Excellent activity, disappointing service and guide

The “knowledgeable English speaking guide” picked us up and did not speak a word to us for 3 hour journey from Colombo to Sigiriya. He then told us to pay a guide for the trip round Sigiriya, which we refused as it was an all inclusive tour. I had to phone his boss to get this paid. We went for lunch, via somewhere he tried to sell us “add on tours” at additional cost which we declined. He then took us to Dambulla cave temples which he knew absolutely nothing about. We knew more about them by reading a brief guide before booking the tours. The experience of Sigiriya and Dambulla were excellent and would highly recommend a visit, but this is the worst Viator booked guide we have had anywhere in the world and we would have been better off with a friendly taxi driver.
