Our tour through Epirus...

Our tour through Epirus was absolutely unforgettable! The day started with the Necromanteion, the ancient Oracle of the Dead. The history here was fascinating—our guide, George brought the myths and rituals of the ancient Greeks to life, and wandering through the underground chambers was an experience I’ll never forget. Next, we visited Acheron River Springs, where crystal-clear waters and stunning scenery made it feel like stepping into a fairytale. Walking along the river, with its turquoise currents and lush green surroundings, was both refreshing and awe-inspiring. We ended the day with dinner in Souli village, and it was the perfect finale. The hospitality was warm and genuine, and the meal was authentic, flavorful, and one of the best we had in Greece. Eating local dishes while overlooking the mountains was simply magical. From start to finish, the tour was well-organized, educational, and full of beautiful moments. If you’re visiting this part of Greece, don’t miss this incredible experience! George and Epirus were amazing!

Georgios is truly a phenomenal guide! I’ve wanted to go to the places in this tour for my entire life, and Georgios is enthusiastic, accommodating, and knows such extensive history that he contributes to this tour. We went on a lot of tours in this region, and I’ve been on a lot of tours in my life, but Georgios and the underworld tour was the best ever and I will remember this for a long long time. Next time we visit we will definitely be sending a message to Georgios to see if there are other tours we can join him on! Also, my partner and I did get engaged on this tour, which was perfect for a couple of grown up goths like us. Not only did Georgios facilitate the perfect space for us for this life step, but he was so genuinely enthusiastic for us and celebratory with us. Thank you again, Georgios, we hope to see you again! And if you’re thinking of taking this tour DO IT!! You will not regret it!

Exposure, views and time with a local in Epirus region

This experience provided another perspective of Greek mythology and history. It ended with an authentic Greek meal at a local taverna. Georgios at Epirus Adventures is passionate about Greece and it shows. If you’re looking for a deep historical/archeologic experience this isn’t for you, but if you’re visiting Parga or surrounding area at the tail end of your trip (as we were) and you’re satisfied with what you learned on prior stops, then this gives you exposure, views and time with a local who is authentically interested in sharing Greece with his guests..

Georgios was an incredible guide on this amazing excursion. We were very excited to experience the wonders of the Acheron River and necromanteion. However, we found the best experience for us was getting to see how beautiful the landscape of this area is, the trip to Souli and the local cuisine was outstanding! We could not ask for a better guide to the more authentic side of Greece! We would recommend this day to anyone in the area.
