Itinerary

Your tour begins with hotel pickup in Cebu City or Mactan for your guided journey through Cebu's past related to Ferdinand Magellan and the Spanish colonization of the city.

Magellan's Cross, one of Cebu's most famous landmarks, is your first stop, followed by Basilica Minore del Santo Niño de Cebu, home to an image of Jesus as a child, a gift from Magellan to Queen Juana, the wife of the rajah, when she was baptized as a Christian. Then head to Fort San Pedro, dating back to 1565; built to protect the city, it was the center of the first Spanish settlement in Asia.

Next up, drive along Colon Street, considered to be the first street in the Philippines, on your way to Plaza Parian, making stops at Casa Gorordo Museum and Museo Sugbu. After this, you'll cross over to Mactan Island, making your first stop here at the Virgen dela Regla National Shrine, followed by a visit to a guitar factory to see how these local instruments are made. Continue to the Lapu Lapu Statue, a shrine built on the site of the battle between the chieftain of Mactan and Magellan, who was defeated and died.
