Our guide was fantastic! Basilio (Bill) went out of his way to accommodate us. He was so informative and gave us a feel for the culture. We are very grateful to have him as our guide. We loved stopping at Dolce restaurant at Lakones. The orange pie with kumquat ice cream deserved the chef's kiss!

Corfu is a beautiful city and our guide Marcos was excellent. He took us to multiple stops and allowed time for our family to enjoy each location. We came in with no plan and he customized the tour tomorrow experience the best.

We had a wonderful experience on Corfu in part due to the excellent tour operator (and driver), Andreas. He was not only very knowledgeable and easy to speak with, but he allowed us to "customize" or time on the island. We visited a number of small villages above the cliffs overlooking the beaches, but also an olive grove museum, a kumquat distillery, and time to explore the old city. We highly recommend Andreas for a visit to Corfu.

Informative Half Day Tour With Comfortable Transportation

Thank you, Katarina for an incredible afternoon. We first stopped in Lakanes, where we had a beautiful view of the sea. We at traditional donuts and had ginger beer. We continued on our island excursion, stopping at a few additional spots until we ended in the main town of Corfu. Katarina took us to a shop where we tasted local speciailities such as kumquats and almonds. I would recommend this tour to anyone!

Wonderful tour

This tour was one of our favorites on our trip. We were on a Greek island cruise for 11 days. Corfu is beautiful. We did a 6 hour tour and did not feel rushed but moved along quickly enough so that we were never board. Our driver was full of knowledge about the island and spoke English fluently.

We had a great time. Our guide could have been better with making suggestions on what sites to see. We had a private tour with 13 in our group. I would recommend knowing exactly what you want to see and they will accommodate you. It was beautiful!

Nice tour of Corfu

Our guide was very knowledgeable and personable. We didn't feel that a guide was necessarily worth having for what we did. A driver would have been fine to do the same activities and saved us money. The amount of time was plenty and we did enjoy our guide.

Don't go at Easter

Maria, our guide, was very good. Unfortunately she couldn't overcome the calendar which put us in Corfu on the eve of Orthodox Easter. Crowds were insane, couldn't get into a restaurant. Maria did her best & we had a pleasant morning with some scenery, but overall too crowded. Plus, compared to Kefalonia, Santorini, & Crete, Corfu seemed run down & a bit seedy.

The guys were nice enough but felt like main purpose was to shop at certain places. olive farm stop very commercial again to buy. Then dropped off to shop for 2 hrs. Not worth it unless you wNt to shop instead of seeing more of corfu.

There were four of us on the tour. The tour guide and driver were friendly and courteous. The tour guide and driver completely accommodated the needs of the four of us. The information provided during the tour was extensive and interesting. The tour was much more involved than any large bus tour.

Our driver, Markos, was pleasant and professional and the guide, Maria, was knowledgeable and friendly. The tour was truly customizable! Upon meeting, Maria asked about our interests and made suggestions. We went to a popular monastery and Markos got us very close in the car. It was interesting and informative! On the way back to Corfu Old Town, we stopped at a cafe frequented by locals and it was delightful. I highly recommend this tour if you really want the flavor of Corfu with a professional guide!

Fabulous Day on Corfu Island with Sophia

Sophia was our guide and we had a beautiful van to take us all around Corfu. Our Cruise offered two tours, both at the same time. We highlighted the parts of both tours that we were interested in and Sophia had our driver take us to everything we wanted to see. She was very knowlegable about Corfu and had a delighful personality. There were 3 couples traveling and it is so much nicer than taking a large tour on a bus. She took us to a great place to have lunch and also made sure we had a little time left to shop in the old town. She met us right at the Cruise Terminal with a nice sign. Everything about the day was perfect! Including the weather and the blue caves we saw!

We booked a private tour of Corfu for a group of 12 friends and family. Despite our time in port (from our cruise) being short, our tour guide Anna and our driver Bill delivered a wonderful experience. Anna's background as a historian makes her perfectly suited to this role. She's knowledgeable, patient and kind. They took us to Paleokastritsa Beach for a swim first, which was excellent timing as the beach wasn't yet busy for the day. It's beautiful and the water was gorgeous. We then went for a tour of Mon Repos, followed by a walking tour of Corfu. Everything was perfectly planned and timed, and we made it back to our ship as per the requested time. Thanks so much to Anna and Bill for a great day.

