The dance performance was the best
The dance lesson was almost non existent
The special meal we had ordered and confirmed was good when we got it but it required half an hour’s negotiation.
Wine was not good.
Response from Host, Dec 2024
I am very sorry John you had not a nice experience. Regarding the problem with your fish choice. I've only informed your special request about no meat, neither seafood but fish, and this is just what I've required, not a specific type of fish. When they've contacted me about your special request, I gave my OK to comply with it. I will forward the Piazzola people your comments regarding the wine quality, so we can offer better alternatives in the future. Regarding tango lessons, sometimes as it is a mix of welcome buffer and not all the people participates or is equally interested, it is difficult to make everybody happy. I will ask them to put an eye in this activity, so the people really interested is satisfied. If you want to come back to had a new opportunity, please let me know when are you available and I will ask them to receive you for a new chance.

The tango dancing, singers and band were fabulous! Very organized pick up & drop off. The lessons were fun with such a large group, very basic but we all had fun! Downer part: food was not great, ok at best.
Response from Host, Mar 2024
Karen, I am sorry food was not the best. Can you give me more details so we know how to correct possible mistakes? Glad to hear that show and lessons were according your expectatives.

Amazing show! Beautiful dancers, talented singers and a fun Tango dance class.
Generous beverage offering. I would recommend the steak dinner. The veal was the only disappointment. It was not eatable and nothing else was offered for replacement.
Response from Host, Mar 2024
I am very sorry Judith, it is a pitty that you didn't send me a message in that moment, I would have intervened for replacement. I am glad that the show , classes and beverages were pleasing to you. We'll inform the theater about your disappointment so they take care next time. Thank you for helping us to improve every day

Lessons were super fun. Dinner was delicious, steak was amazing. Tango show was out of this world. Transportation to and from not great. Cranky driver, no English.
Response from Host, Nov 2023
I am very sorry the driver was not according the excellence of the rest of the services. Thank you for your comment, it will help us to improve and correct the weak points...

What a wonderful experience. A must do while in Argentina. The dinner menu offered a nice section of food. I ordered empanadas, steak and dessert with dulcet de leche and enjoyed it with a few glasses of Malvern. Took a dance lesson and really enjoyed interacting with the instructors and other guests.

This was outstanding! The traffic was rough, so the pick-up was right exactly on the dot for the last possible moment (don't worry if they're not early). The driver was a friendly guy who walked us all the way to the door. Once at the venue, we walked downstairs to a beautiful old-style theatre, with ornate boxes along the sides. The tango lesson was well-done with very interactive instructors, who turned out to be stars in the show itself. Everyone in my group ordered steak as the entree, though the appetizers and desserts were different. We all agreed that the food was stellar. The show told a wonderful story through dance, music, and singing. As it was so late, I wish it had been a little shorter, but the quality was stupendous. I would highly recommend this adventure!

During the first 45 minutes, two professional dancers provided dance lessons. The steps are simple enough so most newbies will be able to remember the steps. By the way, both professional dancers are excellent and exhibited their skills during the evening’s tango show. The dance lessons were followed by dinner, which is not memorable. The highlight of the evening is the tango show, with four pairs of dancers showing consummate skill and grace. Two singers — both great — also performed several Argentinian songs. Music for the dancers and singers were provided by an excellent band.Negatives: First, my wife and I were supposed to be picked up our hotel. We were staying in the San Telmo area, and didn’t know there is a flea market every Sunday that closes several streets, including the ones around our hotel. So 45 minutes before our scheduled pickup, the hotel front desk got a call from the driver of our pickup service asking that we walk to a meeting point several blocks away. Since we just arrived in Buenos Aires that afternoon and it is our first visit to Buenos Aires, we are unfamiliar with the area (and concerned with safety). We had a hard time finding the address provided by the driver (it’s hard to see street names and addresses in the dark, although Google maps certainly helped). Second, after the tango show, no transportation service back to the hotel was provided so my wife and I were out in an area that is unfamiliar to us. We tried getting Uber but that didn’t work, so we finally hailed a cab, again not knowing if that is safe or not. While we enjoyed the show, this review offers some caveats to those visiting Buenos Aires for the first time.

Excellent! Fun group lessons, great meal, and a spectacular show!
DrSusanRae_J, Feb 2017
The tango lesson actually was quite good and fun. The dinner and show were wonderful in a beautiful restored theater. Our only complaint was that it became uncomfortably hot during the show. Also, just as an awareness for other travelers there are a significant number of marble steps to negotiate

I truly enjoyed this experience. The Tango show was excellent, the food and wine were amazing, and the dance lesson prior to show was fun. I went with a group of friends so we didn't have any dance partners but there was staff there to walk us through the steps with a partner so we didn't feel left out.
MariaIsabel_C, Jun 2016
The lesson is not really a lesson, 10 minutos for 12 people.... The meal is poor, not worth while. But the show is very good and the theatre is amazing.

