Celine contacted us the day before the tour to let us know our tour was confirmed and to introduce herself. She met us at the bodrum port stop with my name so we can easily identify her. Haydar ( the driver ) took us to the castle and gave us a very detail tour around the castle. She also pointed out good photo stops to take pictures. We then went to the theater, carpet and leather store to do some shopping. Celine also took us to the windmill where we had juices with a beautiful view. Overall a great experience, highly recommend.
Great experience with our tour guide. We saw many different sites. She was extremely knowledgeable and educated about history related to our experience.
The tour was terrific. Our guide, Mert, was great! He was very knowledgeable, accommodating, and professional. We saw all the highlights, had a fantastic lunch, and really enjoyed the tour. I would highly recommend the tour and Mert!
Fantastic private tour.
Our friendly and very knowledgeable guide and driver made our first trip to Bodrum exceptional. Did not rush us and wanted to make sure we’re enjoying the tour and spending as much time as we’d like at each site.

We booked this tour because of the history & no mention of carpet jewelry stops.
However ...
We ended up having one.
Did enjoy seeing how a rug is made & the spinning of silk.
Did not like being taken into a room for sales pitch to buy.
Just tell your tour guide you don't want the carpet stop to give you more time at the castle.
Unfortunately we arrived on a Wednesday & the bazzar is only on Tuesday or Saturday.
We really wanted to experience the turkieye bazzar.
We had a private tour with Ugur and it was amazing. The van was comfortable and his history knowledge was wonderful and the tour was perfect. Bodrum is gorgeous and we would come back again and do another private tour!
Great knowledgeable guide Selim, a 6 hours well spent! Saw many interesting sights with an amazing personal touch.
Sonya was very nice. Took us to the city on the water, the fort and an awesome market where I got pistachio candy. Had the best ice cream ever.
Cann was a very informative guide. Enthusiastic, personable and kind. Wonderful! The castle was incredible.
Selim and our driver were great. Saw many places and were given great information on the area.. We even visited an oriental rug factory and learned the Turkish way of rug making.

Zeynep was our guide who was very knowledgeable about the Bodrum Castle and underwater museum. She shared the history of Bodrum and how it tied into the Castle. We enjoyed our time with Zeynep.

Private tour by comfortable van in the city of Bodrum. Our guide Derya was fantastic. She had so much information to share about Bodrum and Turkey in general. She paced our morning very well and gave us plenty of time at each of our stops. We really enjoyed her knowledge and her company. Lunch is not included, so be sure to ask about the cost if you do stop to eat.
Dee (shortened name) and driver gave us an amazing tour! We loved every second of our tour! Beautiful luxurious van. Dee was so sweet and friendly and a true expert about the history of Bodrum! We love the castle and the underwater museum, as well as the delicious local restaurant she took us to! We were surprised at the amazing ancient history that is in Bodrum! Very, very interesting! Everything was done very timely and professionally. Loved it ! Made wonderful memories in Bodrum! Ask for Dee if you go! She is amazing and easy to understand and hear . We love private tours because there’s so much more personable and we can customize it and we really get to know the tour guide and their local traditions.
My husband and I had a wonderful 1-day Bodrum tour with Selin. She was super knowledgeable about all of the sites we visited and was very accommodating to our requests for Turkish ice cream and food. Selin was an absolute joy to meet and hang out with. Lovely day….highly recommend.
This was what we were looking for. A 1/2 day orientation of Bodrum and exploration of the castle and museum. Esan was delightful and we enjoyed our time with her. If you’re there for a day on a cruise ship this is perfect.
We had no idea this was a private tour. Kind of wish we could've had six people in our group, so she could have made more money. So grateful that she stayed a little after to help. Make sure we ordered food that we are familiar with. She was so sweet and nice to talk to
Our tour guide Nora, was excellent. Lovely day seeing the castle and town. Our last stop was at a carpeting and jewelry store. They showed us how rugs are made. Very interesting, but then they were relentless in trying to sell their rugs. A very uncomfortable situation.
Bodrum review
Our guide Lily was wonderful and truly made our tour very memorable. She was very knowledgeable, flexible and patient with what we wanted to focus on seeing more of.
After the tour she took us to a local restaurant where we had the best kebab we ever had.
I highly recommend Otto travel and make sure to ask for Lily.
It was a little difficult to find our guide Mert as we left the port, but all went well after we did. He took us to the major sights and explained what we were seeing and its history. Most importantly he accommodated our physical limitations and adjusted tour based on what we wanted to see and so.
The Guide was very knowledgeable and very accommodating on making changes to the itinerary. Would recommend highly.
Bodrum is a busy seaport vacation destination with some charm. The private tour was great for is because we have mobility issues. Our guide, Sophia, was very patient.
This was one of the most enjoyable and informative tours my wife and I have experienced on this cruise. We were picked up in a vehicle that was able to maneuver through the narrow streets by a very skillful driver, and paired with Pervin, our knowledgeable guide, who carefully explained the history and/or meaning of what we viewed which brought the historic timeline of this tour into focus.
But to echo the comments of some other reviews, what is described in the tour description as, "Visiting local handicraft center to experience producing process", was a bit misleading as it is really a visit to a carpet and jewelry store that offers a five minute demonstration of silk production and carpet weaving, (very interesting), followed by a 20 minute high pressure sales pitch to buy carpets and/or jewelry, (not interesting). This sales "ambush" should have been offered as an option (much like the lunch offer), and could have been something that we choose to experience and not feel like something we were forced into. I write this so that future interested visitors are aware of what will happen and can make that choice.
Being given this option would make this tour a five star choice.
Excellent tour. Mrs Nur was a great guide. The tour hit all the places promised, with the castle the primary destination. Rug making was good education. At the first mention of no interest in purchasing, they left us alone. We had a very good experience.
The trip started off informative and the tour guide very knowledgeable. We went to 3 stops and then veered off the scheduled tour for a carpet and jewelry sales pitch that we felt extremely pressured from not only the store but the tour guide Tuuba as well. Once we did not buy carpet our tour was ended and the tour guide stopped talking to us. We never went to the market which was supposed to be part of tour. Extremely disappointed in the tour guide and that this company is from Viator that we were told was reputable. Do not feel we should be charged for a sales pitch!!!

Great experience. We got to see the castle, underwater museum, theater, old city gate, got education about carpet making... the silk process is very cool, windmills. Amazing views all around. Out tour guide Zeynep was very informative and friendly. We appreciated we had a dedicated driver and an air conditioned vehicle which picked us up and dropped us off at the cruise ship port. We got to see far more than we would have in the heat and sun. Would definitely recommend.
