Nous avions réservé le vol dans la vallée d'Itria. Les conditions de vol n'étant pas bonnes, on nous a proposé de faire le vol à Matera plutôt. C'était un peu plus contraignant car notre logement était à Martina Franca, donc nous avons dû nous lever très tôt pour être à Matera au lever du soleil.
D'après la description de l'expérience et certaines photos, nous nous attendions à survoler Matera et découvrir les sassi depuis les airs. En réalité, les conditions de vol n'étaient pas terribles ici non plus et nous ne sommes pas montés très haut, et nous avons uniquement survolé des champs.
L'expérience reste impressionnante avec le gonflage du ballon et le vol paisible qu'offre la montgolfière. Mais nous attendions mieux du paysage.