The best part of this activity was the show. Watching the professionals dance was amazing and something I've never experienced before. The food was great too. However, I was really hoping to dance more. The lesson went super quickly. So how much you enjoy it depends on your primary goal

The show was excellent, wonderful music and dancing.

This show was amazing. The tango dance lesson was fun. I learned some basic moves. However, it was short. The food was delicious as well. Finally, the show was entertaining. I would highly recommend this show.

This is truly a must when you visit Buenos Aires, picked up on time, Tango lesson was great, the show was fantastic and the dinner was perfect. What a night!!!

Went as solotraveller and had heaps of fun! Great lesson, food and show!

I was lone traveller- when I was on the the dance lesson, on hindsight I was thinking that I should have skipped that. But I was glad I didn't. The dance instructor, Alejandro was really hilarious and since it was a group dance, being on my own, I never felt as a wall flower at all.
After the lesson, we were given a certificate then escorted to the dining and show area. And since I was on my own, I was led upstairs for two-seater table. The ambience is good and where I was seated I had a full view of the show. The downside is that, since seated upstairs it took a while before being served with food. I saw people downstairs who came later than me finished their starter and having their main course whilst I still wait for a basket of bread. But the food is worth the wait...the dinner comes with a bottle of wine while complements the beautifully cooked (medium) Argentine beef steak... I love my steak but there were instances before that I have to send back the steak if not cooked as expected and I think this is one of the best steak I had. The table cutlery don't provide steak knife so you must ask for it persistently. Other than, I thoroughly enjoy my dinner. The show is spectacular! It has a story line of the development of tango in Argentina so it's not just a random dance show so it's informative as well.

Highly disappointed! First because the driver forgot to take us at the hotel. We have been waiting about 1h30 trying to reach the ONLY contact person mentioned on the voucher to find out where he was.
That same person couldn't reach the driver for X,Y reasons so we ended up paying an extra taxi ourselves to reach the place - luckily right on time (people were eating their desserts before the show got started).
The dinner was probably the WORST we've had in Buenos Aires. Very tourists oriented which means in other words, zero effort! One Menu for all and too bad if you don't like their selection. Thank God the beautiful Argentinian wine was there to comfort us. We really felt like it was just about getting our money in the easiest and quickest way.
The show was nice! You can feel the passion of Tango in each dancer and it is very pleasant to watch.
The dance lesson: A JOKE! Except for 2-3 lucky guys who got picked for a 2 second Tango spin, it was a lie. They do not teach you Tango at all. First because there is no proper space to do so, second because there was no time dedicated for 'teaching'.
Tamara S, Nov 2012
We are not dancers, but we survived. It was fun. We learned the moves and enjoyed the dinner plus show.
stacey h, Sep 2012
one word FABULOS! Got to learn the basics of tango and met people from all over the world. I had a ball
Megan J, Mar 2012
Had a great time doing this, teacher had a great sense of humour. Show afterwards was amazing, beautiful costumes and I enjoyed the plot line. The class was quite overcrowded though which made seeing the instructor and learning a little challenging. Dinner was quite nice.
Anthony L, Dec 2011
The dinner and the show was incredible. We got there too late for the tango lesson. But I'm sure it would have been great as well!
Chrissy B, Nov 2011
This is a must do while in Buenos Aires! The tango dance lessons added to the fun and helped make the night truly fantastic. The instructor had high energy and was able to get everyone moving. The show was excellent and the food was surprisingly good.
Martin K, Sep 2011
The tango lesson was fairly brief because of the crowd, but very enjoyable and worthwhile. My wife's dinner (pasta) was excellent; my steak was terrible (the last thing I expected in Argentina!). The tango show was quite good, but I would have preferred that the cast not dance so much with audience members. Overall, an excellent evening.
James S, Mar 2011
I was solo and had a great time! Learning the tango (or at least attempting) was fun!! The show was good too!! Would recommend doing this while in Argentina. Jim
Carlie B, May 2010
As expected, the class was crowded. Very touristy but a lot of fun.
Beryl H, Apr 2009
Great evening, learning the Tango was real fun even if your feet did not want to go the way you wanted them to!! The meal was good, and great value for money, the steak was big, and the wine was very drinkable. Can say was well worth the money for a good night out.
Beverly, Feb 2009
Fun evening. Good food. Great show. But too many people at the dance lesson--too crowded in a small room.
