Had a really fun lesson with Kool Katz. Terry was an interesting character, I liked him just make sure you have a sense of humour and you’ll be fine haha. Surf tips were helpful, and got everyone in the group to stand up by the end of the session so it really does work. I’d have enjoyed more time in the water and maybe a few goes on my own without assistance from coaches but I understand their methods. Really good price for the class and it’s worth doing.

Super fun and helpful surf lesson! We never surfed before and our surf coach was so patient with us and explained and helped whenever possible. All around super day with lots of fun. Definitely recommend!

If you’re looking for a somewhat boring and uniform lesson where you spend an hour on the beach before you even touch the water, then this is not the lesson for you.
Terry has been teaching for 35 years and knew the best time and location (watch your emails for the timing and be aware the drive was 30 mins for us - I wouldn’t book any other activities on the same day) for us as a group of beginners to get the most out of the lesson and the waves.
When you arrive at the meet location you may think you are in the wrong place but trust the process. Terry is eager for everyone to enjoy themselves and catch a few waves (which we all managed) and he does so in a jovial, Aussie manner whilst keeping us safe. Speaking of, don’t be idle in helping out getting the surf boards on and off; he’s 69 so save his back!
You also really can’t argue with the price which is far cheaper than competitors in Byron so if you’re just looking for a light-hearted day out with the goal of standing on your board for some waves then this is the lesson organiser for you. Come with an open-mind and a sense of humour and you’ll be grand.

So much fun!! As a total beginner, Tez was able to get me to stand up multiple times on my own in just a few hours! Would recommend this to anyone who wants an authentic aussie surfing experience!

Amazing experience! My first time surfing and I caught so many waves. The instruction was easy to understand and made it surprisingly easy for me to catch the waves even though I was scared. They start out pushing you onto the waves and by the end, you are catching your own waves! I did not want the day to end!!! This was my favorite part of my Australia trip. Also, the beach they bring you to is beautiful and not busy with people, it’s perfect for beginners

We had an amazing time! They bring you with a little bus to the good surfing spot of the day. They explain how you can surf safely without getting injured and what to do if you fall off the board. The groups are not too big and we all were standing on the board in the first lesson. We had such a good time that we booked a second lesson for the next day. And the teachers and the owner are really nice. Absolute recommendation :)

The instructor is called “the legends” because they know all the best surf spots and exactly where to go for the best waves. Their local knowledge and experience make them the perfect guide to lead surfers to the most ideal locations.

Fun experience and great value surf lesson for beginners. The weather was really bad for us but our instructor Terry was determined to get the most out of the day & get us all surfing. He found a calmer spot on the beach for us and we all managed to stand up despite the harsh conditions. We had a great time and a good laugh with Terry, thank you!

Surfed for the first time in my life. Whay a great experience it was. Very well explained safety and techniques what you need to do and how to rids the waves. Had a great time, the weather was marvelous and even the water considering it was July and Australian winter. Can only recommend!

We had a really good time with Terry and he was a good surf-instructor! Would definitely recommend it🌞 All of us managed to catch waves. The surf conditions weren’t too good, but Terry took us to a place where it was smaller and better waves for beginners. This was a perfect surf-lesson for us🙌🏼
