I love that we stopped to see the beautiful church in San Isidro and the River plate soccer stadium. The cherry on top was the boat tour along the Tigre Delta. The guides were very informative.

We ended up on a city sight seeing tour rather than this one. My name was on the guide's list so I didn't question whether it was the right tour until the first stop. Very disappointing

Very knowledgeable tour guide and interesting areas explored. Did not expect such a large boat with many customers. We were unable to hear and understand the entire English explanation of the areas due to the noise level. Also, there was only one working bano on the boat.

It was ok

We booked English tour guide and ended up with a guide that had to speak 3 languages and she seemed to cater more to Spanish and whatever the other language was. May have been only 4 or so English. The boat was a speed boat comfortable seats but you could not see anything and could not hear what was being said on the loud speaker. Bus was dirty Driver never stopped talking. He must of been on his phone with ear piece in and that is all ya heard one guy talking.

Martina was great - so communicative before the tour with confirming times and when she arrived at the hotel for pick up. This was very appreciated since it doesn’t ways happen for tours. The trip was a nice change from downtown BA activities. Very thankful to be able to have drop off by the Sunday open market to experience that and save the cab from the hotel

Avoid if possible

I booked this tour a few days before and selected my pick up. I was supposed to be collected at 9am. At 8.20 I received a message saying that they weren't going to collect me, and that my only option was a collection point an hour away, with 1 hour and 20 minutes notice. I was told to order a taxi (which of course I would pay for...) but there were no taxis because it was rush hour! I had to do a combination of running across town and finding a bus with no notice. I told them I might be a couple of minutes late. I arrived 3 mins late but was being chased. I then was told my collection point was never going to be an option. I wish I could attach screenshot because the communication was incredibly poor. (Others below have commented on having a similar experience) The tour itself was ok-ish. The guide obviously didn't want to be there. We only had 45 minutes at the Puerto de Fructos which was not enough time to eat, but also too long for just walking round. We weren't finished until nearly 3pm and the organisation was poor. We were then told there was a free wine house we could go to. It wasn't made clear that the tour was finishing here and the guide and the bus were disappearing. Some people left their bags on the bus. We were messaging both the agency and the tour guide and got very delayed replies. The agency told one person they couldn't help and the guide said the bus driver wouldnt be returning with their bags because the stuff in the bag wasn't important enough. Overall the boat was good, but not because of the tour guide, this is done independently. In reality I'd like some compensation for my experience, but in terms of a review, I would avoid this company if possible.

Misadventures in El Tigre

1. The tour was supposed to start at 9a. They did not arrive until 10a. So the tour was only 4 hours instead of 5. 2. When we got on the bus, the driver immediately started driving despite us not being seated yet. This is especially dangerous given my wife is pregnant. 3. They completely misrepresented the boat ride. The pictures included a quaint wooden boat. When we arrived, it was a large, indoor ferry-like boat. Your guide won’t explain anything, you just listen to an old recording explaining the Tigre community. 4. We were told it was an English tour. When the tour guide spoke, which was very minimal, it was in three different languages. 5. We were told we’d have an hour at the craft market. But we were given 45 minutes and rushed back on to the bus. In fact, when we arrived back (a minute before we were told to be back), the tour guide scolded us. It was truly awful and not what was advertised at all. Frankly, Viator should do a review to see if this falls under false advertising

Great guide and weather was beautiful for a boat ride

Excellent way to see other side of tracks. Tigre and communities show the great contrast between city and river traders. It was the off season and a week day so wasn't a bustling area but was a nice change of pace with alot of history.

Recommended day on the water.

Beware of the time noted on the ticket. Our ticket showed 09:00, but we were not collected from our collection point until 10:05. I did ask for the collection time to be confirmed, and the response was 09:30 to 09:50. The van was clean, comfortable, and air-conditioned. The tour leader, Georgina, had good linguistic skills and communicated well. The river cruise was excellent, and the tour of the old fruit market was terrific, even though it was short. We highly recommend this tour.

Although the tour was largely enjoyable. It is mis-sold as being five hours. Pick-up at 9.00am return at around 1.30pm. However due to other pick-ups we didn’t leave Buenos Aires until around 10.15am.

