We had a great tour with Selahattin in Boudrin. He met us at the cruise port and took us up to the Antique Theater. From there we were able to walk down through the town to the Boudrin Castle and Underwater Museum. He shared his vast knowledge of the area, making the tour both fun and interesting. The pacing was perfect and Selahattin even timed our visit to the various sites in order to avoid the large crowds. Thank you Selahattin!

Our tour of the castle with Selahattin was an absolutely wonderful experience, and we cannot recommend him highly enough! From the start, he was incredibly thoughtful, contacting us in advance to arrange the easiest possible meeting point. His knowledge of the castle's history was impressive, and he brought it to life for us. Most importantly, Selahattin was exceptionally mindful and considerate of my father's limited walking abilities, ensuring the pace was comfortable and the route was manageable. His kindness and expertise made our visit truly special.

Misleading wording:
The listing calls this a “private hike with a local.” In reality it was a simple city walk with little real substance. A hike is through nature, not through a city. The wording sets the wrong expectation.
Castle effectively assumed:
The listing says, the meeting point is in the museum, but in practice this meant Bodrum Castle and it was simply expected that I would pay 23 € extra for the ticket. When I declined, the guide was clearly surprised. So the Castle seems to be treated as default, although that’s not stated transparently beforehand.
Key info only after booking:
Only AFTER payment did I receive an email saying this is not a professional guide. That is crucial information and should be disclosed BEFORE booking!
Questionnaire with false promise:
Before the tour I answered a 8-question form. The operator thanks you politely and says a personalized itinerary will be created. In reality nothing is planned. The responsibility is shifted back to the guest, who is expected to decide what to do during the tour. It looks professional, but the promise is not fulfilled.
Organization & flow (Plan B):
After I declined the Castle, the guide did suggest a Plan B (Yalikavak). However, we then waited quite a while for a driver and drove roughly 25 km out to Yalikavak. If my answers had been used to plan ahead, an alternative should have been ready without this dead time.
Basic facts off:
Even simple questions were answered incorrectly (for example Bodrum’s population was stated as 500.000; it’s actually around 180.000).
Value for money:
60 € for 2 hours is not justified, if the guest carries the planning burden and there’s little substantive input. It feels like paying for someone to walk alongside you.
Bottom line:
Friendly companion, but my issue is with the operator: The listing is misleading. The promised personalized tour never materializes, and crucial information (no professional guide) comes only after booking. Professional appearance on the outside, no real content inside. Not worth the price.

A big disappointment. This tour had great reviews, with a few outliers mentioning a particular guide, unfortunately, that was the one we got! She barely offered any information or even answered questions. It was a total waste of time.

If you don’t get a guide with good reviews don’t take this tour. I read the reviews prior to taking this tour due to cancellation on our original tour, and it was obvious that if you get a woman guide it’s not going to be a good experience. I asked the company who will be the guide and tell them we are flexible to change the time just to get a good guide. They responded that the guide of our choice was not available but did not answer the question. I realized we are heading for a disaster and I was right. The young woman was not a bit interested to give us any information. She walked ahead of us occasionally asking if she was not too fast. Instead of walking through the town she took us along a busy highway, which was quite dangerous. When we reached the gate I asked her for information and she gave an obvious answer that it was a gate to the wall to protect the city and the rest I can read on the board there. On the way back we walked through the town but it was awkward to have her around as no information was given and she continued walking silently. I the middle of this excruciating experience I had to ask her to leave us, which she did. She should not be a guide or she needs a training. She probably a company’s owner protege and they cannot let her go.

This tour was absolutely perfect! Our tour Nuri really knew his stuff! He was prompt and designed everything around what it is we wanted to see. We walked through the streets of Bodrum and learned about different plants, the culture and the tour was fantastic. I would highly recommend this tour and I would totally, recommend Nuri! The Turkish lunch we had at the end was so good. We are still thinking about it!

The guide was a very nice lady and very friendly and accommodating. However she was not a true local (living there only 3 years) and she did not know her way around the city too well. She herself had to ask for directions to popular sights. It also seems to me that this was her first tour and she was taking more pictures of the sights than we were (as if she had never been there before). Also she was more interested in learning Spanish from us rather than to tell us about the local cuisine and customs of the area. Overall not worth the money as we could have easily done this tour by ourselves.

We had a lovely day with our guide Selahattin. We toured Bodrum Castle and learned a lot about Bodrum and its history. After our tour he gave us many suggestions on how to spend the rest of our day in Bodrum and walked us to a restaurant where he helped us order a delicious lunch. Definitely recommend this tour and our great guide!

Tour operator failed at the last minute. They couldn't find anyone of their guides or us even though I booked 6 months in advance. More likely I think is that they prioritized the longer tours.

