The whale clearly felt like in captivity. They were swimming and chasing after the pieces of food/fish that a guy was throwing in the water and I felt guilty supporting this after I did it. It felt inhumane.

We would like to clarify that whale shark interactions in this area are strictly managed and regulated by the government, and all activities are conducted with approval and under the supervision of the proper authorities. This is why a mandatory briefing is conducted before the whale watching activity—to clearly explain how the program operates, the rules set by the authorities, and what guests can expect during the encounter.
Local regulations are in place to protect both the whale sharks and the guests, including limits on interaction, boat distance, and time in the water. While feeding is part of the government-managed system to ensure controlled encounters and safety, we understand that this experience can feel uncomfortable for some guests. Your perspective is valid, and we appreciate you voicing it.

Truly, a once in a lifetime remarkable experience swimming with the whale sharks, but what made it all that much better was my fantastic driver, Arnold and my private tour guide Robbie. Arnold is an excellent driver who got me there safely and promptly and early so that I could get a great spot on one of the boats, Robbie was right there to help me; she is 90 pounds of efficiency, kindness, sweetness, attentiveness, and all-around good spirit . As one who does not speak the language, they were right there to help me get to and from the boats, lunch and breakfast , and side trip to the offshore island Paradise.

This is a must do in Cebu. The ease of this trip was key as there are many things that need to be coordinated. The driver was timely and the drive comfortable which is important for a 3hr drive. The excursion guide was friendly and walked us through each step and also adjusted our itinerary to accommodate with wait times. Beautiful and such a great life experience!

Our driver Ryan and tour guide Paula were both amazing and really took care of us. Our boat guides were great and Ray who was one of the boat men helped us with taking pictures and videos while we were under water swimming with the whale sharks. The Sumilon island was beautiful and a nice way to just relax and decompress from all the excitement of the tour. BRR (Bangcogon Resort & Spa) had scratch made foods and were simple but delicious authentic filipino food that satisfied me and my husband's belly, and the staff were very courteous and nice. We will definitely do this tour again in the future.

I honestly can’t recommend this day trip enough! Jack and Mary-Lita were such a pleasure to spend the day with; everything was organised, coordinated and well communicated to us. The breakfast and lunch served were delicious and we all were exhausted by the end of the day! Thank you again for such wonderful memories, we hope to be back in the Philippines again to enjoy it some more :)
