Chris was a spectacular guide. He is very passionate about Cali And Salsa. He keeps the tour moving, gets everyone involved in activities and dance steps, plays informative examples of music styles and tells great stories. He also showed us the work of several local artists and explained the back stories. The walls come alive once you understand the back story. He also gave us a few opportunities to sample local food and drink.
Juliana was amazing on our tour today, we learnt so much about salsa and really enjoyed walking around Cali as well. Definitely recommend this experience if you’re in town here!

This tour with Christian and Beyond Colombia is the best walking tour ever. I’ve never been on a tour where you leant dance steps in addition to the best spots in town to visit. I wouldn’t know half of what I know about Cali without having done this tour. Truly a special experience with an incredible guide.
We weren't really sure what to expect in Cali. It was the one city we visited with really no plan in mind. We opted for a street food tour because we love to eat. The tour wasn't simply eating, but we also learned about the city of Cali, salsa, and influential people of Cali and Colombia.
In terms of food, we stopped several places along the way, but spent the bulk of our time at an indoor market. The market was awesome and you can get just about everything you could want from there. As a pescatarian, I was a little worried that I wouldn't be able to eat a lot of the food. There was only one item I couldn't eat which was a pleasant surprise.
Our guide recommended a few places that we visited - a salsa club and a spot that hosts indigenous dancing on Thursdays.
Cristian was an incredible guide—warm, personable, and so much fun! He gave us a crash course in salsa history (plus some “salsa survival skills” 😆), and showed us Cali’s vibrant street art scene. What stood out most was his thoughtful explanation of how music, dance, and art serve as forms of unarmed resistance and empowerment for the community. The combination of rhythm, creativity, and social impact made this tour one of the highlights of our trip. A must-do in Cali!
