It was very cold evening even though it was July & there was a lot of standing about whilst you were given a lot of information about each haunting, although you were not able to go into the buildings in order to feel, see or sence the rooms affected by restless spirits.
The gent (Mark) who conducted the tour was very knowledgeable about each building & what has been reported to have caused spirit unrest in each. He had a good knowledge of the harbour & stories of past ship wrecks.
I would suggest that this tour could so much better if there was more visitor participation, may be a smaller group to actually to visit the inside one of the buildings in question. And giving feedback to the group or a ten minute optional discussion at the end of tour to share paranormal experiences.

Many thanks for your feed back it was a very cold evening especially for July with regards to the standing around I do try to minimise this as best I can but as you can appreciate there is plenty to say.
I note your comment about going into buildings and visitor participation. Unfortunately the buildings mentioned are all businesses i.e. Hotels, Pubs restaurants etc therefore especially at this time of the year they are not accessible. Having said that I am working on two new tours which will include a shortened ghost walk followed by a two course meal and a presentation/chat in one of the haunted locations this will also feature visitor interaction. The other is a ghost walk along the Old railway line followed by a mini paranormal investigation. Both tours are hopefully due for release September & October.
I also offer the chance to join us for a full evening/night paranormal investigation of some haunted locations in Ilfracombe.
Please if you do come back to Ilfracombe in the near future look me up and you are welcome to join me on the other tours which I am sure you will enjoy.

This was a fantastic and fascinating tour, the guide really brought the stories to life. It was a really good mix of history and the paranormal and has left me with a long list of things to Google.
It rained for a lot of the tour but that did not matter in the slightest, it did not dampen the guides enthusiasm or our fascination.

Mark provided a fascinating evening, not only about the ghostly hauntings of Ilfracombe, but also the fascinating history of the harbour area and local inns and hostelries. Would recommend spending some time to hear about the history of Ilfracombe.

Really interesting evening with a very knowledgeable host. Not just the ghostlier side of ilfracombe but also information on the local history of the area. Loved the use of the ipad to add to the experience with historical photos and sounds to set the scene. Easy walking pace and distances with plenty of stops to sit, see the sights and listen to our hosts tales. I will be keeping a look out for the characters mentioned each time I wander round the harbour area in future.

Excellent history of the area and interesting to hear of the various sightings. Very knowledgeable guide. Had a young child with us and perfectly suitable. Also suitable for those with impaired mobility. The only slight niggle would be that the initial part of the talk took a little long. Could be shortened without losing anything in our opinion.

The most memorable part of our ghost tour was the way in which the experience was described by the guide, Mark. One almost had the feeling that we were being watched and that the ghosts being described could be walking with us. I almost hate to say this but it felt like they had come to life. Indeed one of our party swore he had bee tapped on the head just as described by the guide. An excellent tour and thoroughly recommended.

Good local history of Ilfracombe
Similar theme of burning of young females & very little else.
Final story at quay side was best one but I’ve been on other ghost tours in different parts of Britain & this one wasn’t atmospheric and lacked lustre.
There was little narrative & drama & no feeling of ghostly goings on… the host kept mentioning his paranormal investigative work that seemed to take présidence over the evening. It alienated us as we weren’t able to enter the “haunted” buildings.

Hi Michelle
Thank you for your review I always like to read them positive or negative and I thought I would reply to the points that you have raised about the tour.
1. Too Long: my tours are planned to run for about 1.5hrs however I did mention at the start that they can go slightly longer and explained a variety of reasons why.
2. The tour has 8 stops only 3 include burning the rest of which and there are many tell other facts and some locations have multiple hauntings all very different.
3. Not atmospheric and lack lustre I am sorry you felt this way and I apologise but I feel you are in the minority with this one as 98% of the past reviews mention otherwise. What was not mentioned on this review was that you are also taken back in time with old photos of how the area looked at the time and I also provide images of some of the people I talk about. I also do a lot of research into the locations and add the history with the hauntings.
4. Paranormal Investigation Yes I do mention this and as a result I am able to add more evidence to the walk from my own experiences. I also show footage of some evidence I have from some of the locations. I do not feel that I mention my paranormal experiences that much if I do I again apologise however everyone who has attended my tours have enjoyed my experiences especially as they can see visual references. and if they want to know or see more then I direct them to my Facebook page where all the evidence we capture can be viewed. I feel this does add to the tour as you can see things that are unexplained. I have not yet seen anything like this on other ghost walks?
5. I am a bit puzzled by the comment unable to enter haunted buildings I may be wrong but I do not think that there are many Ghost Tours that offer this especially street walking tours. On my tours you do get up close to the buildings and are welcome to visit them before or after the tour. I also mentions that if you were interested in investigating any of the buildings I do offer the chance to come and join me of an evening of private investigating. something you can book. The locations on my tour are either businesses or private dwellings it would be very difficult taking a group of 15 people into some of these.

We really enjoyed the ghost tour. Mark brought the past to life with many creepy tales from days gone by. The George and Dragon is a very old pub with lots of charm, and has many spooky stories which added to our enjoyment when we ate a good sized meal. Ilfracombe is the ideal location for some good ghost stories. Mark's perfect deliverance and atmospheric weather all added to the eerie experience.

The tour was well organised with a pleasant and engaging guide.
For me, as a sceptic, the local history was the most interesting feature along details around the 'events' mentioned.
However, incorrect information, some basic; referring to 1361 as the 13th century when it's the 14th. This was repeated with other dates, so when it was stated the something occurred during 18th century, I didn't know whether this was the 1700's or the 1800's.
Another comment that burning cotton clothes melted - they don't, as far as I'm aware, and the Internet appears to agree - made me doubt other information given and at the end of the tour I was more sceptical than at the start.
Nevertheless. it was a reasonably enjoyable couple of hours.

Mark was an enthusiastic and engaging host, for our 90 minute ghost walk around Ilfracombe. The tour started at the George and Dragon Pub, where the stories were brought to life at the oldest pub in Ilfracombe. Other stops on the tour included the Britannia Hotel and harbour area. Very knowledgeable and plenty of stories to tell!

Hearing about the fire above the bar in the first pub.
Literally 10 minutes after my wife and 2 grandchildren had enjoyed a pre tour drink and my granddaughter asking us as we were in there if people died in a fire she’s almost 7 .