Poor Communication Led to Stress & Expense

This company fail to inform you where to meet in time (other reviewers have noted this). Booked the trip 3 days in advance & Viator confirmation sent me to a pick up point in Buenos Aires for 9am. I arrived at 8.30 & waited until 9.30. The tour bus never arrived. When I returned to my air bnb apartment there were messages (sent after 8.30am) telling me to meet somewhere completely different. My roaming data had expired so I did not pick them up until I had WiFi again…BUT! that’s not the point. Any serious travel company cannot give customers such short notice about where to meet (it was too late for me to get to the new location anyway). I had to spend almost $50 (price of the tour again) getting a taxi out of town to Tigre to catch the boat. That was thanks to the initiative of the excellent driver (Mike) and the guide. The company didn’t care at all and I got a rude message from someone called Fabien saying “we WhatsApped you thousands of times” (nonsense) and no apology for their terrible communication that resulted in a stressful mess. I shall be seeking a refund from Viator who should look into this company’s practices.

Boat Tour to Tigres

There was a lot of confusion about the pickup. We chose a hotel close to our AirBnb and were told pickup would be 9:00 a.m. At 8:20 a.m. we received a message from the travel company asking us to be "downstairs" in 5 minutes. We explained that we would leave right away, but that it would take 15 minutes to get there. The tour operator was quite . . . aggressive and wanted to know why we couldn't be there in 5 minutes. When we tried to explain our understanding of the pickup time, he suggested he knew nothing about it. When we tried to explain what Viator told us, he suggested it was our fault. We were ultimately picked up more or less as scheduled. From there, everything went well. We made some last minute changes which our tour guide was very happy to help with and accommodate. The boat tour from Buenos Aires, which was one of the changes we made, was probably the highlight of the tour.

The trip is good - you see the small houses in Tigre and get a bit of time to see the market. There could have been more information along the way and the car/minivan was extremely dirty (trash and dirt all over) and not air conditioned.

Tigres River Ride was excellent!

Guide on all tours we took in Buenos Aires was over an hour later than scheduled but communication was excellent. We really enjoyed the tour overall. The fruit market stop was a little too long for us but it was a nice place to have a drink and snack. Guide spoke English and got us back within a block of our hotel. Van was air conditioned and comfortable.

Ok tour with perplexing schedule

The overall trip was fine. We enjoyed the sites and the boat ride. The guide was very pleasant but didn’t share any history/facts/stories about any of the stops. She let us know timing on when the bus would leave, where bathrooms were, what the next stop was but nothing about the actual sites. Also, the Viator tour overview said the tour ended at the meeting point from the morning (hotel pickup) and the itinerary mentioned leaving us at the Obelisk. It was strange to have two different points listed but that’s not even where we ended up. We were dropped off in a part of Palermo that was a few miles from where we were picked up and we never made it to last two items listed on the calendar. It was very confusing—we were not the only ones who thought so. Also, pick up on the Viator itinerary was supposed to be between 9-9:30 but we had a private email that it was between 8:10-8:30 am so we just got ready early.

Ignacio did a great job of guiding us in English, Spanish and Portuguese! It was a bit disjointed as I had booked 9am and received a confirmation. But when I sent a WhatsApp at 9:10 confirming that someone was coming, I was told that they'd sent me a message on Viator which unfortunately I could not pick up without wifi. They rebooked me to 11am (had also offered following day) with no explanation why it was changed. The pickup ended up being just after 11:30 at 1253 Recoleta Small Hotel which looked lovely (I did not stay there). It wasn't completely clear the order we were doing things - but adapted to the first stop at Casa del 10 in La Boca near the stadium for a sandwich (choripanes), plus quick tastings of cookies (alfajores), dulce de leche, and three wines, and encouraged to purchase. Ignacio provided just the right level of information about areas we passed through. We did not get the 15 minutes at the stadium, but for me that was unnecessary. From there we went on our hour long boat cruise when we arrived in Tigre which had its own multi-language recorded guide, and then had an hour to ourselves in the Porto de Frutas markets (lots of larger home goods and souvenirs). Then they dropped us at the Obelisk downtown BA.

The programme of the event was good but the I had much difficulties in understanding what the guide were talking about. As most of the times the guide was talking in the local language/dialect, despite I had informed her that the package I had booked was for English speaking guide. E.g. when arrived at the place of interest, the guide did not informed me or.and what to return to the bus, the guide did not tell me either.

No show tour operator

Tour guide or operator never showed up, wasting 2 hours waiting in the hotel lobby. Hotel personnel’s were trying to help by calling the tour company phone number provided by Viator rep, but no one answered the phone.

Another tourist trap. Don't waste your time unless you have nothing to do.

We were picked up too early. When we arrived the pier, most shops are still closed and we have to wait 2 hours before boarding the ship. A waste of our precious time. This should not be a morning tour. Delta Tigre itself has not too much to see. Overpriced.