Lokafy, the tour operator, provided details regarding meeting point and the guide's contact details prior to the date of the tour, I contacted the guide via email the evening before the tour date. The next morning I received no acknowledgement. Prior to departing the cruise ship I used Whats App to contact the guide again. Once in Bodrum I used Whats App to explain we were lost but had no reply. This may have been due to connectivity issues. I asked several locals directions to the meeting site and had at least 3 different responses, I gave up and missed the tour. When I returned to the ship , there were no emails or texts from the guide. Lokafy agreed to issue only a partial credit, but I never received any text or email from the guide. I do not recommend this tour.

For the first hour or so of my five-hour private tour of Bodrum, I was hanging on Selahattin's every word. He had so much knowledge about Bodrum, Turkey and the region, and he shared it with passion. Soon, though, Selahattin became more than a guide. It was as if I was visiting a long-time friend who delighted in showing his hometown.
Every step of the way, my new friend offered me choices and explained the options. He really wanted to make sure that he was providing the experience I wanted. And indeed he did.
Beyond the sights of interest, Selahattin also introduced me to one of his favorite lunch spots--one that locals frequented, not tourists. In the US, we might refer to the place as a dive--but in the positive and most authentic sense. The experience started at a counter, where 7 or 8 pans and pots simmered with the day's specials. One of the restaurant staff explained what each dish was. I selected some tasting portions of a few of them, which were taken to my seat. Delicious, authentic and filling. I liked it so much I returned the next day on my own.
Just like so much that he showed me, Selahattin is himself a treasure. I was delighted that I had such a charming and knowledgeable guide and also that I'd made a new friend.

I’d never heard of Lokafy tours before taking this walking tour and I’m so glad I booked! Our “guide” showing us the town from a local’s perspective for the afternoon was INCREDIBLE. Our guide, Oner, went above and beyond and not only did I learn so much about Bodrum, we found so many great places to eat, shop and saw views and places only a local would know about. We're experienced travelers and took this 3 hour tour to know more about Bodrum, the local area and the local culture before our next 6 days exploring this historical and wonderful region and country. We met Sal Tumer, our guide on our first day and our first local tour. We were immediately impressed, Sal is very engaging, he speaks perfect English, and his knowledge of not only the City but the whole of the region, the country, the people, the cultural and when asked the historical background of what we were seeing and about to see over the next week was so extensive and he had created such a positive impression, that we intend to return to Türkiye to see more.
What we learned from Sal that first day was not only the local history but also the warm nature of all the local people that we later engaged with during our vacation. We realized how fortunate we were to have met Sal at all and what a great representative he was of his country and people. We later wished that we would have had booked a longer tour to spend more time with Sal and to have learned more about this region.
Without hesitation we highly recommend this tour early in your visit, and if you’re lucky enough to have Sal as your guide, your experiences in Bodrum and all of Türkiye will be enriched and they will be as positive as ours have been.

Our guide Selahattin (Sal) was fantastic. He was friendly, knowledgeable and showed us just enough highlights for our short stopover on our cruise. He also took us to a reputable rug dealer at the end of our tour where we had a blast shopping for Turkish Rugs.

We had an amazing tour with Selahattin. We had reached out in advance to express interest in the Mausoleum in Bodrum, and he understood our exact interests! Incredibly knowledgeable he took su thought the old town, made a quick stop for some local ice-cream, and ended the tour at Bodrum Castle where we had a great surprise of an under-water archeological museum featuring an ancient boat that had been reconstructed. After the tour, Selahattin took us to a local caffe for a drink and where we ended up staying for a nice dinner. The best part of the tour wasn't only Selahattin's knowledge, but his friendly nature and good conversation. I hope to have the chance to visit Turkey again, and learn more from this incredibly passionate and knowledgeable guide!

My wife and I were looking for something a little less formal and more personal than a group tour, and this tour met our expectations plus some! Özge was super friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and even messaged us before hand so she can design our walk around topics we were interested in learning about. Honestly, the walk was more like meeting a new friend and enjoying each others company, while also learning new things. It was perfect!

We had an amazing day in Bodrum! Our guide for the afternoon was Selahattin. He reached out to us before our arrival to make sure our time included anything specific that we wanted to do. Once we arrived, he was friendly and welcoming! We had a great day with him seeing Bodrum with a local. He went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable, and also helped us communicate with the locals. He took us to a perfect blend of local and touristy places. Selahattin is an incredible tour guide, but an even better friend. He made us feel welcome and part of his beautiful city. We spent the early part of our morning driving through the city. He pointed out sites and shared bits of history and personal stories. We stopped by the ancient amphitheater and took some pictures, marveling at its construction. After that we stopped for a light breakfast and coffee where he told our fortunes. After that we made our way to the highlight of the tour, the Bodrum Castle. Selahattin was the perfect guide to the space. After the castle we made our way back towards town. Along the way he told us of a few spots we should go to after our tour concluded. All in all it was a beautiful day. We feel very grateful to have had Selahattin as our guide and hope to stay in touch.