Fantastic Tour of Corfu

We had an amazing time in Corfu thanks to our excellent guide and driver. We are a family of four and we prefer historical tours to beaches. Our guide asked us a few questions and within minutes, she had a plan for our four hours. We made a full circle around Corfu enjoying breathtaking views along the way. Best of all, we managed to beat the crowds. Our guide was full of details and we enjoyed every minute.

Worse Private Tour…

Booked a private 4 hour half day tour with guide and driver for over $600 starting at 9am to maximize the time we had in port. We, a family of 4, were on a cruise ship so our time was limited as all aboard was 1:30 so we needed to be back by 1pm. When we arrived guide and driver were not there. Starting calling tour company at 9am to find out where they were. The guide and driver did not arrive until 9:30am. We had to ask to go into old town which as a UNESCO site is something we wanted to see. Glad we did since I think we would have missed it if we did not ask. We spent about 1.5 hours there. Tour was mediocre but we at least got to see. Next we were picked up and driven 45 min away. When we loaded into van we were not told we were going on a 45 min ride. If so, we would have questioned it as we knew our time was limited. Not sure what the purpose was since we were only able to to spend 15 min walking around a monastery before having to get back in the van to go back to cruise ship. At one point the guide said we stop to take a picture at another spot, but driver said no since there was no where to park. We were told to take picture outside of window. There apparently was supposed to be a boat ride option which was not possible since we did not have any time. After walking around for 15 minutes we were loaded back on van for another 45 min ride back to cruise terminal which we arrived at just shy of 1pm. The 4 hour tour that I paid for lasted just shy of 3.5 hours and was a big disappointment. There was clearly not enough time to take us to the other side of the island. There are other options around old town including seeing the forts or museums which would have been much better options. The guide did not explain that we were going on essentially a ride and that there would be no time to do anything. They also completely disregarded that they were 30 min late picking us up. We are a family of 4 that have been taking private tours in Italy and Croatia over the past week that I had booked with other companies, not through Viator. All other tours have been excellent. This has been the biggest disappointment. Additionally, Viator does not stand behind the tours they booked. When I reached to out to inform them that I did not get the 4 hour tour that I paid, they responded within a few minutes that they investigated the situation and I would not be receiving even a partial refund. I am not sure how they investigated, as they never spoke with me. I have my phone records showing that I started calling provider at 9am to find out where the guide was. Also have time stamped photo to show when we were returned to port. Nor did they ever contact me for further details of my experience. I have booked through Viator before but will not be using them again as they do not stand behind their bookings. I paid for a 4 hour tour and only received a tour shy of 3.5 hours due to their tardiness not ours. At minimum should be refunded for the half hour I paid for and did not get. My experience with Tours by Locals and other tour companies that I have used this past week has been much better as all of the other guides we have had have been on time and excellent. I would not recommend this tour. If you are at a port with limited time take a taxi to old town. You will save money and have a better experience.

Hi. My name is Markos and I am the one you spoke that day. First of all im really happy you described all the options we have in our tour letting people know that all the options are real to choose from. Second and most important you said your self that the tour was very limited. We are not responsible for the change the ship made in the times. Third there was a 20 minute delay and not 30 due to traffic and 6 huge cruise ships docked the same time. We are responsible for that and of course we are truly sorry but it was beyond our reach. All of the tours and all the tour guides recommends Corfu old town which is unique and of course protected by UNESCO the reviews prove that. We also recommend visiting a beach the closest one is Paleokastritsa which is the most beautiful and well known on the island. Paying for a tour and just go to Corfu town is not appropriate. We want the guests to have a better view, opinion and experience on the island. Photo stops are limitless since there are several spots on the island. Once again if it wasn’t possible at some point to stop the minibus (it wasn’t a van) we are sorry for the traffic. Viator is one of the biggest tour providers if not the the biggest and we are happy to have one of the best tours. We operate since 2016 and there was no 1 star review since then. We appreciate your review and the time you spend writing in details all the above hoping for a refund for these 20 minutes. When I asked at the phone before the start you didn’t said anything about refund which of course would have been accepted since we didn’t provide the service. Same day and time there is a 5 star review just above. Of course we will inform Viator on our behalf on what happened. If by any chance you come back again in Corfu I’ll be happy to provide a better service and prove that all of these was a stressed day because the ship changed the times. You have my contact.
