MT was an awesome guide. He showed us the "local experience' and took us to see areas related to apartheid. We were very interest in local art and he introduced us to several local art galleries. The trip was more than we could have imagined.

It was evident that he has created so much rapport and respect with locals who welcomed us into their community and home. This tour was the most authentic tour ever. The guys were extremely knowledgeable and hospitable. I felt totally safe in their care. You will not regret this tour if you are a truth seeker.

Sign up for this tour!!! It is fantastic! We actually visited homes in the Township and heard the stories of people there. We went to lunch in a restaurant where local people go - we saw no other tourists!! It turned out that no one else signed up for our time slot, so we (two over-80 year olds from LA, CA, USA) had a private tour with two seriously informative, yet happily engaging men. MT and Sibu were instrumental in starting this organization, African Authentic Experience, which gives tours, and also works with individuals in the Townships, advancing the quality of their lives. MT and Sibu gave us an on-the-ground history lesson and a museum tour that gave us a background for then going to the Township. No telling can adequately convey the experience of walking through the community and visiting with the people. We will always remember this experience - it is probably the most meaningful of all we had during our month in South Africa and Zimbabwe. We enthusiastically recommend this tour with gratitude for having taken it.

This tour was hands down the best tour we did whilst in Cape Town. It was educational, humbling, inspiring and really interesting. Our guide MT was so knowledgeable and you could tell the tour itinerary been well thought out. We got to meet so many amazing people throughout the day, learn of the projects and initiatives that are on going, and see the community spirit of the Townships, first hand. We all know a little of the Apartheid era, but on this tour we learned so much more. I'd recommend this tour to anyone.

Where should I begin?! Our experience was far beyond amazing- it all starts with Theo, who picked us up from our hotel and right from the start he brought in positive friendly vibes. We learned so much about South Africa’s history and the local people. We visited different townships, experienced local culture, food and visited different family homes. People were warm, friendly, inviting and hospitable. We stopped along the way to try different foods and also had a beautiful delicious sit down lunch together. We experienced and learned new things that will forever be apart of us. This experience was truly a blessing to be apart of. We enjoyed every second of the day and theo’s company. Highly recommend this tour. If it’s only one thing you do in Cape Town this should be it— or at least Theo should be the guy you spend the day with. Amazing amazing amazing!!!

Absolutely one of the most dynamic, awe inspiring and incredible experiences I have ever encountered. Rich, Thorough, and the exhibition of social impact would be my three item summary. Very well organized and truly worth every dime of the cost. One would be insane to come to Capetown and not purchase this tour
