he had no ideas for other places where there was more shelter. We wandered through a basic market - fish and food, then decided that was enough and terminated the tour. On a fine day going to places like Ohuri Park would have been nice. Although his English was very good, the guide was not experienced, he was not from Fukuoka and this was only his 4th tour. When hiring a "local" guide we suggest you check out their actual knowledge of the city and its attractions. You pay a lot for these walking tours and at the end of our short time with him we felt sorry for him and tipped him although Viator had let us down with the guide allocated to us.

Short on time in Fukuoka? Eli is the best person to maximise your time in Fukuoka. She was insightful, friendly and patient. It was as if an old friend was showing us around Fukuoka. We would have not been able to see as much of this city without this tour!

We had a cruise port stop in Fukuoka and we hired Chris to show us around town for a few hours. He met us at the port and took us to
Five different destinations we wanted to see. He will customize base on timeline and your desired wish list. We even got to pop into a 7-Eleven very quickly so we could try one of their Eggie sandwiches. :)
Chris teaches English at the local university so it was nice to be able to communicate so clearly
We were done on time and he assisted us with the directions back to the ship, definitely better than a ship tour!

Mark was very nice and friendly, but because of the hot weather and time of day, we were limited to what we could visit. We were disappointed when he took us to a street market too early and it was not open yet. So, we spent most of our time in the underground stores/restaurants where it was cool. My advice, don’t come in the summer.

We had a three hour tour with family (children included) around Fukuoka. Our guide Luis was amazing - so knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Luis enriched our experience and helped us plan the rest of our trip, we definitely had a much better understanding of the city and what it had to offer because of his expertise. The trip was completely customisable and Eli (our guide) was amazing. She put together all the things that we wanted to do while explaining the Japanese culture and art forms. Bruce was an excellent tour guide, from the moment he got in contact with us prior to our trip! Bruce was very insightful and had a great itinerary! We had lunch at a fantastic place for lunch and gave a great suggestion for dinner ( and was yummy! ) he showed us the ins and outs of riding the subway and we took a Uber too! If we’re ever back in Fukuoka in the future we’ll be sure to have Bruce be our guide again!

Eli made the tour fun and personal giving multiple suggestions of her favorite places and showing us both the bright lights and hidden gems of Fukuoka. She made an in depth schedule and was able to change it on the fly depending on our interests. My wife and I laughed constantly throughout the tour with Eli which made the experience completely worth it. Felt like hanging with a friend.

We were pretty tired of shrines and temples so requested more of a city tour. Ai was very good at showing us her city and keeping it interesting. We had a lovely sushi lunch as well as enjoying a lot of underground Fukuoka since we had a rainy day. Good tour.

Having Mone tell me what the Japanese sweets were so I could make a more intelligent choice from the huge array of Japanese sweets. Given that I use a walker and that it was a rainy day, Mone was able to accomodate that in our planning. I didnt really want to go to Museums and galleries I was able to share lunch and chat for quite a while about Japan and hear from Mone about her life here. Not what most people want but it suited me very well indeed.

Our guide Mai was very accommodating. Not only did she come directly to our cruise port to meet us, she was very open to adjusting our itinerary due to unpleasant weather. We were able to see and do many of the things we wanted and still manage to stay relatively dry through a very wet day.

We had only a few hours in Fukuoka so arranged a private tour with Shino. What a great decision!! We met at the train station and went directly to the Reclining Buddha which was our priority. And it was impressive. Then we visited the Tocho-ji Temple with the amazing wooden Buddha, walked through Hakata old town and Canal City culminating in a delicious ramen lunch. Shino is the best guide, her English is wonderful and her knowledge of Fukuoka and Japan in general is impressive. Thank you Shino for a truly beautiful day.
